  1. oh damn. what happened to the rear bumper? I can vouch for the micro four third cameras dwee suggested. i shoot with them since i got sick of carrying around a bulky DSLR. They're nice and small like a digital camera but have the quality of a DSLR. Also you can interchange the lens between different brands. i.e i use panasonic lens on the olympus body. If you look for one, either get a panasonic or olympus, they're currently the best in this area. Also they just came out with their new models.
  2. you thinking about getting a golf gti dwee? :P if you disregard all other factors i think traditional manual will always win. but once you take in all other factors, its what feels better to you in the end and suits your needs. For everyday driving, id probably have to go with the dsg :D
  3. oh damn that rukus looks great! id love to see it in person one day :D The engine bay looks great!
  4. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Auris-Rear-mud-flaps-/290588665203?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item43a86f2573 Well this picture shows a facelift rear bumper with mudguards if anyone is thinking about it.
  5. Village drive in cinema's with a sound system is awesome! but i wish i had my splits installed and running off the amp though. I saw transformers 3 a few weeks ago at the drive ins and it wouldnt have been the same without a sub! Also have heaps of junk food! I reckon with the 4 channel amp you can do a very basic setup with just splits and sub. Find a low powered sub such as the rockford p1 and kicker sub. Both rated at 150 watts RMS. Decent set of splits from jaycar and that'll keep you pretty happy. It'll most likely be better than 4 speakers. I find that when the door speakers play the lower frequencies, i get alot of door rattle.
  6. the switch isnt so easy. I thought about doing it to my corolla as well. However the levin zr climate unit only has one plug in the back. The standard unit has 3 plugs going into it. Maybe its possible to change the wiring harness but im not sure.
  7. the meet look great guys! great pictures as well! hopefully i can make it to the next one.
  8. yeah mine is red, it saves me from getting it painted so it was a bargain. check your pm.
  9. refer to above post vinh. i edited it before seeing your reply.
  10. 76851-12902 Right side, 76852-12901 Left side. This might be the part number for a specific colour though. This is my one i got from yahoo japan. 90 bucks for the lip but this was shipping by sea. Gives me time to get all the other body parts ready
  11. welcome chris! come to the victorian monthly meet this weekend! :D
  12. For the badge this is how i would do it step by step. 1. Start with 240 grit paper, sand chrome off. optional sand with 400, then 800 grit to make it as smooth as possible, its something i choose to do but sometimes unnecessary. 2. Rub the badge with paint thinner to remove grease and dust etc 3. Prime with plastic primer, sand with 800 grit, do another coat, sand 800 grit so that layer is smooth. 4. spray your colour of choice, do 3/4 coats. Generally the base coat does not need sanding at all, you only sand if there are flaws such as runs and blobs in your paint. 5. Clear coat if you like, but i hate clear coat from a can, its never as shiny and you always get orange peel. hope that clears some things up for you.
  13. if anyone would like to know what the issue is, it was my switch. i only had it for 3 months, purchased it from toyota only 3 months ago so i could turn on my foglights. <_< anyone know how to fix one of these switches?
  14. Just found someone trying to sell FT-86 plates. For that price, you might as well get 'FT-86' rather than 'FT-8666' http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FT-8666-number-plate-ft86-ft-86-frs-fr-s-toyota-corolla-/180691662093?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a120ff50d#ht_500wt_1156
  15. thanks branno. in my case my whole foam piece was wet. I might just seal the whole tail light and put plumbers tape around the globes. it depends on how bad it is from now on. however this does give me an excuse to get LED lights. Branno, it stopped raining and i went to have a look at what you are talking about. I see this very small gap which could cause water to enter. Initially i thought water entered through the light globe holes. thanks heaps!
  16. nah they are the factory lights. Looking at them now, i think they are damaged because they have different gaps in different areas
  17. fit properly as in no gap. I went to the dealers to check out some other corollas and noticed that they actually have no gap. They sit absolutely flush so water doesnt leak into the tail lights. It just drips down and out the car. The car was bought at an auction so i have no idea if it was in an accident or not. I know that i didnt have an issue with it until i removed it to do the jdm tail light mod. I'll take pictures when it doesnt rain in melbourne because i've taped up one gap and put silicone on the other. It has stopped the water entering the lights. i just dont like how it looks. *i went out to take pictures and noticed a little bit of condensation still getting into the lights. I guess the lights might possibly be damaged because the gaps on both sides are different sizes. i'll get a set of L.E.D lights for the car instead. lol
  18. mine is an 08 just like your mums. red as well. its also worse in the left taillight. Yeah i filled the gaps with silicone already. Its not that visible, but i was hoping i could make it fit properly.
  19. I've been having issues with water getting into my tail lights and decided to track down how the water was getting through. I have noticed gaps around 2/3mm which allows water to leak into the tail lights. The foam piece isnt enough to keep the water out and gets soaked if it rains. The areas which have the leaks are the following. Can someone take pictures for me of their tail lights just incase i havent put them in correctly. I wasnt able to take pictures of my own car since i've put silicone in the gap to seal it up. i dont like how it looks though <_<

    TAX !

These are my little tips which i've learnt as an accounting student. - Gifts of 2 dollars or more can be claimed if you have a receipt from an approved body (e.g Charity) - You dont need receipts if you claim less than $300 - Make sure you keep all documents and receipts if you claim over $300 worth of stuff just in case you get audited. I cant think of much else off the top of my head. Also regarding some of the things 123R-prozak has said: Hand cream/shampoo/moisturiser etc must relate to your work, eg as a mechanic your hands get dry from your work so you need moisturiser, Sunscreen because you work outdoors. If you have a specific uniform you wear for work you can claim up to $150 for washing the clothes with no receipts, you'll need receipts if you want to claim more. Eyewear is a contentious area, those who work outside can generally claim for sunglasses. But for those who work inside, you generally cant claim. eg taxi driver using sunglasses, you wont be able to claim. As for car expenses, there's an extensive amount of documentation. For more tips, ask your accountant, they should know most of this
  21. spotted Jenz rukus today turning out of westfield doncaster, very nice looking car :D
  22. Hey guys, i shall be giving my car a full detail using a friends random orbital polisher within the next month. i was just wondering what sort of polishing pads do you guys use?
  23. Yeah I will. I have done a few things to the wiring so I want to check it all myself first. I don't want it to be something stupid like the insulation has come off and touching the car chassis.
  24. The dim light doesnt connect to any of the factory wiring in my car. Its connected from orange/white wire pioneer harness > aftermarket harness. This wire doesnt connect to anything else and i think is internal? i'll give it a go and disconnect it. I bought my car at the auctions so its not covered by warranty. How would i go about checking the power at the bulb? Do i set my multimeter to volts and look for how power coming out? sorry for all the questions, i've only ever used the multimetre to check my power, ground and remote wire on the amp.
