  1. so should the increase in vibrations and noise...isn't that why you had the ES engine mount inserts taken out today? was talking about the engine dampers... combined with the ES mount inserts i already have so was I Duy. ES engine mount inserts along with these engine dampners will both increase cabin noise and vibrations even more. Sacrifice comfort for an increase in performance dude. Just wear aviation earplugs (I can show you what they look like next time I see ya).
  2. and maybe one of these will be handy if driving behind Matt again It's part of the HK Racing essentials from my other post (#4).
  3. We should carry one of these just in case we get stuck behind a tarago and mini buses again :P
  4. Toyota battery = $125 Ultra High Performance battery = $165 A mechanic can test your current battery to find out the condition of it. If its good, then it might be the alternator. Everything is connected together and a good mechanic can isolate the problem upon inspection and test driving. Sounds like the service advisor is ripping you off from your post. I was charged $319 in May this year for the following: Change engine oil+filter (oil supplied by me). Change manual transmission oil (oil supplied by me). Change Sparkplugs (IK20 - denso iridium power). Battery test. Wheel rotation, but they failed at alignment saying my car was too low. It was only a 35mm drop from stock height. All I can say is that I won't be going back to the Toyota service centre (SC) in the inner west side of Melbourne, as i got a few things for free: They blasted my ITG pod filter on my cai full of water from a hose - they said it was leaking oil (douche bag mechanic should of known its meant to be an oiled filter). Also engine sprayed the crap out of my engine bay, leaving detergent residue and wetting my HID terminals. What a stooge of a mechanic, because i keep my engine bay spotless using a damp cloth at home. Slipped in a fuel conditioner ($19), which I have no idea what it does. FFS, i feel up on BP Ultimate all the time. Ever since, I had the car serviced there, my mileage went out the window only able to do just under 480kms on a full tank with prob 15 litres left. I was doing 70kms on average with still 1/4 tank left. Since, then I resetted the ECU, and did my best to flush out that fuel conditoner after about 4 fill ups. Since, last weeks GOR cruise, I did 430kms with the Varex exhaust fully open, spirited driving and was still sitting just under half a tank of petrol! 99.99% sure my engine oil (Amsoil RD30) I had supplied them was not used. The red dye was inexistent when i came to pick up my car and also the mechanic telling me they ended up using all 5 bottles (0.96 litres each). Lies and more lies i tell you. car would take approx 4.7 litres inclduing the oil that goes into the oil filter. If they used all bottles, then my dipstick would be past its max marker. But when i checked it was spot on. 2 Weeks ago, my local mechanic did another change oil for me. Even after 2 days (approx 150kms travelled), the red dye in the Amsoil RD30 was still existent. Also, I still had 1/3 of oil left in the 5th bottle. When the dye finally burns off, the oil colour is more of a clear transparent honeycomb colour compared to the Mobil 1 oil the toyota mechanic had used which was more of a deeper honeycomb colour. Also both oils smell differently too. Since last weeks GOR cruise, dye has fully gone. Now for a fact that the 0.01% of doubt I had in regards to my service in May, confirms to me and my local mechanic that the Toyota apprentice mechanic had definitely stolen my supplied oil. Also, they put a dent in my front left passenger door, most likely from their 60 degree sloped gravel customer parking bays. Lastly, they scraped my entire front lip from them test driving after service. I noticed this when i removed the front bumper at home to inspect my air filter which they blasted with water, as i cleaned it properly and re-oiled it after it was dry. Service advisor lied to me that they didnt touch it, after i over heard the mechanic say "his air filter has oil in it" so he hosed it down. Anyway if you are in Victoria, I would simply avoid servicing your car at the toyota SC (inner west side of melb), due to my own negative experience with them negligently treating my car as if it was a hire car. If you feel you are being ripped off, best thing to do is to go elsewhere and find a local mechanic or even another Toyota SC you can trust. I have heard that Cannon Toyota in Camberwell - Victoria, is well-known to have excellent customer service, no hard selling and offer competitive prices both on servicing and products. They have been the top toyota service centre and dealership voted by consumers since they opened in 2001.
