  1. Some good news Everyone.......... Had the car towed to Toyota this morning and got the alternator replaced for free :) saved $530 ( Not sure how much Toyota would have charged if it wasnt covered) This is the first time ive actually claimed something under the vehicle warranty. Mine died out at 106,500 Km and Lasted 4 and a half years. The Service advisor said that there is no specific lifetime on Alternators. He did say that a few cars less then 1-2 years old needed replacement alternators.
  2. Yeah im having the car towed to the dealer first thing in the morning. Hopefully it is the alternator and nothing else. Seriously, if its the Battery, ill be so annoyed, i wasnt able to use the car at all today :(
  3. The Charge light did not come up at all. The Battery was changed a year and a half ago and is still under warranty with NRMA. At first i thought it was the battery as its been fairly cold in Sydney which i thought may have caused it.So i called NRMA to have a new battery installed For free, after the Tech checked the car, he said its not the battery but the alernator, as it isnt charging the battery. On the other hand i was going to my warranty booklet, the car still has part of the 3 year extended Mechanical Protection warranty remaining. Looks like that the alternator is covered. Will give the dealer a call first thing in the morning. No not at all.. It was the last thing i was expecting to stuff up in the car. I do have Subs in the car but they have been there for almost 5 yrs. Not sure if they would have caused any damage.
  4. I used the car a few times today, when i tried starting the car up tonight it didnt start :( So i assumed it was a flat battery so i called NRMA to replace the Battery. After NRMA checked the battery he said that the Alternator isnt charging the Battery hence the reason its not starting and quoted me $530 for a new Alternator. I gotta admit, i know crap all about Alternators, should i just get NRMA to replace it or should i look for a specific brand? Also what is the life of the Alternaters, my one is almost 5 yrs old.
  5. Yeah mount/high-rise spoiler really stands out, Its not that common though, i havent seen it on many Camry's. Might go to the Toyota Dealer sometime next week and get a quote on the 40 Series Rotors and Calipers. My next upgrade will be the Sunroof, most likely the Hollandia 900 Series. I had to hold this off for a bit because a few people have said that most installers do a Dodgy Job :(
  6. Yeah you shouldnt have problems with 8.5, aslong as your insurer knows about it, its all good :) I think 9.5 can cause the brake to fail... I duno.. If 9.5 Inch drives ok, I wonder how Aurion will go with 22 inch wheels :) I totally agree with you mate.. Would really suck to pay the full repair of your car and someone elses car just because of the rim width. You were pretty lucky to find what you like in that size, Normally all the good looking 20s are 8.5 Inch
  7. Are any tyres manufactured in Oz these days? Some of the Bridgestone ones are still made here, like the RE001's and a few of the Bob Jane ones. Falken Tyres are made in Japan from Memory, With Falken Tyres u get the bang for the buck. Awsome Prices i gotta admit With Dunlop and Goodyear Tyres, they Charge Premium prices even though they make it in China and Taiwan.
  8. Id recommend either Bridgestone ADRENALIN RE001 or the Yokohama A Drive R1. Toyo is another good brand to look at, Epecially Proxies (if available) Dunlop and Goodyear were always good OZ tyres but i havent touched them since they offshored to Asia, so i cant say much about the quality.
  9. Got one question guys, not sure if anyone can answer this, Driving Wise, is there much or any difference between the Kappa 17s wheels and the Vortex 17s Wheel or is it just looks?
  10. If you can get 20 X 8 Inch, you should be fine. You can get 20 X 8.5 Inch aswell but you might have issues with insurance. Any Wider then 8.5 Inch your asking for trouble
  11. Go to www.carsales.com.au and type in "aurion sx6" or "Aurion zr6" under the used cars section. Should find some there :) Upload them here aswell for others to see :)
  12. I agree with Andrew and Daryl. On the other hand you can try one of those Rip off fuel Injector services that the dealer offers or use the Fuel Injector System cleaners. The Calculations you mentioned sound about right :)
  13. Yeah i have had this problem since the launch of the new website.
  14. Its the same High Mount Spoiler as yours. The one on the boot... :) I like the Red Calipers on your Camry, wouldnt mind getting them for mine :)
  15. I want to increase the Power on my 5.5 Gen Camry. What do i do and what do i need,,,,,,,,,
  16. Id say stick to 225/45/R18 or 235/45/R18. Its no use taking the risk to compromise on safety for you, your family and the vehicle for a few hundred dollars. In the long run if you have an accident theres a possibility that the Insurance will reject the claim... The good thing is that at the moment alot of Tyre stores have a end of financial year sale, so you might be able to save quite a bit by bargaining. If you need to, grab the phone and call a few tyre stops within 20 KM's and grab a few quotes :)
  17. Hey Everyone, When i click on the Photo's Tab on this web site, I receive the following error 107187] Sorry, but you do not have permission to use this feature. 18. I got the Air Con service done at the dealer about 3 Weeks ago and i have noticed that the aircon still smells a little stong. (Not as bad as it use to be though) Is there any DIY products that anyone has used previously that they would recommend,,,,,
  19. This one will be pretty good aswell :) Click here

    Sunroof

I got 3 quotes, one from a place in Milperra, Cronulla and a Toyota Dealer. Milperra - $2300 Cronulla - $2400 Sydney City Toyota - $6500 (For this price, I think the female quoted me for a new roof) Your absolutely right, ill do my homework before i let any installers touch my Ride :)

    Sunroof

Hey Everyone, I have finally decided to go ahead and get a Sunroof for my 05 Camry. Does anyone know any good sunroof dealers/installers in sydney or brands i should be going for and how much should i be spending Also is there anything else i should be looking out for when looking for a sunroof.
  22. Looks like both remotes have to be re-programmed...... Take it to the dealer (or Alarm Specialist) and have it checked. I know Toyota charges alot to look at the alarm, approx $120 an hour.
