1. My dash lights dont light up so i cant see the speedo at night. The lights on that dont turn on either. Also the front parkers dont turn on either. Foglights dont turn on as well. All of these run off the same fuse, i will try to replace the fuse even though it looks ok. I have just sanded the fuse down with 2000 grit sandpaper to remove the rust and nothing turns on. I will try to replace the fuse though. Since i think the fuse is ok, i believe it is a short somewhere in the wiring. I believe its most likely somewhere near tail lights. I have also done dutchie's jdm tailight mod for the zre which required cutting the parker lights. They are wrapped in heat shrink and electrical tape over the top. I also have a multimetre but i dont know how to check the voltage for the tail light harness. I only used it to ensure my audio installation was at the correct voltage. There is also a little rust on the contacts of the wiring harness pins for the parker lights. Can anyone guide me on how to go about it? i wont be able to do much more until next week after exams are over. *edit* i was just thinking. If it was a short in the parker lights. Should the front parkers and dash lights turn on when the tailight wiring harness is unplugged? All other lights on the harness are working (break, reverse, indicators) It has also occurred to me that the first ever time the lights wouldnt turn on was when i installed the remote wire for my headunit. Could the headunit cause a short in the wiring? If so, would it be best to not have the connection or fix the wiring? All it does is dim the screen. <_<

My 08 Corolla ZRE parker lights wont turn on :( Can anyone help me with where i should first look? i have just checked the fuse and its not broken. However, one side of the fuse is lightly rusted. I cant check for much more since its dark outside. things which i have also noticed/done in the past. 1. Installed foglight stalk, everything worked perfectly fine. 2. A month later i connected remote wire for amp and sub (First time parkers wouldnt turn on). My headunit is connected to the parkers in a way so the headunit dims when the parkers are on. 3. When i have condensation in my taillights, they tend to not turn on. 4. When i dont have condesation in tailights, the parkers either turned on immediately or after driving the car for 30 seconds. Today it rained a little heavily and i got condesation in my tailights and the lights wont turn on at all. I know i should fix it up. But i still have exams for another week. After that fixing the condensation and sealing the lights will be the first thing done.

i should be in for the albert park meet :D and will attend garage cafe as well if i have nothing on that night.

The front lip will be a one off. Hopefully I can get it started when I finish my exams in two weeks. It should keep me occupied for the holidays. Also Will, since you already have a facelift rear bar, and I'm guessing you're using the stock pf rear lights, so why not delete the reflectors on the facelift rear bar? I reckon it'd look alot cleaner that way. I would do that instead of making a rear lip. A few rukus owners have done that in america have done that.

haha yeah that was a photoshop that i did, i used the prorgam paint though. hence the 'litte paint job i did' :P I would listen to john since he has both bars and can compare them. In the end its up to you Will, it WOULD be easier to save and buy a rear skirt. OR if you're game and have some free time and like to DIY, make your own. i might be starting a custom front lip out of scratch. but i want to get my car audio done first though.

from what i can see it can be done. i'll tell you how i would do it, it may take quite a bit of time though. See how our bumper is straight then curves? attach the facelift rear from there so that it is straight. Then you will need to find all the areas which are flush and think of a way to make them flush. I reckon if you did that it would look similar to the TTE rear lip. This is a little paint job i did a while back. TTE lip diffuser Other things you may need to think about is the cost to paint, tools to cut the bumper, mounting points.

Do you plan on running the speakers on an amp or just the headunit? If headunit then find something that doesnt require so many watts. Decent factory speakers go very well with after market headunits since they dont require much power. If you get good speakers but dont amp them properly and deaden doors, i find that you dont get the most out of them. My suggestion, for a basic set up is new headunit, set of splits in the front and a sub in the boot. Dw about rear fill since you're never in the back, passengers can listen to the front speakers.

wow thats a beautiful colour for the badge. Did you mix acrylic 1k paint to get that colour? I might have a go and paint the wheels that colour :D

to P_T, if it was between the normal headlights on the facelift and the prefacelift headlights, then i would keep the prefacelift. But when the facelift headlights get blacked out like in the levin zr, also with a modellista garnish, it looks so mean.

thanks guys! i overlooked the quarter panel, that looks like it might need a change as well. I was worried about the mounting points as well. Looks like it'll be too much work to do.

Hey guys, what do you reckon would be involved with changing the preface zre front to the facelift front. I love blacked out headlights and modellista garnish for them. So far from what i can observe in pictures, the changes are headlights, front bumper and bonnet. Do you reckon anything else would be involved? If thats the case and i can find the parts, i might give it a go at the end of the year :D

Like ascendant rice said, its all about the prep. Make sure everything is as smooth as possible, wetsand the wheels so the paint have a surface to adhere to. Prime and paint with your choice of colour. Acrylic is easy to use, the acrylic clear coat is a little hard to get right though.

I have noticed in the last few days that my dash light has not been turning on when i flick the parkers or headlights on. Sometimes it will turn on straight away and sometimes i just need to give it some time and it is fine. Would anyone have any idea what the problem is? I havent done anything to the car lately besides solder a remote wire to my pioneer headunit. edit: i just remembered that around a month ago i installed a factory foglight stalk as well.

I used a backyard tinter when i got my car done. He works at tint a car during the day and does backyard jobs on the weekend. $170 for the corolla. I got it in 28% which is just a tad darker than legal, but its not noticeable. He was done in around 2 hours and gives you life long warranty. The backyarder also gets recommended by car dealers. When he was doing my car, this guy guy had his new 2010 Aurion ready for tinting, the toyota dealer told him to go to the backyarder. :D Only problem is that you must be free when he is.
