  1. So Marcus what are the details. I am already warming the engine up and waiting :D
  2. Good choice Lucio. On Koni's the Sportivo handles superbly and rides the bumps well too. Perfect for what you need, you don't need to spend more than that. If you remember driving my old Sportivo on the Koni's you already know. I would though recommend the rear swaybar to help on turn in as the chasis does seem to have a lot of understeer built in! When you get the Stivo set up I can't wait for our next drive :) Cheers
  3. Hmmm... I might be free. What a shame I might have to come along. Maybe might even get to see a ghost :o <_< Keep me posted on info Cheers
  4. The Sportivo gets real fun to drive once over 6000rpm. This is where the L part of VVTI-L comes into play. In my old modded Sportivo once lift kicked in I would leave DC2 Type-R's wondering where I went, and even pull WRX's back in. Still miss it a little. Hence I Live for 6000rpm :D :D :D
  5. Thank Chompies Me me me I am bringing my 8 :P So far we have: 1. IZZ-FE 2. Omn1potent 3. TRD_141 + 3 4. Danz + 1 5. Nino_Leb 6. Bigbum + 1 7. Bangn 8. Arxis 9. Pecker 10. Chompies (maybe) 11. ozMazda Member (maybe) 12. 2zzrolla 13. Lucio Libre 14. Taka (if Chompies is going) :P ← Well I guess I have to now, someone will need to look after Taka. TAKA what are you doing here. :o This is my old hunting ground from my last car the Sportivo! Now you will learn my secrets and discover my modding bug did not just start with the RX8 :( I should introduce you to eveyone here, Eveyone this is Takahashi... Taka this is everyone. A word of warning to you all, Taka is a pusher... He introduced me to the experience of track days and then encouraged me until now I'm addicted to them :D He may do the same to you!!!! For some here it may interest you that Taka has been to 'destination X' and through the top part you cannot keep with him, he's crazy through those twists! Yes Bill more than you! OK count me in for the Dyno day too! 1. IZZ-FE 2. Omn1potent 3. TRD_141 + 3 4. Danz + 1 5. Nino_Leb 6. Bigbum + 1 7. Bangn 8. Arxis 9. Pecker 10. 6. I am trying to get the Stivo guys down here to come to a few Track Days. I think you just scared them off! Happy to hear though the car came through it OK and that your back on the road.
  7. I just wish I had a video camera on the rear vision mirror :D Would make a popular post I think. Check out Shao's 50mb video of their track day, towards the end you will see a very similiar situation with a corolla in front of him ;) I guess that will be our last trip to destination X for winter. Can't wait for spring now :D
  8. It was good to see the guys who came along, especially E-Gene who finally was able to make it, and arxcis with his brand new Stivo... Damn arcxis you got yourself a good deal on that. E-Gene did you try that stain remover when you get home. It should have got that stain right out :P :P :D It was a little damp and slippery but still a lot of fun. Looking forward to seeing you on the next one. Cheers
  9. Nice video's. Damn I forgot how good a Stivo sounds in Lift. On the track it really does sound like a race car. I bet it surprised a few of the other guys. A lot of people just do not give any little hatches the respect they deserve. Now if I can only get some of the Melbourne boys to come along to a couple of the Sandown days with me so they too can understand how much more fun it is than just going for a cruise. I take it you'll all be going to the next Brisbane one... Once it gets in your blood you get hooked :D
  10. Back to the RAV 4 look hey Lucio. Ahh... All that body roll again! I recommend talking to you know who about getting trade prices on the whiteline (Koni) shock & spring setup with swaybar. For what it will cost you real good value :) 3 more track days have been booked in throughout the year after the next one in July, so no excuses about being away. You have a choice of August 17, October 26 and November 22. Warning though once you do one you'll be hooked. Just fitted some 19" enkei's (same as I had on the sportivo) to the RX8 so as I can keep the stock alloys for track tyres. Cheers mate
  11. Yes I am an exhibitionist... Just love showing you my tail If your lucky I may even waggle it for you :D
  12. Are you saying we might see you there this time! <_< :o ;) :D
  13. Yeah I think I might be up for this one 2. So sick of just driving my car in Peak hour traffic. She needs to stretch her legs. I'll probably see you there Marcus Cheers
  14. What don't you want everyone to know about those 2 gorgeous women you picked up along the way :P ← I thought there where three! :o ← No That 3rd one actually turned out to be a cross dresser. Damn shame thats the one Marcus went off alone with Oooh... I think I said too much :P
  15. What don't you want everyone to know about those 2 gorgeous women you picked up along the way :P
  16. Only problem is it will not be cheap. If Holdens new astra turbo is goinig to go for around 38K then I would imagine the premium one sold with HSV badges would have to be 10K more.
