  1. Very True Taka. My brother has a Territory Ghia RWD, For a SUV it handles nicely, but yes, the average real world consumption is no less than 15L/100km around town. Goes down to about 10.5 on long highway runs. The Turbo would be much worse!
  2. But the smell from the exhaust is just unbearable :P
  3. That's just a complete unknown. No-one here that I know of is yet to know what Internals are like on the new engine, so you will need to do alot of research into it. No doubt though the 2zr-fe's internals will be designed to be light weight and efficient, so that means skinny little rods etc etc, just like the 1zz-fe. There is a reason for the relatively low red-line. If it was stronger - Toyota would set a higher red line. I think what MT is getting at is $8k is quite alot of dough for a bolt on turbo set up with no internal work at all (Essentially what many people can do in their own garage, let alone a work shop). Have a look at Xoom's garage to see what is involved to make a strong and reliable turbo set up and you can see where alot of money would go.
  4. Legend x 2 ! :DAzza, you just made me hungry....
  5. Completely agree. But it's a hard one here. Most members of TOCAU are owners of newer models which immediately makes it different to clubs/forums such as Toymods which have a big mix of different models and years. As such, there's going to be much more 'real' mods happening to cars there such as full conversions, forced induction etc etc. Most members here are only (And seemingly happy to) just scratch the surface of car modding which means it's going to be limited to Induction, Exhausts, ECU and basic suspension and cosmetic mods. As time goes on, more in depth modification will come along, maybe, but in the mean time, we need to get more Club like activities rather than forum banter happening. Summer is upon us, Bring on the meets/cruises :D
  6. RE001 is not available in a 205/45/17. I've done some research because I'm due for a new set soon. Check out... Toyo Proxes 4 Yokohama A Drive AR01 Yokohama S Drive Fulda Excelero Michellin Pilot Preceda. All are available in 205/45/17 88W (Or better) I've chosen to go with the Michellins because they grip as well as the others but are quieter.
  7. 205/45 would be stretched a little on the 7.5" rim width you have, 215/40 would be better. But rather than paying money and buying another set of tyres, just raise your car a little seeing you're on coilovers, play around with some different heights.
  8. Is there a spreadsheet/list of gear ratios so I can confirm this??? Reason: the 1ZZ 5-speed ratios are much closer than the Sportivo 6-speed... dubious about the new 6-speed having closer ratios yes, I have done all researchs. Check, the internet toyoya on 2007 model.... 2007 Corolla 1 3.116:1 2 1.904:1 3 1.310:1 4 0.969:1 5 0.815:1 6 0.725:1 Final 4.529:1 2003 Corolla 1 3.166:1 2 1.904:1 3 1.310:1 4 0.969:1 5 0.815:1 6 - Final 4:312:1 Only the Final ratio's differ and not by much....
  9. I think CAI has to be the most raised topic of all time including all the questions you've asked, closing this one. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...?showtopic=5503
  10. If you want attention hire a 57chev....
  11. I'll change the heading, otherwise no-one will know...
  12. <_< And WTF does this have to do with Corollas? Can you please post in the correct section. moved
  13. He doesn't state it can only do 0-100 in 11 seconds..... "Toyota says the manual Corolla gets from 0-100km in 9.7 seconds and has a fuel economy of 7.4L/100km (using 91 RON fuel), however in reality unless you are going to be brutal on take off and on the gearbox, the 0-100 times are going to be around the 11 second mark. In other words, incredibly slow." He's saying in real world driving this is what you would expect unless you drive it at its hardest which is true. At the end of the day it's an economy spec 4cyl car and you don't buy it if you want a performance car...
  14. That's what I'm talking about baby!!!
  15. New IS-F at Laguna Seca.... Low Km demonstrators grab them now! I have to say, for a 5.0lt V8, I'm not quite convinced about the way they sound, they really need to listed to a RS4 to get a few tips on how it should sound... Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load! Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  16. Geez and you guys all say Commodore drivers are bogans!
  17. Alot of the Sportivo's here seem to be flogged day to day, have you read of many engine failures? Put any car in the wrong hands and it will be prone to blowing up now won't it?
  18. I think the MRS/MR2 has 5 studs so you would need to get the discs with no stud holes and have them drilled to suit or have the disc re-drilled to suit the 4 x 100 pcd of the Corolla.
  19. Why would Toyota put forged internals in a FE engine? Engineers brief would be to seek to reduce manufacturing cost, as well as reciprocating mass as much as possible to reduce noise, emissions, fuel consumption etc etc etc, so that means cheaper cast internals. The rev-limit says it all.
  20. CAP

    my cory

How many km's has your engine done?
  21. Congrats, nice choice! :D I like the look of this model so much more than the new one.
  22. If you don't have fog lights there should be heaps of room with no obstruction unless you didn't remove the intake resonator (The white bottle).
  23. Ah yes, the 2zz with the special custom block that has an inspection hole so you can see the condition of the rods :D I think the picture of your 1st 1zz clutch was the best though, it looked a bit hairy
