  5. what i found to help in drying your car is... "using water to dry your car" :P basically once u spray off all the excess soap, remove the nozzle from the hose and turn the water power down till the water "streams" out of the hose... then start from the roof and gently allow the stream of water to collect all the droplets and sheet the water away.. do this from top-down on the car and watch your car almost fully dry itself! doing this i can dry my whole car using one meguiar microfibre cloth (wont scratch the clearcoat)... but ill still use my compressor to blow water out of annoying gaps.. which the aurion tends to have plenty of!! and then a final wipe with the same microfibre (twisted as dry as possible) and AG rapid detailer. taadaa! heres a link if i made no sense whatsoever :P

  15. Ok, so couple of small updates happening. car came back from panel beaters after being rear ended by a landcruiser with a tow ball :S so i took the opportunity to do a mega detail. IMG_8896 by DavidChaiPhotography, The main players for the paintwork detail, missing is the LSP which was AutoGlym Extra Gloss Protection. IMG_8892 by DavidChaiPhotography, Super Resin Polish applied using my Mothers Wax Attack palm polisher with a Meguiars 8006 polishing pad IMG_8890 by DavidChaiPhotography, While I had the car garaged for a few days, decided to remove the toyota emblem to prep it for painting! IMG_8885 by DavidChaiPhotography, Mmmmm nice even application! and now for the results! IMG_8904 by DavidChaiPhotography, went to my local toyota and picked up a rear "Aurion" badge, and decided to paint that as well as the badge.. note that it is not just gloss black.. we mixed up a lot of silver flake into the paint to go with the white/black/chrome theme of the car :) IMG_8903 by DavidChaiPhotography, sparkle! continued below...
  16. if i were you i would leave it badgeless at the front.. trd.. well everyone has their own opinion regarding that so we wont go into that. by the looks of the picture you could do with a remesh for a few reasons 1. to make it darker so you dont see all the radiator etc 2. it seems that the top of the grill is sagging a bit. you can use new mesh to prop the framework of the grill up. i had to do this with my previous sports grill and it worked a treat. looking good thou, will have to get you out for a photoshoot sometime?
  17. stupid question, but are these prices per rotor?
  18. Pictures can tell a thousand words right here.. it really depends on how bad your swirl marks are.. general rule of thumb: use the LEAST aggressive product to acheive what you want.. why? the clearcoat on your car may or may not be very thick, so you want to avoid removing too much of it if possible. id point you in the direction of this threadregarding removing swirlmarks from car paint work. read it and your efforts will make a lot more sense. :) if your still stuck after that then post your questions here and ill do my best to help you out :) good luck mate!

  21. Since when did Philips produce HID kits that come with a lamp base other than the D2/D4? As far as I was aware, Philips only truly produced these design HID lamps for automotive use. Anything else is either a copy, or a disassembled Philips lamp then placed into a traditional automotive bulb base. yep, ive been running genuine philips kits in mine for a while now.. no complaints.. i have run the "philips patent kits" before and found they did have a bit more flickering after a while, even with relays installed.
  22. Hey Perthies Been a while since we got together to check out the cars and have a good chat, so wanted to put a EOI for those who would like to catch up for some photos with a cruise between locations? perhaps when the weather turns good again, (which according to BOM is next Tuesday?) would be a evening meet up, so lets see whos interested?
  23. you'll generally find the 6000k performance in rain to be weaker when compared to the 4300k.. but definately not horrible.. (i travel up and down reid hwy most nights without any problems, even in the crud weather) ive been using 6000k for a while now and have no complaints so far... what brand HID kit did you get?? i did go 4300k philips for a while, however i missed the white/blue look and went back to 6000k..
