Can't find what you want or can't decide what you want? I feel your pain...

cant decide, i know what i want, just within reason and minimal effort to get them to fit.

  2. Racing Dash SMD replacement license plate lights.. Result: Fancy arty shot of both beasts: ooh the colours... :D Wheel decision has been made, just working on the final offsets..
  3. Great to hear you got it all working smoothly, congrats :D I thought the crimp terminals may be a bit how-ya-goin. Anyhoo, Be sure to strip off all the clear poly cover, and gently sand the pad with some 800grit wet'n'dry paper. Tin your pads, tin your wire, and have a hot small iron and solder with a tiny blob of additional solder. I would say heat and contamination would be your problems. Be sure to get some heat shrink to to slip over the solder/end of the SMD strip. If needed also clean the tabs with a little metho. Q: did your solder have a flux core? Flux assists with removing contamination..I also hope you used lead solder. Lead free solder sux. Hope that helps a little Edit: Found this vid,
  4. +1 Megs Interior Detail.. :D
  5. Ben, granted they may be using the FAE, but still, it wont yield 108kW at the wheels, it flywheel figures.. the FAE is only good for an extra 12kw and 400 rpm lower torque band.. Ray, have you sent an email to the place in Malay yet? cant hurt to see what they offer with their setups. Could save some time...and tell us all whats up :D
  6. Check out the comparisons at Toyota.com.au or drop into a Toyota dealer and grab the brochure. Its easier for you to check that out than re-post it here. Range Comparison....
  7. Ive played plenty of movies, all seem to work. I think .MKV might be the only format it has a hard time with, but almost all other formats are fine (if not just convert any problematic formats). Just chuck em on the SD card, USB stick or disc and away you go. Screen res is 800X480 so good enough for a screen of that size.
  8. Another Big Fella rescue.. :D
  9. Yeah Barra, still happy. Hasnt crapped itself yet! :D Occasional freak out with the auto dimming on the screen, but overall, for the price still a great little unit. Easy to update with plenty of free (ah-hem) maps about the place, customizable interfaces around the place too.
  10. is so angry at major retailers b!tching about no GST on internet imports under AU1000. They have screwed us enough over the last 50 years, suck it up w@nkers and stop being so bloody greedy. Offer better prices, more variety and decent customer service and see how things change!! >:(

It was ok for them to out-price poor old mum & dad shops and destroy almost all of them but when smaller retailer OS does it to the majors, Oooh Sh!t no! they cant stand for that..

      Its called, GREED pete..

  11. I would also assume thats flywheel HP/PS. There is no way a 2ZRfe will pump out 160 odd killer wasps if the kit gives 63% increase. That figure is assuming the 100kW stock flywheel figures. So minus a minimum 30kW drive train loss and your looking at 125-135kW after S/C'ing at the wheels.. How do you get one? Order it from Switzerland!
  12. Well, thats not bad at all, thats around 165-170kW for 10k. That price is installed, so i wonder what price the offer for kit form, and how its tuned to suit. Thanks for that John!
  13. Ohh oh. I just got my LS430/Celsior (UCF30R) Master catalog magazine the other day... look out wallet!
  14. see my update on the stupid thread.. Im thinking what 01 VEY is thinking
  15. They will have to strip and sand blast again. Those faded spots actually look to me like not enough PC was applied to those areas. The pin holed area shows signs of a contamination of the alloy prior to PC'ing, ie oily residue off fingers etc. Most if not all PC should be UV stable, Its used almost all the time in the metal/construction industry, and colours fastness is one of the benefits of using PC. Sometimes you may get a little white hazing, which can be polished off easily, but fading in one month, hell no, there is something seriously wrong..
  16. John and I have been looking for some time on the jap Auris websites, despite the crazy custom stuff they do over there, still no sight of boosting anywhere yet. Im not sure on the complete details, but the Trust S/charger i was looking at for the Lexus, comes with a E-manage "Ultimate". Not sure if its suitable for your application but they do use it on the 3UZ which also has VVti. Maybe a go-er? All the best Ray.
  17. Keep an eye out on some of the auto-auction sites and ebay.. When i was looking for Recaro's for the ZRE, i did find a few for sale for very reasonable prices. Lexus does do a small ZRE like vehicle. I forget its name, its only just been released in Europe i think, and i would expect to pay 3X the price of Recaro's or Sparco's for those seats. OUCH! Anyways.. back to the topic: You can always measure up the front width and base width of an Aurion seat just to see if its out of the question or a viable option. It may just be possible.. Or have an auto upholsterer add in lumbar support padding. Its quite easily done, I just remembered i was looking at one of these kits a while back.... Universal Inflatable Lumbar Support Bladder In practice.. http://www.solsticeforum.com/forum/f62/how-customize-seats-inflatable-lumbar-support-53766/ Or fancy shiatsu massager lumbar support Hope that helps your back... :D
  18. Havent seen any other seat transplants other than the Japs doing Recaro swaps. There a re a number of cushy Recaro's in the line up, not all ultra hard sports seats, most recaros are very nice and comfortable... but costly. Saying that, if they fit width ways, you can get a custom rail/s made up to suit. Be sure to lower the height of the bloody things. I have to agree, the seats are shocking. I either get a dead thigh or hunched back due to the height. The Ls on the other hand.... sweet heaven.
  19. just picked up the LS with nice 20% tint...

maybe the lexus glass is darkened? dark tint could compound the effect?

    3. dutchie101

      dutchie101

it may be, but it didnt seem tinted like most other OEM glass, thats why i thought it would be safe @ 20%. Hmmmm

    4. GTL05T

      GTL05T

20% is just right, my mate has 15% on his ZRE and its a bit hard to see out of the windows at night.. Your LEXUS will look balling soon.

  20. Good luck with the project Ray, ill be glued to your post when you make one :)
  21. Havent herd that sound for a while.. very nice and neat conversion..Well done! B)
  22. Yeah im thinking clouds now too, Zelos are hot but just a little too close to Holden "Internationals" wheels... Eeewwww! I would never forgive myself!
