    2012 Camry

Dealers will get one or two vehicles on Dec 28, and early January they will get the rest. I drove the car on Monday, quite nice indeed. The Altise model is now more pointed at fleet with the higher models aimed at the private market. I'm more excited for the new Aurion, which will have all the goods of the new Camry with the 3.5 in it ;)

Expect it to arrive here around 32-33 + orc I reckon. But don't ask any Toyota dealer staffers because they won't know ****. As sales staff, we don't really get the word on pricing until about the week the car is released. MAYBE, in some case, Sales Managers/Dealer Principals will know pricing a little earlier but Toyota are generally tight lipped on pricing until right before release. I'm excited, hope the boss allows me to have one as a drive car.
  3. I realise how long ago this post was made, but I felt I had to offer my opinion here, do you really think that with the amount of vehicles that come through a dealership that we'd be in any way interesed in flogging cars? The novelty of having different cars come through here wears off very quickly.

Firstly, I would say that car is the American spec vehicle. If so, expect there to be minor 'Australian' tweaks to its front end design etc by the time it makes it to Australia. Secondly, like most cars, I would say it will grow on you. Wait until you see Sportivo models, what other colours it may come in, etc etc before you make your final decision.
  5. I will mostly likely work on the Toyota stand at least one day of the show and use a lunch break to have a gander
  6. They have to keep it below the flagship model (Presara) therefore no standard SATNAV

Crazy car but I reckon once it hits AU, it will look tough, have the toughness of being RWD but fail to get over the line due to no powerful engine being supplied with it.
  8. Yeah I was quick to jump on the price drop. The reason being is that Toyota have taken in the criticism for offering x amount of value to the car and actually attempting to charge the customer more etc as was reported in the Herald Sun. Hence a price drop has occurred. The prices I'm seeing on carsales.com.au are ridiculous. In terms of "making money", it doesn't happen a lot of the time in Toyota new car dealerships however, one would be crazy to think, that perhaps if a limited run of only 250 vehicles were being built like this that a GOOD sales person would take advantage of this as a way to make a few extra bucks but it seems the reality is we're lumped in with a bunch of weak idiots that can do nothing more to attract buyers than to tear up all potential profits. It's a sad issue, but something that is hard to avoid!
  9. The Display Audio unit is an option for models that don't have it, but most 'middle of the range' vehicles and up will have this unit as standard. The Rav4 Cruiser is one of them. It will only display information off an iPod etc if it is plugged in via the USB port. The 3.5mm jack will not support this information etc. The unit also has a feature called Bluetooth audio which is probably, in my opinion, the best feature of the lot. I load up my iPhone with a heap of music and can play it all without using any wiring at all. The syncing of information off your phone (address book) is more dependant on whether the phone will do it. I'm not totally sure apples products will do it, but I have done it numerous times with various Nokia's and Ericssons.
  10. Price drop, you can buy one from me in Victoria for $42,990 drive away. TOC FORUM special only :)

Nice rig mate, looks great with those wheels. I'm a big fan of the Dark Furnace paint colour on Rukus, Prado and now Kluger.
  12. Hah! Been in that red Rodeo. It's from Melbourne.
  13. I've been given one of these babies as my new company car. LOVE the interior. Haven't driven an Aurion as a co. car before, but did have a Kluger Altitude last year. Fantastic car to drive! Plenty of power. FWD is the only bit that bothers me a little but you get over it quickly. Now just need some good weather to enjoy the sunroof!

