  1. After seeing that, I think I'll definitely stick with the circuit we discussed yesterday. Also, since I am really bored here, I guess I'll work on the electrical diagram so I can make a proper post about this. Most wise
  2. The circuit I've put together so that I can use a momentary switch.
  3. Just some teaser shots of my progress so far. PCB is currently under construction, made all the more complicated due to the TCS switch being a momentary design rather than On/Off (and as is typical, every time I go to Jaycar for parts I always forget 1 or 2 critical components)
  4. Qld has both trds and sportivos, neither has been at all modified. Not sure about NSW
  5. The highway Aurions were just regular TRDs, no special additions
  6. from Ebay. Search for 3m Carbon Vinyl

  7. You've seen me drive. I'm surprised the wheels are still attached. Ugh. I feel like hurling just thinking about it...
  8. +1 for the sunnies rattling. Drove me nuts trying to find the rattle only to discover that. As for the TRD, I'd really like to see how to turn a regular Aurion into a TRD one day. Just to get an idea of how much they change it aside from the obvious, visible differences. OR It could be just that the owner of a TRD is more likely to take care of their car other than someone treating the Aurion as their A to B transport...
  9. I would like to see you disassemble, install and wire up, then reassemble everything within 1 hour. The wiring easily takes the longest if you want to do things properly and have everything neatly and professionally installed. If anything I would be concerned with the level of workmanship if they belted that out within an hour (unless assuming the wiring connectors were already behind the panels - which I don't think they are)
  10. my work roster is ideal for me coming out so I'll be there weather permitting
  11. Quick update - front page updated with new pics showing all mods to date. BTW big thanks to DJKOR who delivered the LEDs I needed to finish my footwell lights!
  12. Thanks all for the positive comments. As it is stock you can't shorten the factory one much as it will rub about the center console when in sequential mode - you'd need to modify the chrome bit first quite a bit. You could fibreglass a replacement bottom half and paint it or something, it depends on how handy you are really.
  13. Been doing a bit of modding to my car so I have a few parts left over that I'm willing to let go of cheap. 1) Leather Gear Shifter - No marks/tears/rips etc --- $50 2) Eyelids - Currently painted in Matt Black --- SOLD 3) Aurion Sportivo Leather steering wheel and Airbag - I previously stole the Toyota logo off the airbag, I have since sourced another emblem that fits pretty well but not as good as standard. You can use the emblem off your standard ATX airbag if desired. Leather is slightly worn but still pretty good. Due to the condition I'm selling off both as a pair for only $120. Steering controls included. Sorry no pics at the moment but if you're interested I'll try get some organised. Pickup is available in Brisbane and is preferred however will post items at buyer request. Pics of the shifter and eyelids are below, sorry for the low quality phone-camera pics.
  14. The supercharging isn't hard, all the TRD parts can be bought from Toyota - it's just that doing so is a very expensive exercise and the gains aren't worth it for the amount needed. For roughly the same money, a turbcharger (or 2) and custom ECU could be had I'd imagine which would yield a far greater gain. 250kw at the wheels is a lot for a FWD though especially one without an LSD. Either way welcome to the forums, and especially welcome to another Aurion owner. I'm eager to see what mods you do and possibly what mods you pioneer yourself!
  15. Got the new shifter installed. Feels very nice in the car - the shortened height really makes for a sportier feel. FYI, in future I will cut the new thread BEFORE cutting the old thread off :| Forgive the Iphone quality pics and the stupid flash. The first pic gives the best impression of how it looks in the car.
  16. Not waving anything bro, never my intention when i said that.. just would like to go with a few friends thats all.. its alrite.. most likely i will be going with my friends.. I didn't see that as Ingres' intention as well. I figured that the idea was more because we are always good at getting a big group together. I guess it shows how everyone thinks. On topic though, man what a day that was. Words just can't describe the state everything is in. yeah I was probably over-analyzing it. Must be all the crap that's been happening lately that's getting to my way of thinking. My bad mate.
  17. Is that $92 including postage? For such a small difference I reckon the best option would be the dealer. Least then you know you are getting genuine Toyota quality.
  18. Unfortunately you don't get the flexibility of being able to turn it back on. On a side note, I have now driven approximately 1000km with the traction control wired to be off. In that time I have covered various roads and spun my wheels heaps. So far there have been no error codes so this option is definitely a goer. Next step will be to see how it reacts to having it switch while the car is running. I will get to that another day though. Tomorrow I plan on helping some mates with the massive cleanup in the next suburb. Any chance of providing a wiring diagram of this mod, Please? Drew The wiring will depend on what sort of switch you use, and whether you want it to reset when the car is turned off etc. DJKOR has provided a very useful diagram on the first page which shows which wire is which at the ECU plug in the engine bay which should be plenty to get the ball rolling - in fact it's the hardest part of this mod! Obviously it's up to DJKOR as to whether he posts a wiring diagram however I'm sure he'd like to get his own version finalised and working 100% first at the very least.
  19. Unfortunately due to the floods etc I'm one of the few employees at work who can still do shifts. As such I'm snowed under for at least the foreseeable future with work so I'm afraid I'm out for lending a hand. Whilst I'm all for the idea of us all getting together to lend a hand, I think perhaps it's not suitable to go waving the TOCAU banner so to speak whilst doing it. It just doesn't feel right to me (all best intentions aside).
  20. Just got my new shift knob in the mail. Perfect fit except now the shaft needs to be shortened. As the gear knob won't get much work in sports-shifting anymore I went for something shorter whilst still avoiding the aftermarket. Those with keen eyes would recognise it being from a Lexus IS model. Unfortunately my re-threading tool is imperial so I'll need to find a metric one before I can install it. EDIT Sorry guys, the internet is acting up and won't let me upload the pics. Pics to come early tomorrow morning. EDIT EDIT Pic was up all along dammit
  21. Sure did mate. Worked on it in the same position you have there. It helped, but definitely not enough... well for me anyways to call it 'confident'. I think the fact that all the wires are bunched close together and they are partially twisted is what makes it difficult in the given space. Man, thanks for thinking I was that great for working with it on the engine side of the actuator. If anyone could do that there, I would give them a beer. If you had kept quiet you could have gotten away with it :) Wired mine up at the engine end this morning and ran the harness through the firewall so it's ready for when I my switch turns up. Used some automotive wiring tubing I had lying around to keep everything looking fairly stock, think it worked out well you wouldn't even know it had been touched unless you knew exactly what to look for. All connections are soldered, heat-shrinked and for good measure wrapped in electrical tape before going in the tubing. Pretty sure it will hold up over time.
