  1. +1 for dutchie's design. i like all 3 of the things you are intending to do the car so dont give up on the modding. Do a DIY for the front lip, you did it for the mudguards, so it'll be the same process with a clear coat. Dutchie's given you the pinstripes idea. Lowering springs you have negotiated with another member so altogether your car will look good
  2. i reckon for your levin ZR badge, if you can mask it off really well then that should be sufficient. If not, you can try touch up paint and touch up primer pens? that might work. As for the front lip, do a DIY if you're up for it. Im going to give it a go after the semester is over. Because paint places will charge for labour, primer and paint, I thought id give it a go myself since i've sprayed a few things. Wet sand the lip down myself, plastic primer, sand, use Duplicolour 3R3 paint for my car, and do heaps of layers for the front and just a bit for the bottom because that will just get scratched again. Just make sure you are PATIENT when doing it, spray very light layers each time. That way you can make sure it doesnt run and constantly shake the can every few minutes. :D
  3. if you like, there's also osram diadems on sale for 20 AU dollars from powerbulbs shipped to your door. :D
  4. haha, is that photoshopped or done with old school paint? :D If i had your white zre the way it is, this is what i would do. Remove the red pinstripes, all of them As for the wheels, sand them down again, i sold my kappas and have stockies on now, i like it the way they are, but if you want a more after market look, id go for a dark copper bronze with the white. You can do a DIY for this. One layer of matte black and two or more layers of bronze should turn out well. dont worry about the clear coat because it'll be too glossy Also lower it, dont worry about the shocks, they will be fine. your car is due for a lowering job.
  5. oh i've seen this, rear skirts arent my thing but i've got another shot for people.
  6. thats a good price! i was going to get a spare for my key because i was only given one after i picked my car up. Luckily the place sent the key home after a month.
  7. OMG first ever PS3 modchip?!