  17. What I hear is 180kw and 230MNm of torque. Those poor front wheels :D Anyone seen the Astra HSV has been considering puting out. Also 180kw with standard 18" or optional 19" wheels It looks pretty hot! They have been looking at it for a while. All the magazines are just starting to pick up on it.
  18. I'll be free. A late night drive sounds good :D
  19. Not a chance in hell. Period. Anyone wants to argue then they are foolish. I owned both at the same time. Could drive them back to back and did. Even did back to back speed runs using signs on the side of the road as markers. Every sigle time my sportivo was at a much higher speed come the end marker (road sign) Am I biased... Not anymore. Traded the sportivo on a Mazda RX8 and kept the SP23. I luv Mazda's and always have, so I in no way am out to prove Toyota is king. I still believe the SP23 is a better car than the sportivo. The build quality is far superior, the ride better/less noisy and the around town driving characteristics better. But give me a winding country road and I'll take the sportivo every time over the SP23 The problem with the SP23 is that once you get to around 5000rpm it just runs out of breath and doesn't pull like 3000-5000. When you drive it hard on gear change the revs stay around that 5000rpm zone. You get continued acceleration but it's not ball tearing acceleration. The Stivo after each gear change the bl@@dy little thing explodes with acceleration as you all know! And if you launch with 3000-4000rpm on the clock you have just negated most of the advantage the SP23 had. Remember theses are mostly younger people excited about their car and their choice. Everybody wants to feel their car is great and to justify it to others. This in many cases overides reason. Heck a lot of us on this forum have done the same. I wished my sportivo could hang onto Astra Turbo's and stock WRX's but that didn't happen until I lavished my sportivo with mod after mod then finally I could and beat some of them to boot, but until then I was beat every time unless the other driver screwed up. On every car forum in every part of the world there is the same posturing 'My D!CK is bigger than your D!CK' and there always will be. To hell with reason that's why they are so much fun! :D :D
  20. Peekay and I did this as one of our first mods to the Stivo early last year. It does make a difference especially in the warmer weather as the car does not seem to suffer from the heat soak it used to. On a warm day before the mod my throttle body got very warm to hot to the touch but after this mod it was only ever slightly warm to the touch. It's a good cheap mod you can do yourself.
  21. Also have a friend with his new EVO coming as well. I can't wait to see it! 1. Ilivfor6 2. Peekay34 3. IZZ-FE 4. lucio_libre 5. artivo (50/50 chance of being able to make it) 6. Tony (New Mitsubishi EVO) 7. 8. 9. 10.
  22. The drive has to be moved to the 27th (The Sunday following) as Peekay just found out he has to fly to Sydney for work. I told him it was easy rectified as all he had to do was quit! He thought though that it would be easier to just push the drive back by a week. So it is now the following week Sunday 27th Feb (Same time and details as previous). I still think you should have just quit :P :P :D
  23. My personal preference would be to go the Unichip first (mainly because I have seen how it has worked on a few 2zzg's now while I have not seen the others). I would think the Unichip offers more tuning points than the S-AFC 2, but that's just a guess.
  24. Good... Who alse is going to blow right past me in LIFT doing 200 :o :o 1. Ilivfor6 2. Peekay34 3. IZZ-FE 4. lucio_libre 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10.