  5. Why wasn't it captured on video? slip in a compact digi cam in pocket and rip it out once the car starts rolling Don't tell me you dropped the camera on the floor johnie? :P
  6. so should the increase in vibrations and noise...isn't that why you had the ES engine mount inserts taken out today?
  7. It handled well enuff Simon. But all I could see most of the time was Matt's classic rear end =) ohhhhhhhhhhh the petrol fumes and dirty road water being flicked onto my windscreen from his rear tyres. Was exciting seeing old rollas go harder than the 2 ZREs in front of you.
  8. Duy - If I am able to make it to this cruise, you can mount your video cam in my car. I will give you a thrilling roller coaster ride show within the first 15 mins before the auto power cut off of your video cam. Like Lee said, if there is no pics, then it didn't happen. Rain or shine, you will wet your pants with glee. All I manage to see on the videos was andy and lee pull away from you on straights and bends until they got stuck behind Sunday drivers. Maybe mount your camera in 1stkill's ride as I wanna hear is music pumping to make the vidz more interesting. Btw, it was you who held us all up at the GOR cruise before the 1st stop over... could see BKS high beaming you to GTFO his way prior to the pit in at the cmaping site. *tsk tsk* no better than that green fiesta, tarago and 2 mini buses imo. :P We also had 2 corollas holding us up (simon, matt and I) in the forest run most of the way until they both pulled over at a no-name petrol station. But when they did, the bends started to disappear and we were left with boring straights.
  9. Is that C-One dampening unit for a zze123 or a celica (zzt231)? I remember viewing another member's post of a similar kind and it wasn't made for a corolla.
  10. don't worry lee, there's nothing exciting on the videos except when Duy's wife laid it on him after he downshifted a gear on a curve, without blipping the throttle. Thus, upsetting the balance of the car on the bend and making the tail slide out as it did. Think the other motorist had a fright of his/her life with a corolla rear end heading in their lane. gg lol.
  11. Spotted TOYTRD on Flemington road entering Citilink. Sighted a very nice white 3rd generation GT-Four Caldina ..rego XNC- (couldn't see the rest due to rainy weather) - /drools
  12. I'm not even having a bday party, well not one that I know of If I do, it will be at Gods Kitchen in October! haha
  13. I will be "TBC" for this cruise. Apparently that weekend will be a pretty busy social weekend with family coming down from QLD for the wedding, my gf's niece's 1st bday and also own big 3-Oh bday.
  14. spotted kenshinX in Sth Melb.. thanks for the vibrating cabin massage man... loosened the wax deep inside my ears lol. Thanks for the DVDs Duy, i'll watch the rest at home.
  15. Extreme scenario - May cost him more than that... probably his life and others too if the airbag blows up in his face whilst driving on a freeway/highway. Pretty sure Toyota or autoelectricians won't charge for an inspection or diagnosis of the problem.
  16. Welcome buddy! When you get a chance, show us pics of your light weight sexy ladies in the members ride section :)
  17. Hi billy, Your supra didn't happen to be a white one driving in the outskirts of Geelong on Sunday was it?
  18. hi and welcome! Is the estima the smaller version of the tarago? If so, i think they look like a cool ppl mover.
  19. Just viewed the first couple of vids from recent cruise. Duy!! you lane hop like a... I could hear your wife on the clip scold you to use your indicators and to look properly prior to merging *sigh* asian drivers .
  20. Hey Duy, I believe the racing scene in Hong Kong has a solution to your cabin noise and vibration dilemma. May I intro you to the HK Racing essentials :P Cabin noise suppression: Steering wheel, seat and pedals vibration eliminator:
  21. Count me in even though I have a wedding to attend the day before - so looks like no booze for me. Route 2 looks good. 1. Andy - BLind Kid Seeks - AE92SX - route 2. 2. 1stKill - Aurion 3. Kenshin X - Corolla ZZE123R - any route bcuz all new to me 4. dyslexik (row) - ZZE123 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10.
