      Arrived. yay! one to go!

  5. Indeed i have John, indeed i have <_< Well, i did spend more than 30 bucks on a pair, but i thought they were newer design. Seems the place i got them in the US sent older design.. I should have researched more, its my fault. Im sure they would have been ok, but i mounted the passenger side in a more forward location, not thinking about water proofness (or lack there of). Im sure the bulbs are fine, although the passenger one didnt have the 25,000k tag on it. So could be water logged ballast (i thought it would just cr@pped itself) or a miss-matched bulb. Still sucks tho.. Hooked up some waterproof digital jobbies already, see how they go.
  6. Just had a thought... I washed the car after the install... Hmm i wonder if that passenger ballast got wet....? they should be waterproof tho.... Hmmmm,.... Maybe not waterproof... they are the old style.. just looking at new waterproofs. Hmmm...
  7. Ok, installed the 25,000k "Ocean blue" HID fogs today... Drivers side was easy. Headlight removal, plug'n'play. mounted the ballast. Easy. Passengers side was a nightmare. OEM HID washer bottle almost butts up or sits on top of the passenger fog. Argghhhh! Barely any room to move. Headlight removed, loosened all inner and lower guard lining. Still no room. I persisted for over an hour, cutting my arms up, suffering cramps, sunburn and humid hot day.. OK, finally got it in and plugged up. WhoooHooo! So i start them up tonight for pics. One doesn't ignite properly. Then it does, with a different colour!! Arghhhh noooooo! and its the passenger one. FTMFL. Ive got some 30,000k "Hyper Blue" to swap them out with, or JDM spec 3,000k "deep Yellow".... Not looking forward to tomorrows swap out..
  8. Grrrr... busted my B@lls today changing the fogs on the LS to 25,000k HID's. One bulb is different colour!! And of course, its on the side that was the biggest pain in the bum to do... Whyyy meeee?!!

lol I think Pete means 2 point 5

  9. Yup to: SuperDave- No Bull, straight up tech guy and very helpful. Straight to the point without being an a5s about it. BG Pete- no need to explain why. He brings a fresh and enjoyable angle to the sometimes sterile threads and a computer wizkid. Hiro- This guy knows his biz. KenshinX- Great organizer and very active here, seems to have more time than me to spare! :D mick.wheelz- Knows his stuff too, if he can keep his language a little cleaner! :D
  10. second step to wheel heaven arrived today. Waiting for rears now...

  11. Pretty sure you have to drill holes in the roof to allow the bolts thru..
  12. As paid members, i believe votes should be given by members to vote in those potential mods that have put up their hands for the job. It can be anonymous or open. I think thats a fair way to get a result for everyone.
  13. I can confirm that Toyota Australia has put in offer of interest on the GT... Now its up to Toyota Japan...

  16. Good to hear. New strips or new colour driver? Did they replace the faulty one?
  17. Car: Normal wash(2 bucket method) & rinse first, then Meguiars Bug and Tar remover. Gentle spot polishing with this product will clean all the nastiness. Headlights: Wash only. Maybe maybe Meguiars "Plastx" polish if really needed, but bugs should just hose off (high pressure) and wash off. Windscreen: Wash, AutoGlym Glass polish. Im sure there are other brands out there you can use, but ive had great results from the above Meguiars products. I must stress to remove all contaminants such as bugs as soon as possible.

  20. Looking awesome Wy, the cruise looked like a great day too.
  21. Welcome Darren, Im sure the NSW guys will help you out and have a cruise or two. All the guys up there are top blokes and more than friendly, they also know of some good eats around Sydney too!
  22. Yeah, the fly by wire throttle plays the same tricks. With the right foot work, you can confuse it a little and get more out of it. The LS also has switchable throttle/transmission settings for more poke. Still I rarely want to drive it hard, in fact, i find myself under the spped limit quite a few times.... maybe im just getting old! :D
