  1. I hope you didn't type these out yourself Shaohaok :P I heard of a guy with a 99 White Celica 2ZZGE that had a wild bodykit and dumped and he had a 2.5" system on but later swapped to a 2.25" which he said was far better. His car was LOUD though.
  2. Another alternative is to hunt for used WRX or Type-R seats at wreckers. Maybe even Supra or Skyline seats. Beware of imitations though. I tried to purchase 2 STi seats for a friend overseas and nearly got conned. They make them look exactly the same but the lumber support is totally different. Genuine ones have much more support, almost rock solid (WRX STi and Type-R Recaros). Also look under the seat for uneven or cheap stiching or even staples! I had a mate who bought a used FTO seat for $200 at a Sydney wrecker. But the trouble is you would have to get brackets custom made and might cost more than the seat.
  3. Stivos don't have side airbags. For Levins i guess you would have to decide what you want, safety of an airbag or snug-fitting cool-looking seats :D
  4. What about the Celica, Camry, Tarago or Landcruiser batteries? Are they higher in capacity and do they fit? Need them to be about the same size and weight though.
  5. Can someone say false advertising! :D It still looked the best among the other 50 facelifted rollas in the yard!
  6. I am in if it costs $300 or less painted and delivered to Shellharbour NSW. Hope we have got enough people to get the price down. Zee
  7. I saw a white one parked in the yard at my dealership too. Still has plastic on the seats and stickers "141kw" on the windscreen.
  8. Toyota rang me again saying its a drive test of my stivo by a regional representative. He will try to adress all of the concerns i raised. Hope i can make that appointment though, might be working that morning <_<
  9. Do you know if they deliver nation wide E-gene? $415 is a good price for Tein, if they do delivery i will be up for it.
  10. Thanks man, $440 for Tein which is specific for ZZE123 is not bad at all considering Whiteline sells the ZZE122 springs for $320. Do you know if they deliver these springs to the door? I live in Shellharbour NSW2529.
  11. I would put my money on the Stivo still.
  12. My Cxi was quick too and my mates back then drove a Suzuki Baleno 1.6 and a Gti. Even with my mods i would lose to the stock Baleno at the start. Those things weigh 900kg but has 1600cc and was real torquey. With his 14inch rims he will always jump me and my Civic will only reel him in 3rd gear. But the double wishbones setup with Koni springs and shocks and rear sway bar the Civic was a go-cart! Cornering was impressive to say the least. I am trying to replicate that "go-cart" feel into my Stivo :P
  13. Our Stivos have stiffer shocks compared to the ZZE122 models hence i am a little concerned the aftermarket springs for ZZE122 Corollas may not be the best for the stivos. Anyone here had Tein Springs fitted and how much was it? Zee
  14. I owned a 00' Civic Cxi 88kw standard then modded with extractors, full exhaust, K&N panel filter and cold air feed, 15by6.5inch 6-spoke lightweight alloys with bridgestone directional tyres, adjustable yellow konis and springs, whiteline rear sway bar, but standard clutch and flywheel. I also had upgraded sound system with amp and one 12inch sub. The weight of the car without driver should be around 1100kg due to sound system. I dragged a Nissan EXA with a CA18 non-turbo engine but when new had 103kw. Side by side till 3rd gear absolutely same speed. Also took on a Mirage with exhaust and beat it once into 2nd gear. When the Civic was standard i loss to a stock Gti with over 60,000kms but was really close up till 3rd gear. ALso took on a 1995 Civic Vti sedan with 96kw and i couldn't overtake and loss by 1 car length in the end, so with my mods i estimate 0-100 in high 8 seconds but 1/4 mile would be crap, no top end but the light body will pull it through. Zee
  15. I was thinking you should keep the stock airbox and join the red piping to the airbox while at the other end, stick it somewhere you can get a good air feed (eg. in front of radiator). Zee
  16. I received a call from Tory Toyota today, the dealership i have been bringing my Stivo to for service. They asked me if i would like to meet the service manager and the regional Manager next Friday morning regarding my concerns on the Stivo. They said they have received the email i sent to the customer service centre manager and it would be a rare opportunity for me to meet the regional manager. I have only visited the dealership yesterday to book the Stivo in AGAIN for a drive test to diagnose the shifting problem, and frankly am not impressed with the people's facial expressions. Let's just say it was "un-welcoming" and had "Not this guy again!" written over their faces. If any of you are having difficulty directing your concerns to the Toyota service personnel, i recommend you send an email to the customer service relations manager and the email will float to the service manager of your dealership. I am not a very articulate person and i don't like face to face confrontation unless absolutely neccessary hence i prefer to write and direct my concerns through emails. Frankly i don't give a damn about meeting the managers, what good does that do? I just want my problems addressed to promptly by Toyota, no more delaying especially with the gearbox and brakes.
  17. They told me the Kings cost $340 fitted and the 4 wheel allignment costs $60 = $400. With K-Mac they didn't tell me much and only said they could get it for my car, same with Lovells. They said they were unable to locate the current Stivo under the part numbers KTFL 105, KTFL 106 which i gave them, hence recommended me K-Mac and Lovells. I told them not possible because i know of Stivo owners in Sydney with Kings. ANyway, they are still trying to figure out what's going on. I was also quoted by a place here that has Whiteline products that the Whiteline Springs costs $160 a pair not fitted, which is correct as i checked their website and it is $145 not including 10% GST. That seems pretty expensive considering the set would costs $320 and i still have to pay for fitting and allignment somewhere else.
  18. I have shopped around for some springs recently and have been quoted by JAX $400 fitted plus alligned for Kings. They initially wanted $440 but i said i could get cheaper and then they came back with $400. They also said they have K-Mac and Lovells available but would be more expensive. Which of these 3 would you guys reccomend?
  19. Have you consulted Toyota yet cos i was thinking the s/c might turn them off, better to remove it for warranty. The mounts should not break that easily anyway and the s/c ain't that heavy is it? Zee
  20. Whoa, how did you do that? Sorry to hear about it mate and it shouldn't be hard to fix. Zee
  21. I have a little bit of coolant stains near the filler cap but no sign of coolant anywhere yet. I always check my garage floor to make sure its clear. Anyone in Sydney tried Stewart Toyota? The are located in Sutherland and their service centre looks all right. I bouht my Stivo from them and when my car had the rattles when i picked up the car, the mechanic there fixed it for me immediately with cable ties. The sales person was also very nice. Considering driving 1 hour from Shellharbour to Sutherland for my 10,000km service. Zee
  22. I will be real keen for an interstate meet and a magazine shoot in Canberra. Zee
  23. I've got a K&N panel filter cost me $130 which i reckon is pretty good value. When that gets dirty i will be getting a CAI of some sort. Zee
  24. T-Sport, nice to hear you got your car back.
  25. Care to share with us Shaohaok or would you reccomend i PM you and Danthuyer? The clutch rings a bell here cos i once dragged someone and i did a decent launch and after that drag my shifter loosened up a lot! Also there was once i tried slipping the clutch to land in Lift and after that try the shifter was again smooth but only for a little while. Zee
