  1. Yeah I've seen a couple of turbo'd 5S's, reasonably straight forward, but ultimately not very rewarding.
  2. This might be a stupid question, but if all this Y-Pipe stuff is costing so much, why not just run one pipe? Ditch the split all together and pop a fake tip on the other side. It should flow better and be cheaper. Nice car btw.
  3. ST162 GT2's aren't terribly uncommon, theres a few of them on OzCelica and Toymods, they usually put ST185 GT4 engines in and its not too big a job (remembering that your doing an engine swap) either. Turboing a 3S-GE would most likely cost more then a swap.
  4. What engine have you got? People usually swap in a 3S-GTE from a GT4.
  5. Forget most of what you see on the net and start calling places, otherwise you get nowhere. Could be worse, you could be looking for 17x8 5x100 +35 sized wheels like I am and have a total of 0 local sources. "Nah we dont get them mate, cause 5x100 is like WRX wheels and all have +45 and +50 offset" - heard that a lot :P. But this isn't a thread for my whinging...
  6. Its under here my good man: http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showforum=20
  7. Welcome to the forum... Please whatever you do don't put a cannon on it, a nice sports muffler will be so much better.
  8. Considered adding some high comp pistons, springs and retainers n valves and revving to the roof? Not that your car needs to be any louder ;)
  9. Another day, another post - Put my stock headlights back in so I can see at night.
  10. Your not alone with this noise, my Celica does the exact same thing.
  11. Washed all the crap and dust off from when we went up to Clackline. Yes, it took me that long.
  12. Hi, welcome. Genuine rear tails aren't too expensive, from (my terrible) memory its in the $400 range. I don't doubt someone will correct me ;). Aftermarket ones are a bit dangerous - if you get ones with red indicators (most) you can get done for them. People don't tend to wreck them either... If you want a more up to date look grab the 03+ ones, I think they look pretty good.
  13. Make a second profile on your XBOX, get them to press the XBOX button and sign in as that profile. Or sign in using their own if they already have one.
  14. There ya go: http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...c=19510&hl= Car updates are good and all, but I really do think you should keep it in your thread...
  15. I think in 2 years you'll have more options and should think about it then ;)

    TRD CAI

WTF? AEM make a great CAI for celica. get on ebay USA for a look see. ...? All I was saying is the TRD CAI for the Sportivo wont fit...

    TRD CAI

It wont fit. It needs to be designed in a particular way so that it avoids things like the ECU n etc. The sportivo TB is also angled upwards a bit so that just makes it even worse. If you cant afford a new one any old 1 piece ebay one will do ok, just make sure you buy a decent filter.
  18. Oh thats all really old. If I did end up doing that I would for sure upgrade the oil pump and get a new pan etc. I've got other plans however... being a bit more ambitious. Not sure what I will do ECU wise atm.
  19. PPE Headers at the moment... that'll prolly change as I add more stuff. Added much needed extra mid range punch.
  20. [Edit: Nvm] This thread will help: http://www.newcelica.org/forums/showthread...ght=fuel+filter
  21. Saw a couple when I was in Europe (LHD), gotta say they look nice! I don't care about brands, if it looks good and goes good I'm happy.
  22. Yes, it is illegal in all states unless you do it properly through a dealership using a method like this - http://www.ultratint.com.au/crystalite.htm
  23. Free'er flowing - the alternative which is Crush bends have reduced diameter where the bends are because they are 'crushed'. A mandrel bend is a pre-formed bend created by putting a mandrel through the pipe so that it keeps the same diameter. More difficult to create tho, so costs more, takes more time to make the exhaust as well cause they dont just grab a big bit of pipe and bend, more welding. Heres a few shots for comparison: Crush bent (random off a search) You can see how the diameter of the pipe is reduced around the bends. Mandrel bends (my own) See how the pipe is consistent, even around the bends. Make sure its painted or coated in some way if you get mild steel, if you dont it'll rust. You can see theres a mild steel flange on there thats been painted. Oh and yes I know its not a good idea to route it past the suspension there, but no probs so far, exhaust place did that, wasn't my idea. Just so you know, it was $800ish to install that not including mufflers which I supplied, its also stainless and included tuned headers install, so for you should be like $300 for mild steel + cost of mufflers. Don't forget a mid muffler or 'resonator' whatever you do... or it'll be unlivable.
  24. Just go to your local muffler store and tell em what you want, they'll fab one up. Getting a pre-made one will prolly be more expencive. Get mandrel bends if you can, it'll be more expencive tho.