      benji4138

What?! It has a modchip?! If so then Sweet. Have to find where to get em

  8. Firstly, Im not quite sure what you're trying to say. Because from what im reading, you're saying car speed distorts your speakers? Well im not sure which camry you had, but my dads camrys(gen 5) stock speakers have much more bass than the corolla speakers. So you can probably hear the low frequency's a little better. But the corolla has tweeters and the woofer, which lacks a bit midbass to me. I've also got a sub so that makes up for it a little. The issue to me sounds like you just get distracted by the road noise at freeway speeds. I do too, usually i just turn up the music a bit, or you can sound deaden the car
  9. haha. only problem is. the guy i told is a friend and is friends with the majority of my mates. he already knows where i live and everything. id rather hope that he didnt do it. But for some reason i think it was his friends instead. Who knows, the foot print in my front yard fits the size of my shoes so im guessing they're around the same height and stuff. Im also thinking i should go ask tyre stores if they had seen anything. the wheels need a balance because i had just painted them.
  10. yeah. thats just bad luck. bloody shifty.... thats why i never put the wheels on my car, i didnt want any attraction to my house or my car. But obviously it did. I took the info out just incase the person lurks around these forums just because you dont need to sign in to read the stuff. One thing i found this morning, tyre prints and a footprint in the mud. Also one suss thing is, ive had the rims in there for over 4/5 months and never got around to selling them because of uni. I told a mate monday night i had rims in the garage because he heard i was selling a set from a friend. 2 nights later, they're gone. I also know him and his mates do that kinda ****, going around and nicking peoples car stuff. So i'll see if i can suss him out.
  11. yeah i had a description of the rims up and was going to post a photo but i thought id just keep it on a low. yeah i remember seeing your thread up a while back, mine happened in the middle of the night though. Kinda like when another member had his sideskirts stolen. Did you ever find the bastards?
  12. yeah i know. my mums been going in and out of the garage and didnt even realise. trying to lock everything up now. FML. only good thing is that they were cheap and was about to sell it to a friend. I've got pictures and know what tyres they are. None of them had valve caps on them though. all sticky tape so i hope they drive on them, and drive into a pole. thats karma.
  13. edited for personal reasons. I just hope they enjoy karma
  14. I think i had damaged my rear tailights when i removed them and am getting condensation in the taillights. I removed them the other day to sit them in front of the heater so the water evaporates. But now i have little rock pieces in the lights themselves. Does anyone know how to remove the top part where the globes sit, so i can get access to just the plastic? I see two screws and it looks like one area is clipped in, ive removed the screws and the clips dont seem to budge.
  15. with my car, the 08 model, I got 2 remote keys. I bought mine at an auction and only got one key at first. I thought about getting another key but thats quite expensive but costs less than getting a completely new key if you lose your current one. a month later they sent me my key :P
  16. Hey, my mum just got a 100,000km service for her zze but hers is a 03 model. In the log book the only real thing to do was for oil and oil filter. It was every 40,000km that gets things such as spark plugs, engine coolant etc etc changed. It should be in your log book. For the battery, it shouldnt cost that much i reckon. If anything go to a local mechanic. I find them to be alot more better.
  17. lowering is pretty much something that has to be done since the height is so high. besides that everything else is up to you, what colour is your corolla edge? if i were you id change the rims, i dont really like the ones that came with the them.
  18. Hey guys, i had spare time and thought i'd give my car a little maintenance and check the fluids in the engine. It's the first time i've done this and had trouble trying to find the brake fluid location because i was trying to find something brownish in colour. But mine is green, is that normal? i replaced my brake fluid at my last service. i also want to check the other fluids. Starting from the top left (when looking at the engine): plastic top part - brake fluid Pink Stuff - transmission fluid/power steering? im not 100% on what it actually is. Plastic thing under that - washer fluid Radiator - im assuming engine coolant is around there under the plastic, i didnt have time to take off the plastic If you guys can confirm with me whether im looking at the correct fluids in the right area. I'll start doing weekly checks after i know where everything is located.
  19. you're zre is looking nice :D i remember when i had foglights and hub caps on, looked kinda cool. also, where abouts did you get your crystal clear phillips lights from? autobarn charges ridiculuos prices, i think they wanted 160 the last time i asked them.
  20. just a shot of my car last weekend, i know it needs a drop, so someone buy my other kappas so i can get springs :D and some other possible items i might get in the future: Spoiler Its an aftermarket one, if others are interested maybe i'll talk to the guy and see if he's willing to give a group discount. Currently cost 170 each. i hope for it to turn out like this also trying to find these
  21. Hey seifer, where abouts are you from? i have an alpine 4 channel amp and 12 inch kicker comp vr sub that i've got sitting in my room that im willing to sell for 200 together. I really enjoyed the quality from the kicker, but being in a hatch, there's alot less space so there was much more bass. I just recently changed to a 10 inch jl audio sub for a much more balanced sound, so a i would go for a 12inch sub for the aurion. If you're from melbourne and interested then just send me a pm.
  22. like everyone is saying, you cannot compare the two, but i will do so anyway since my family has a camry altise 02, corolla conquest sedan 03, and corolla ascent hatch 08. I learnt how to drive in the corolla and its a good car, its less powerful than the camry, but you'd only notice that when you're a learner and have only been driving one car. The camry is very spacious, i never realised how big the boot of that thing is, inside is big as well. Both are very good as a daily, it just comes down to how much space you need like superdave said. The 08 feels the same just in a different body, but there's HEAPS of body roll when you turn, so i started turning alot slower. Driving all 3 they all feel very similar with a reliable vvti engine. If you want to compare the costs between the camry and corolla, the corolla has a much higher resale value. When i was searching for my car people were asking 10-14k for an 03-06 model Corolla. The camry's have a lower price but the majority have higher kilometres. The camry also uses just a bit more fuel with a 2.4 litre engine compared to the 1.8 in the corolla. If i had to choose between any toyota, it would come down to the corolla sportivo and aurion. Id choose the sportivo just because hitting lift feels pretty cool and they look mean just with eyelids. If i could id find a cascade blue one for the future but i believe most might be thrashed in 4 years time with high km's. The aurion is much newer and also looks very good, ive never driven in one but the aurion owners on TOCAU have some awesome looking aurions. If you're looking for a reliable car, then toyota is the way to go. I know they've let some people down lately, but you get what you pay for. Just remember none of their cars are high performance so dont expect anything very fast. Unless you get a TRD Aurion :D
  23. hrrmm... im not sure about the brand, but i reckon the stock headunit does a pretty good job. I've got an ascent which doesnt have the usb slot, or 6 stacker cd, but the aux was all i needed. Install a line out converter from jaycar into the rear of the headunit (which is easy to install) and installing a sub and amp works well. I've gone through many ipods and a 160 gb ipod is plentiful. Instead of going through heaps of cds or all the songs, just make different playlists with the songs you want.
  24. haha dw, i'll see most of you ZRE guys at the car wash before the cruise :D but i wont be going on the cruise itself though
  25. oh damn, then someone out there has a ZRE like that, wonder if its anyone here.
