  1. I've gone from 4th to 2nd and 5th to 3rd for yonks dude lol. The car has it's 50,000km birthday soon and the gearbox is still fine. If anything it needs new gearbox oil. Just don't treat your gearbox like a roll of toilet paper and it'll be fine imo lol. still not good bro! i used to do it all the time say from 4th into 6th and cruise. or 3rd into 5th. not any more. Upshifting? Ah, I was under the impression that you were saying "skipping down a gear is bad". Going from 4th to 6th is just frustrating for me due to the ratios. It makes more sense to keep the revs up. I will occasionally go from, say, 4th to 2nd though. Sometimes it just makes sense to.

I'll only be using it when I'm going to sydney dude. No way I'm screwing around with an in dash one. Portable with one of those awesome looking suction cup thingies (*points finger down throat*) Just simple and accurate, but not buggy and a pain in the **** to operate basically.

I did a search on this topic and found a thread with a colourful placard of opinions as always. I noted the TomTom and Navman brands. I'm only looking to grab one dirt cheap, that is basic to use (but not a pain in the **** lol). I'm only doing this for any future sydney trips I have, as the CBD road map is a KENNNNTTTTT. Anything you guys can recommend? (I'm looking at you Phil lol)
  5. There's only one thing worse than Clio's. Around 80% of the drivers that own them. Good find though Pete, cheers.
  6. Re: what Corey said, Leroy. There actually is a large percentage of police officers out there like this. I heard enough stories from my friend who's an ex-constable lol.
  7. Dude let's buy one each and put it on our bonnets. 1zz and 2zz bro's need some sun yO lawl.
  8. I must admit I've noticed that too. When I was showing my mate the intake noise level, I did it in 1st when going out into an 80 zone. Sometimes it's hard to show people that nice intake noise due to the hi-cam range. Personally, the intake noise in itself is nice. Even down low. Re: racing on the streets. I kept blipping the throttle and letting the cai do the token 'shhhhumppt' noise at a set of lights next to a couple of young guys in a VK Bommodore. I kept my foot on the brake when the light went green, they went crazy and took off like a bat out of hell. Further down the road the cops did them for, oh, I'd say '100' in a 60 zone. It could only happen in Queanbeyan.
  9. Personally the 18's give better balance in terms of having 'biggish rims' on the corolla. They actually look like they belong on there. 19's (I'll try and dig up a pic of the infamous 'NATAS' from Canberra) make the Sportivo look like a toy car with over sized wheels imo.
  10. Yeah I was trying to bait him into saying it himself lol (failing though :() Hollandia Stratos 2000 series I think?
  11. They already have the wheels. They're 16 x 6 inch stock sportivo alloys. Mish leave them. They only look good in an alloy finish on your car I think.
  12. Yes yes I know dude. Coilovers set as low as possible? I remember Brian didn't even have his set as low as possible, and it was like 90mm off the ground (running 205/55/R16's on the stock Sportivo rims) and he was scrubbing like hell. I don't know how this can be lol.
  13. PM Rollamods as he'll prolly know or even have one under his bed.... Jason is like Vin Diesel in The Fast and The Furious, except replace the TV and dvd player heists with Toyota and Performance shop heists. Lawl.
  14. Shagging is still teh best. (PS: Who took down my embedded youtube vid! I like bandwidth...the BEST!)
  15. 1550 is better than a lot of other quotes I've had. How old are you. I'm 24 and mine is 1300 a year with Just Car.
  16. My mate has a skyline and is jealous of the insane sound the corolla makes between 6,000 and 8,000rpm. Is their an exhaust you guys can recommend for that uber-sound? Cheers
  17. Looking shmick. You just inspired me to wash, clay, wax and scratch X my car again. Cheers lol.
  18. Tayles and I will come over with the gasket glue and 'make' the tyres for you lawl. There are huge, huge huge scrubbing issues. If you're up for boxing your guard liners, and can plastic weld, or know of someone that can (free plug to rollamods there for explaining wtf 'plastic welding was' to me btw el oh el) then go for it. No amount of guard rolling will fix it as well I think, as one scrub point is where the front bar / guard join is. You can't really roll that area well, if at all. I'm going off other peoples trial and error here.
  19. NRMA did the same thing to me. I tried to get it underwritten. Thought that because my family had been with them for like 3 friggin decades that they'd give me some allowance. I was wrong. I then had this halfwit underwriter trying to tell me about 'my' car and how it would handle better on stock springs. Yeah...I love the feeling of being in a boat in the pacific theater in WW2. What did I do? I told them to **** off. I'm with Just Car now. I may be moving on again to someone else though. Not too sure yet. At least Just Car aren't idiotic nitpickers like NRMA however.
  20. Link no workie Dave! Fix...FIX!!!
  21. yes this has been covred but i was asking opinions of people who actually have these on their car dont worry he is a moron and only pops their stupid head in trying to cause troubble. I still swear to *** he's Lucio lol Jaze they're the best set you can get for our cars from what I've seen. Like Northy stated, they seem to actually 'flow' a lot better than the TRD ones. hahahaha
  22. Exactly Dave. Only more whorish.
