  1. ...but having owned a GZE before, 44gze know's that with going the supercharging route, he will have a lot more useable power, and torque right through the range instead of just top end. Supercharged rolla's are great. I'd definately go the charged route instead of the expensive NA route. Ditto. N/A tuning is $$$ expensive for little gains and mostly always made up top. Forced induction will give broader gains particularly in the engines torque characteristics for the same money spent. In reality, members here have only chipped away at the tip of the iceberg when it comes to engine mods on the zz series motors. No-one is yet to have done any sort of internal work.
  2. 1 & 2 are equally nice choices, number 3 is definetely out of the question.
  3. Rollagirl also - but she's now a GT-4 owner, there was also Nets as well, but she sold her car. But there's also Ravenous (Corolla) and another who owns a ae92 but can't remember her handle - she doesn't seem to post anymore. But yeah it's definetely a boys club at the moment and more girls would be most welcome :P
  4. ← True, but with that said, Forced induction will work far better with EFI because of the more even fuel distribution to each cylinder.
  5. 1zzfe don't forget the classic 1984 930 Porsche. It's the 911 with the 3 litre turbo with the classic 911 shape with the wheels, big wheel arches and the huge rear wing....LOVE IT ;) ← Still a fan of those too, they still turn heads after 20 years, but after having driven one, I was a bit dissapointed with the rubbery long gated shift and lets not forget that frightening lift-off oversteer. Still went like stink though But my very brief 993 Turbo drive was unforgettable
  6. The problem you face is, the 4afe is carb, so before you go to forced induction whether it's s/c or turbo you need to convert to and EFI, which means you still need to swap for a 4age. You can't simply put a 4ag head on the 4af block because they're slightly different shape which can lead to problems down the line. So putting in the 7afe you already purchased isn't such a bad idea and will give you gains over the 4afe. Because it's injected it's then ready for forced induction down the track.
  7. Would have to be the Porsche 993 911 Turbo in white. The 996 and 997 are awesome but the 993 was the last and best of the air cooled engines and 'old style' body. It's Low & Wide the way I like it. But the upcoming AMG E63 will be my new dream car! 6.2 litres of AMG built V8 goodness.
  8. Euroworx For Enquiries/Prices on... iForged custom forged wheels Vellano custom forged wheels Other wheels may also be available upon enquiry. Please e-mail parts@euroworx.com.au
  9. Switch to a heavier shift knob, that should help out.
  10. Worn shocker? Perhaps wasn't as noticeable before it was lowered.
  11. I think it would be good if we could all meet up to do a proper photoshoot. I'm scoping out a couple of locations I have in mind East and North East that are quiet on the weekends and perfect to get all cars into one shot. Or like old times, we can meet up at Toyota HQ in Port Melbourne. Still the best photoshoot location so far. Interested ? I'm thinking maybe the afternoon of Sunday 11th?
  12. Auscarts in Port Melbourne is good if we want to go Karting I'm up for it! :D
  13. Spotted 2fst4u crossing Warrigal Road near Holmsglen about 7.55 this morning
  14. If your using the standard of airbox, removal of this will make your MAF sensor read incorrectly as the airflow will "tumble" past the MAF sensor rather than pass straight through it. If you've removed it, put it back in. All the Corolla's will have this in the airbox lid.
  15. Damn I was gonna take your ***** on biatch!!!! :P Ill just have to spank Bill and his stock tuned 2ZZ Its a shame mate :( :( hope u can still make it ← That's ok biatch given the success of the event I'm certain we'll have more opportunities to take each other on :D :P
  16. Looks like it was a great day. Well done to the organisers, and good job to all participants :)
  17. What happens to the perspex when the brakes heat up?
  18. Traditional Auto's use more fuel because of the ratio's they use. Eg, In manuals you have 5-6 different speeds these days allowing you to better pick the right gear for the conditions, older auto's like that in the Corolla have only 3-4 speeds, so immediately the car has to make do with less and is revving higher in lower gears to reach the same speeds. Auto's also have a tendency to absorb more torque from the engine, so more acceleration is required to get to the same speed as a manual. However, New Generation Auto's with CVT or more gears (Mercedes' 7 speed is a beaut!) are now proving to be just as efficient as manuals because they have a greater spread of ratio's.
  19. Welcome Toyota will only use their standard oils ( I think they use 10w-30 on VVTi engines) with no option for Synthetics however you can supply your own oil for them to use. Toyota won't change engine or gearbox oil at the first service unless you pay for it. It's a syncromesh gearbox so first gear will always be stubborn, particularly when the car is already in motion. Rev-Road speed matching does help though. Unless you've been crunching your box on every shift it really shouldn't be necessary to change it at 1000km. Enjoy the new car :D Edit: oh yeah, I've always run mine on 98 octane because the way I drive I use about 7.5L/100km so in the long run I'm not paying much more but my engine benefits from a better fuel. But it's not necessary to, it's only my personal preference.
  20. I'd question the strength of these ... Cool for show though.
  21. I think that's the sort of economy to expect from the 4sp Auto when driven hard. The Auto really needs to be 5 sp or cvt in order to have better fuel consumption. The problem I see with the current 4 sp is that there's too great a step in revs between overdrive (4th) and 3rd. When driving hard overdrive isn't used so you're at high revs and high fuel consumption.
  22. *** Speed Boy's & Girls ! :D I expect to see lots of time slips and pics on Monday. Sorry I can't make it, but who knows what can happen in two days
