  1. What you've been reading about TRD clutches and flywheels is that some people have upgraded their clutches and flywheels for perfomance reasons, but the other benefit's they've found is that it seems to resolve some of the shifting issues. But in most cases an adjustment of clutch performed by the dealer has resolved these issues.
  2. Yep TOCAU could take some lessons in photoshoots from Exclusive. Great Job Cougs. BTW saw you on Blackburn road this morning.
  3. Sportivo should perform similar to Ascent/Conquest/Levin below 6000rpm. Sportivo has firmer dampers so the handling is a little more composed but not much different Sportivo like the Levin has a six speaker sound system, so it has two additional tweeters at the front, so it should sound a little better.
  4. Congratulations E-gene :D !
  5. 18 month wait now! :o Wow I should tell my friend to sell his and make a pretty penny off it! Damn If I were looking to buy one ( I wish I could ) I don't think I could wait more than one year!
  6. You for real?! I thought there werent any or something along the lines of if you want to buy one, there is a 6 months waiting list? I wouldn't mind taking one for a spin, the front end looks hot as, but the rear is questionable. ← Yeah that's right it's a six month wait if you buy one now, a friend of mine recently took delivery, handling is sweet as.
  7. Did you try a search for TRD CAI ? About half the users in all states here have one or the similar Injen and AEM set ups, have a look through the garage. It's a complete replacement for the existing air intake.
  8. Could it be the combination of your SRI and Stivo Cat back is not agreeing with the Auto's low end torque needs ?
  9. :) This is a pic of CAI kit and a Panel/Replacement Filter for your reference.
  10. Ok If you purchase a cold air intake or short ram intake, both of which are a tube that attaches to your throttle body and replaces your existing air intake and air box, you will require a pod type filter to fit to the end of each. Almost all CAI or SRI kits come with their own pod-type or cone filter. So there's no need to purchase an additional filter unless the kit you purchase doesn't come with one. (This option gives you approx 4-7kw increase at wheels and will cost anywhere between $250 and $500) If you don't purchase a cold air intake or short ram intake, and choose to simply use your existing plastic intake system, you can improve it with a better flowing panel filter which is the same shape as the stock paper filter and takes its place in the existing plastic air-box. (This will give you better throttle response but probably only around 1kw increase at the wheels and will cost you approx $150) A CAI/SRI kit will give greater gain than replacing the filter, but will be more costly.
  11. If you install a CAI or SRI you're replacing your existing airbox/air intake so your existing panel filter will be of no use anymore. CAI/SRI's have shown greater gains than a drop in panel filter.
  12. That's the normal induction sound. It's your engine taking one last breath of air.
  13. It's Top Gear, considering the exotic machinary they get their hands on their opinion is always going to be harsh, and there's no surprises there, we all knew it would be pricey, handling is only an improvement as they've only changed the springs and upgraded the wheels/tyres. But importantly, it is significantly quicker And the new Golf GTi is good, I've taken the DSG for a spin.
  14. StockVVTi was selling Carbon Fibre bonnets. Influx has the C-One Carbon Fibre bonnet with scoop. Skitzo had a custom bonnet scoop made.
  15. Why not go back to stock seeing it went better that way ? Did you turf it ? But the DIY restrictor isn't such a bad idea, it may cause a funny exhaust drone because of the way it will disrupt the gas flow.
  16. They do still exist but I think they're now Momo-Polk. They started advertising recently in Car Mags
  17. I've only used octane boost once when I filled up a with tank full of very bad fuel, since it usually takes me about two weeks to go through a tank, I wasn't going to wait till it emptied. I've used pretty much nothing but Optimax for the last 28,000km's or the life so far of the car, It runs nicely, doesn't ping and has no problems. Fuel economy is good too.
  18. Is there a point in looking into supposed fuel saving devices for cars that average 8L/100km ?
  19. This is a good one E-gene. Big Car Park, usually empty at night, quiet spot from 8.00pm onwards and central to all. La Porchetta on the next corner too if we get the munchies :P
  20. pffft who want's to drive in the city East Siders have easier, quicker access to better drivers roads B) Plus I can still get into the City in less than 20 min .... legally. :P
  21. Something that's been brought up before, the search function isn't the most effective, so something that can assist in reducing the amount of repeated discussions on the same topics is to pin up/sticky threads for common topics in the forums: Eg: The Intake Thread. The ECU Thread. The Suspension Thread. The Exhaust Thread. etcetera ... Cheers
  22. Dimentions can't be too different ( front suspensions are virtually identical ), Rear mounting points may be a challenge, exhaust would have to be re-shaped to clear the suspension arms too. Pics of the set up would be great.
  23. Sorry buddy already had plans, was trying to get things going for you. Name a place and a time and you'll be surprised how many people turn up. Go for it!
