  1. :P :D You both have a point but what Pippy is trying to say is that some people need to take the plunge and just give things a try instead of waiting for others to always do it, if it doesn't work out at least you then know if it can/can't be done, and it is satisfying to do things on your own.
  2. I certainly know about exploding car batteries.
  3. That's the intake snorkle/pipe. The resonator is the white "bottle" below the intake, inside the quarterpanel behind the splash guard only on 1zz engined models.
  4. Otaku, It will be safe and wont affect your warranty at all.
  5. It's a low price bracket but you should be able to find quite alot of fun/reliable options other than those two. Personally, if your intention is to keep the cost down, I'd really stay away from grey imports. 1.8 n13 SSS Pulsars still go nicely have an LSD, aren't fetching too much, and you really wouldn't need to spend anything on them. A Nissan Exa Targa should be able to satisfy your convertible desire without costing too much too. These are only two but you've got quite a few options to look at.
  6. No I think it's just a common problem with the soft c@ck standard pressure plate/clutch. Mine does grab between slow shifts from time to time. Frustrating. Toyota states it's all ok, personally I can't wait till my clutch wears out so I can get something better put in like an exedy. Pity my wallet can wait though
  7. I've always thought it's silly for Manufacturers not to place the battery in the boot. Less heat, etc. Mercedes does it, don't see why others don't.
  8. Unfortunately I never did a before and after dyno with my Remus so I really can't tell you what the actual gain was, I can only give you a seat of the pants impression. With that said though, my brother had a 1990 2.0 Prelude a few years back to which a Remus was fitted and that too felt like it had more go after installation.
  9. Yeah had dinner at Docklands, you need to try the seafood platter at the Blue Grill :D
  10. :o Did anyone say Super Sleeper ! Welcome Mad_Aussie
  11. There's already one in Workshop Submissions. :)
  12. :P Just buy a Valiant two door with the 245 hemi and take the roof off with an oxi-torch and turn up to the summernats to fit right in :D
  13. Yay! :D Benefits: -It's a perfect fit, fits to existing mounting points and is a simple bolt off - bolt on job. It's fully ADR compliant so you'll never have any problems. -It's looks great - especially the 2zz-ge one that has twin round tips instead of the twin squares I have for the 1zz-fe. -It sounds good. It gives a nice throaty note but isn't loud and doesn't drone. It has a tendancy to get louder as it breaks in (Warms up), It sounds especially good after a long free-way run. It also gives the occassion pop and crackle when downshifting. -Most importantly it feels to have given the car a bit more torque in low-mid range ( What it'll do to a 2zz-ge I can't tell you ) it also seems to do what it's supposed to because when I installed it the intake was immediately louder (meaning the engine is breathing better) Disadvantages: -It's f*@ken expensive at $850 for a flanged rear muffler! for a bit more you can get a full stainless system or the same price a full steel system elsewhere. -If you want a loud look at me exhaust, it's not for you because it just isn't loud. The Melbourne boys and girls will attest to this hearing my car on the Dyno recently. You'll hear it more from in the car than outside.
  14. Shao just cries at what Northy's done to the Black Phantom :P
  15. IMHO the SP23 is a better built, more refined and sweeter handling package. The Sportivo will feel lighter and has more raw performance. Take them both for a good test drive ( Not just one but test drive at least twice at two different dealers so you get to drive on different roads ) open and close everything, play with all the gadgets and see which one suits you best.
  16. Put a small scratch under your bonnet yourself to eliminate number 3! What sort of shop do you have ?
  17. I'd luv to but occupied on all the dates sorry :(
  18. I almost went to SEMA, I had trade passes but organising flights to Vegas at the last minute is a bit too costly though. Impressed with the Avalon, hope the Australian version keeps the same look and doesn't get stuffed styling like the current model.
  19. He's just still upset and shaken from the Snowflake being dented :P He needs a hug Northy :D
  20. @rseholes! I know what it's like Craig, fortunately never happened to my Corolla but happened to my old car. People seem to turn into d!cks when the roads are wet.
  21. I suppose everyone who's installed an SRI or CAI has Danthuyer? No offence, I'm just not really getting the point of the question? I really don't see anything wrong with someone being a little inventive and trying the DIY route.
  22. Hey Kcorro, I think we may have the beginnings of another "Pink Bits" here... Those in VIC who've seen it will know what I mean. Those who haven't, imagine a black Ascent with Pink Wheels, Bodykit, Wiper arms, mirrors and interior bits and pieces It's worse in real life than reading about it!
  23. He's referring to the Noob Corolla member who did the DIY SRI by removing the bottom half of the airbox. Here it is http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...=50entry50086