The Halo was based off Build 1 (base model.) It added the Voodoo Blue colour (from the FJ Cruiser), as well as blue stitching in the seats. Sunroof is also added to the vehicle. It also comes with reverse camera and blue lit interior illumination.
  15. And with satnav?? i know someone looking :P but its not worth RRP IMO Better off going with an Eclipse AVN Sat Nav with iPod kit as opposed to the Toyota Sat Nat. The Toyota version is out dated and lacks modern technology and is actually made by Eclipse. The price of the Toyota version is over $3500 where I can get an Eclipse AVN fitted for $2250 with the iPod kit.
  16. Manual Sportivo? I'd die if one of those turned up unsold to our dealership! Haha!
  17. It wouldn't differ enough from the Presara if it had a sat nav... That's just my opinion as to why it wasn't done. Price drop, I'd let mine go for $46k. ;)
  18. Hello! I am on the look out for someone in Melbourne that is perhaps looking to stop driving or store an older (pre 2000 at leat) Toyota vehicle that is in show condition. What Toyota it is is probably flexible, though it would have to be something that every day people would most likely want to look at. For intance, a mint condition 1992 Corolla Hatch is probably not something most people would look at but an FJ40 Landcruiser would most likely be something people would look at. I work for a Toyota dealership and we are looking to feature a vehicle in our new car showroom as a bit of a gimmick type thing. If we do end up doing this, the car will be locked and have ropes around the vehicle so it will certainly not be touched etc. We will also happily perform a full detail on the vehicle and keep it maintained while it is here. If this interests you, please drop me a PM. We are located in Lilydale, Melbourne. Thanks, Nick
  19. Yeah, we're pretty quiet delivery wise at the moment so our detailers were straight on the ball. I generally like to act pretty quickly on new models when they come into the dealership. Your feelings with regards to the car are about the same as mine. Bigger wheels would look good, but what they have done in the absence of bigger wheels in colouring them is good work on their behalf. Still a little disappointing given the development work to run a set of 19s was already done with the TRD development so it was certainly possible. Guess it goes against the "cost of life" part that Toyota seem to love to harp on about (purchasing tyres that is.) And speaking of TRD... you have to wonder how many parts in terms of bodykits were left over from the Aurion's. The TRD grille would have made this car look even more horn, in my opinion. Even the Sportivo grille would have suited however - the Prodigy grille is in my opion what looks the most out of place on the entire car. The rear is certainly my favourite part. The rear lip spoiler is fantastic on this car and the clear tail lights that were brought in with the most recent facelift make the whole rear end look fantastic. The seats, someone commented about them looking like vinyl retrim style... I can see your point, but when you see it matched with the exterior colour then feel how comfy they are, it all goes out the window. It matches the whole package perfectly. As far as Toyota hitting the mark with it.. well it is probably good timing. Only 250 were made so they will be gone soon enough I feel, but the fact that Toyota's supply has taken a massive beating, it's something for sales staff to get excited about because it is a special vehicle that customers can see and touch. Some models we wont have access to again for several months. Therefore, the whole pricing war is starting to die down and as a result Toyota should have a win with this model financially speaking as dealers begin to tighten up on "good deal" pricing.
  20. Fair call. Depends on how you might feel when you see it in person. I'm a big fan of it!
  21. I've just received two of these babies, but we have another one at our other dealership. Only 250 have been made and all dealers have been allocated their stock. My initial thoughts are, this is great from Toyota - usually a boring company - and I work for a dealer! The seats are comfy. The carbon fibre doesn't look like most carbon fibre, but that said in comparison to the Prodigy to which it is based on it is far better than the woodgrain you would normally get. The lip spoiler is the best touch. The only thing I would change is I would change to a sports grille as opposed to the chrome grille it has from the Prodigy. I took some snaps which I've attached. Price is not 45k drive away, it's 44,990 plus on roads - therefore driveaway (In Victoria) $48,470. If you're interested in potentially purchasing one of these babies while you can, I suggest you shoot me a PM.
  22. Perhaps a face lift next year, although nothing has been confirmed. This is highlighted by the fact there is a limited edition model coming out soonish. Generally speaking, with the exception of Camry and Aurions, a limited edition model is usually a "run out" type special I guess you could say.
  23. Happs; dealer probably meant no more in WA.
  24. Sweeeeeet That looks awesome.
  25. I have a silver AWD Grande in stock. Think your dealer is on drugs or something.
