  1. i got mine painted for $30, and the stivo grill for $50 color matched, they look great. i think places want to look at them, to see if they require a primer coat, i think for mine they just gave it a light sand, and sprayed it. normally aftermarket parts are quite rough, where as genuine u just gotta sand it, no primer.
  2. sorry for the 'err duh' factor, but what exactly a shift light?
  3. thats what the guy said i just had a quick look at some pictures, i assume these are Jap spec rollas, and all these have the exhaust located on the left. i could be wrong about what i said tho, not sure. http://forum.tomsracing.com.au/viewtopic.php?p=12 http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/gallery/au/runx_r1
  4. yeah that looks like what she described to me, that the insides are black instead of silver.
  5. i have no idea, but i would assume that it would accomodate the stock globes, if your interested give them a call, it was the receptionist called maria who told me about them. JR Autoconcept: 720 Station St, Boxhill, Vic 3128 Tel: 98908804 / 98974088
  6. when i went down to pick up my grill, i spoke to one of the guys (@ JR autoconcept, melb) and he told me that tom's are currently designing/building, a full system including the manifold down for the sportivo. since atm based on my understanding, that our AU spec, has the exhaust located on the righthand side, where as jap sec's are the lefthand side, there currently isnt an exhaust system for our AU stivo. (correct me if im wrong) also they have headlamps (front) availiable for the rolla, about $500 a set, which are blacked out inside, instead of the silver finish, so i'm guessing it would sort of leave u with the look of a dc2 integra.
  7. im with mike on this one, for the price u pay, it definately rips and is value for money. u say there isnt much difference between 30 and 34k, since some of the on the road cost are percentages of the base price, it turns out to be alot more than a 4k difference. where does the weight come from? have u seen the difference between the size of the engines between the stivo and a levin? it makes the levin engine look tiny, so im sure that could be one of the reasons why it is abit heavier. (no offense to non stivo rolla drivers). i believe, that if u had less than 34k (includin on the road) the best buy would be the stivo. with a great engine, leather interior, lift, etc. the rolla has alot more potential to look good, than a clio does, and for enthuasis its alot more fun to play with, mod wise. the clio would be over 35k (i'm assuming) to put on the road, so for the price category 30-34k the stivo is a clear winner B)
  8. i think thats a great idea. even though i have no idea where kensignton is i assume its in the city? sport1vo i dont think u will find a day where everyone is free, so maybe it would be an idea if we got everyone who would be interested in coming to meets, wether it be regular or wateva, to post avalibilites, that way we can pick a day/time which would suit the majority of people. i assume some ppl may have committments such as family/church/sports every sunday so perhaps an afterhour time would be better? im pretty sure most people wouldnt have on-going weekly committments friday/saturday nights, or even late sunday. but yeah, lets organise this already :P ! - rich
  9. thanks e-gene! =) yeah i just tried it just then, there is only one way to sit it on, and its quite hard to get it wrong because there is like a groove that aligns it, so it sits exactly where it is supposed to go. ill have a go on the weekend, thanks for all the help =D
  10. hi guys, i just recieved a set of eyelids in the mail courtesy of e-gene ;) was just wonderin whats the best way to install. asides from the lids it came with lots of squares of double sided tape. i wanted to ask 1. where is the best place to position the tape, what size pieces to cut it into, does it matter which side goes on what (i noticed one side of the tape is labelled red) 2. where should the lid sit? should u follow the outline of the headlamp, or should u let it slightly cover the gap? basically should u be more inclined to cover the gap, or not. as i notice that the eyelid can sort of hang off the edge of that gap as it has bits that let it cling on.
  11. my clutch pedal was getting really really soft (10,000 kms) i had it taken in for rattles, they said the gear selector cables were loose and "cable modification" was done. when i got the car back, the clutch was alot more harder, which is good, cuz it was gettin abit hard to drive with it being so soft.
  12. lol id guess TRD - toyota racing development 141 - 141 kilowatts but hey i could be wrong :P
  13. took my car for a check up today at the nunawading dealership, in melb. they are awesome, and always very helpful. (i had a loose exhaust bracket awhile back and they fixed it straight away) i complained about 1. engine noise (ticking, rattling, knocking) 2. bad egg smell when giving it some stick 3. rattles from the dash they took my car for a spin, had it in the workshop for about 2 hours, and this is what i got on my invoice in regards to the above 1. engine noise normal 2. normal smell from exhaust, advise on high octane for better smell & performance (err cough cough f*** optimax) 3. checked for rattles, found lever cable loose, carried out cable modication. upon getting my car back i found that the clutch was alot more stiffer (it was really soft and hard to feel before) the gear box alot more sharp, as in the gears slotted into place, instead of feeling worn, and the gas pedal seemed more responsive. also found the car doesnt rattle as much now =D the guy who served me took the time to listen to my complaints, and to explain what they found, so very pleased at the level of customer service in comparision to others, and they have the best setup ive seen. he also confirmed that a proper solution is on the table for the gear cables, and that when it becomes avaliable, there will not be a recall, but if u are unsatisfied u will have to chase them up, then they will order the appropriate parts, and fix your car.
  14. sorry guys as i told e-gene, wont be able to make it. have work 7am-noon, every saturday morning, and i live quite far from the city, so wouldnt be able to get there in time. hopefully we can do it again sometime soon, would love to see a nice bunch of stivos together. ;)
  15. thanks pecker for hosting. wow, hit lift 1,2,3 wish the sound quality was better tho, but awesome nonetheless :D
  16. sorry to sound abit silly but can i ask are their any disadvantages/cons invovled with the front strut brace? do they put additional stress on other parts of the car? why arent they installed as standard if they improve handling? warranty? insurance (would u have to let your insurer know about it)
  17. good work blade hunter for hosting it, gotta love it when dans car hits lift. congrats on the extractors dan, u must be grinning like this -> :D the car sounds great. i never knew stock put out around 100kw @ the wheel, i always assumed it was less.
  18. 200? thats definately abit much. most i would pay is 150 i guess, its such an eyesore. i have no idea how difficult it is to take the door apart to get to the inside. is that how they do it? take apart the door, and whack it from the inside? my dent is right bellow the driver side window, i have no idea how the hell it got hit there, must of been a 4 wheel drive.
  19. even though i am very fussy about where i park, always park near nice cars, close to poles, give the cars around me plenty of space some idiot has still managed slam their door into my driver side and leave a nasty dent the size of a 5 cent piece. looks like someone hit a hammer on it <_< anyone have any idea how much it cost to fix somethin like that, i know its not worth the trouble tho.
  20. hey! sorry these are a bit late (i dont want to steal any light from other ppls designs), im not sure if you guys will like em, but after a few weeks of nagging my friend, whos a gun at graphic design, we got together and "scratched" up a few designs. tell me what you think :P (low quality, just for preview, and i know the tacho looks more like a clock, haha we got lazy, will fix it up if ppl like the intial designs)
  21. does anyone else here find it hard to drive in peak hour traffic? when its bumper to bumper, stop start, walking pace speed. i find it abit hard to drive smoothy as your always caught between not moving, 1st and 2nd.
  22. what an ***hole you would think people would be abit more nice about it. im glad u asked him to put his car where his mouth is, not that there is anything wrong with the levin, but definately his attitude. where abouts were u when this happend? if i ever see it parked somewhere, ill take photos of it, before and after i key it :D
  23. add me to the database :D richi - 03 black stivo melbourne south eastern suburbs
