  1. hey mate i manage a bicycle store here in Perth and i can honestly say THULE would be the best brand to go for.. depending on how many bikes you are looking at carrying.. and a towbar is the better way to carry bikes on.. unless you can install a square hitch (not sure if the aurions can) then that would be the best way.. i would stay away from the "strap down" racks available on the market... i've used these on my previous car and despite their claims, it will marr the paint on your boot..
  2. **edit** acctually in reading further into the ultimate polish write ups, it seems a pretty close match to meguiars M205 ultra finishing polish.. which makes sense seeing as ultimate compound is the consumer version of M105 which pairs up with M205... much like Ultimate compound will pair with Ultimate polish... im nterested to see how the ultimate liquid wax turns out thou.. could be a contender for the AG extra gloss protection... MAYBE :P when it hits our shores here ill have to do a side by side test on durability! **end edit** how did you get your hands on the ultimate polish tash?? :P a write up would be great :) im eager to see the product on the shelves here, but apprehensive to stray from the AG regime i have going.. :P will have to try some on the missus car before i try on mine LOL
  3. I have started with a standard ATX and have fitted a sportivo body kit onto it.. i am satisfied with my upgrades to the car, however if i were to do it all over again, i would simply buy a sportivo (or TRD if the opportunity came along B) ) in the fitting body kit part of things... you'll find that the sportivo front and rear skirts, along with all the brackets and clips) is pretty well priced, even more so for the pre facelift skirtings.. HOWEVER. the cost comes in through the side skirts.. i was quoted around the $600.00 mark for 2 side skirts with their supporting brace.. this made me go aftermarket to source my side skirts which im happy with. just be aware that side skirts will end up being the most expensive part of the sportivo body kit upgrade. in terms of is it worth buying a sportivo over a ATX.. both sides have good arguments. if it were me, as stated, i would of gone for the sportivo/trd from the get go.. glad to see your in WA too! if your local in Perth, make sure you keep an eye out for when we have our meet ups!
  4. after a week off the road, im glad to say im satisfied with how the car turned out, she's never looked better!@ now im off go for a drive... thunderstorms forecast for tonight :) at least i know shes well protected.. bring on the water beading!!

Man oh man the results of that product spoke for themselves - so many minor paint defects are gone along with some minute white coloured scratches - I am thoroughly impressed :D Plus I did the whole car by hand with it and I haven't even used 1/4 of the bottle! Big props to Meguiars on that product whooo hooo! :) :) post pics asap Tash!! im about to finish mine off tomorrow too! just onto the small details now :P

  10. Hey Jin first of all thanks for the write up on how to install the grill..i have ordered one of these grills and I am pretty sure it is going to come with a white mesh just like yours..since i got a white car i think i will have to paint just the mesh black and leave the frame same because it matches the other parts of the bodykit..ok now i am going to sound like a noob but i wanted to ask what did you use to spray the mesh? i am guessing it is a black spray paint can from bunnings? if so do u remember any particular type i should be looking for or just anything works? Cheers buddy :) a better option would be to go to auto pro/supercheap/repco.. buy a pack of the black mesh (29 bucks) and remesh it.. you'll find the mesh is finer, and if your really keen, double mesh it for a darker look. See pics of Defyant's front grille, i double meshed that one before i sold it. if you wanna spray it, get some primer to pay down first and simply go to super cheap auto and buy some car paint (12 bucks a can) to the colour you like..
  11. It's the grill that makes it Cheers mate , wheres your new grill??? at the panel beaters getting painted up, will post pics when i get the car back :) loving this car more and more everytime i see it :)

  20. hi Daryl, try using some prepsol.. if that doesn't get it off then youre in trouble :P just remember to go over it with a wax/sealent to protect the area again.
  21. hey mate sorry i didnt see this until now, been pretty flat out :( to answer ur question, i use the 70% stuff as we get it by the gallon at work so i just top up my spray bottle each time i need to.. i only ever really use the iso wipe down a few times a year anyway.. as its part of my "mega detail" btw, ordered some rapid detailer.. and will try out AG Aqua wax in place of Megs Ultimate quik wax... will post results when i have them..
  22. Ok so at the moment im in the middle of making a claim through my insurance company AAMI. Has been a mix of ups and downs.. thought id make a post here so others could either post their experiences of add some insight to the situation.. when first making the claim, AAMI really lived up to their name, very very helpful, quick response (no waiting on hold), and friendly staff. upon making the claim.. 20min wait on the phone to speak to operator, unfriendly/uninterested operator, vauge answers.. what is going on?? those of you who are insured with AAMI, how did you go with their "prefered repairer" as i went for the quote with AAMI's preferd repairer, and to be honest.. WHAT A TOOL! the guy didnt even chjeck to see if the reinforcing bar behind the bumper was bent (which it is), was rude, and generally kept a dirty shop... when i took it to MY prefered panel beater, he immediately crawled under the car and saw the bar that was bent and was a lot more precise with his quote (sportivo bumper/skirting, took time to look at the replacement LED reflectors i have and said they would be retained in the new bumper) my question is. what are my rights if AAMI (and i bet my bottom dollar they will) send me to the "prefered repairer" Can i sinmply say "No, over my dead body" to them? am now questioning my choice of insurance company.. :S think ill go with a company that lets me choose repairer the next time.... anyway, please feel free to post your experiences.. /end rant
  23. hey mate i wouldnt think it to be a problem.. once the EGP has cured it should withstand the detailer.. ive been using megs ultimate quik wax over the egp about once a month.. dosent seem to upset it much.. if you are wiping it down without cleaning the car, i would strongly recommend ultimate quik detailer.. as its designed to be used to lift dust and MINOR dirt safely from your paint.. cant say ive had experience with the rapid detailer.. so cant comment on that... interested to give it a shot thou! (my results are based on a twice a week washing regime with meguiars ultimate wash and wax) hope that helps mate :)
  24. Just ordered some new DBA rotors, and now looking for pads! to go Geunine or aftermarket??
