  1. Do you mean vibrate, as in wheel balance out of whack, or do you mean a buzzing sensation felt through the steering wheel, more noticeable when you take a sweeping left or right turn?
  2. Dude, from what you're describing it sounds as if there's a huge amount of flex when you drive off the street and onto your crossover to your home. I know there's a degree of body/chassis flex inbuilt into all vehicles, more so with vehicles having a body-on-chassis type build, but the Aurions are all monocoque, so the degree of flex you seem to be describing is VERY concerning at the least. The way you describe it, I'm picturing a very wobbly flexible monocoque shell which bends and twists over every bump or uneven surface. This, to me is symptomatic of catastrophic failure somewhere. The "knocking" of the windscreen sunroof may well be indicative of a more serious problem. Are all your doors opening and closing smoothly? The bonnet, the boot? Hopefully it's not rust eating through to the monocoque shell, and it's happening somewhere where you can't see, or not very obvious. Sorry, don't mean to alarm you but, yeah it's either that, or (hopefully) just some relatively minor bushing issues with your suspension.
  3. Firstly, let me make it clear that you CANNOT issue voice instructions for navigation for the unit in the Aurion Presara. As for the rest of the OP's query, I think he might mean :- Op has a 2009 Aurion ATX, which originally came with (standard?) CD-Radio with Bluetooth. His phone connects via bluetooth to the unit.OP bought a used CD-Navigation unit from an Aurion Presara and had it installed in his ATX. No info on whether this was done by himself, a mate, or a qualified installer.OP is able to pair his mobile to the replacement unit from the Presara.OP is able to make calls through this unit.Call recipient is unable to hear any audio from OP. OP reckons it's an issue with the Microphone. BB.
  4. Admittedly I didn't test drive the Holden SV6 series 2 ones. From what everyone is saying, are you all talking about VE series one models? Yeah I'm talking about the series 1 but seeing the series 1 and 2 side by side I honestly see no difference apart from the front bumper and the wheels. You forgot the Holden (lack of) IQ system. Whoop dee doo.... That, and SiDi. The sportwagons have beautiful lines though. Pity bout the overall build quality :( The sportswagon is what I am aiming for but hmmm maybe I can wait for the VF next year! I have also decided to wait and see what the new Aurion that is due out next year looks like in flesh as well! A pity there isn't an Aurion wagon...oh wait the Klugers but they are thirsty beasts! As someone who was driving a Sportswagon before getting an Aurion, I have to say I miss the ability to carry awkward, large-ish items. If the Aurion had a wagon version, I'd probably have gone for that. As it turns out, I've pretty much made up my mind to look towards getting a wagon as my next car. If there's an Aurion Presara Wagon, I'd probably end up getting that. If there isn't one, I'll probably look at something like a Skoda Superb Wagon 125TDI (about the same price as a Presara atm). Don't get me wrong, I'm not dissing the Holden Sportswagons. Great looking, drives great, corners like it's on rails, but build quality, resale and reliability isn't at a level where I'm comfortable with.

  6. Wow, that stuff looks pretty good. Reading few reviews before it looks like it does work and also watched the video. As I said it seriously won't kill to try this stuff. It's a very once off thing to do so it can't really hurt in the hip pocket. But I'm still not quite sure how much to use and when it use? Reading here: http://www.fueldocto...motive/more/21/ It is saying I fill up petrol, and since I have never used this product in the car before, I should shock treat the car with the FULL 275mls then after that I never need to use it again for another 100,000KM? Hmm... the skeptic in me is thinking that this sounds awfully like that miracle pill you pop into your fuel tanks..... Firepower Pill or something like that.
  7. Approximately 35,000km on Michelin Energy MX8s for my Presara. I'd say there's probably still about 60 - 70% tread left. At this rate, probably looking at replacing tires well once I get well into the 70 - 80k range. Tread wear is also very even. Wheels are rotated at every 15,000km when doing the logbook service and alignment done every 10,000km or 6 months. Tire pressures running at 38psi all round, including spare. Standard factory Presara rims & tyres. It's pretty odd that OP is only getting about 20,000km out of his tires. What are they made out off? Marshmallows?
  8. Possibly worn bushes? If you've modified the suspension in any way, these can be the first to go. Stock factory bushes don't like being subjected to mods.
  9. Heh heh... so you had your mascot sitting on top of the sensor? I guess it would be fair to say that the problem exists between the steering wheel and seat....... :P Oh well, it happens to all of us at some stage. :D
  10. If it's the indicator lens, I was quoted $37 for a brand new part by City Toyota, Northbridge in Perth, WA. Instructions on how to take the cover off to replace the lens are posted here. BB
  11. Yeah, I know what you mean. Even the Holden Sportswagon I used to drive was flimsy as hell. You'd dent the panels if you knew where to aim your fart. .
  12. I could claim it off insurance, but I would've been up for the $500 excess because I didn't get complete details of the bike rider. Apparently the registration number isn't enough anymore. I gotta get his full name, D/L number, postal address etc. Sheesh... bloody insurance companies. Anyway, no big deal. $37 for the indicator lens and about $30 for fitting... can't really complain. If I could be half ar$ed, I suppose I could fit the new indicator lens myself (via the instructions on the forum) and only spend $37 for the part. But I won't cause it's a novated lease vehicle and this stuff is covered under the lease. BB
  13. Hi All, Just thought I'd relate to you an experience I had yesterday. I was stopped at a set of traffic lights waiting to turn right when a numpty on a sportbike clipped my LHS wing mirror while lanesplitting. It was a full on solid whack because I saw the wing mirror violently flip forwards then back into position. The gimp on the bike lost control, braked hard and the bike bumped into the back of a Hertz rental truck and the rider headbutted the back of it. Rider was ok and everyone drove around him and the truck to leave both to sort themselves out. Anyway, I was friggin ****** off about the mirror, but when I got home to survey the damage, the only damage was a slightly cracked indicator lense !!! See photos attached. I guess it's a case of instant karma. The bike rider clipped my mirror, but it threw him off balance and now he's damaged his pretty bike, banged his head on a rental truck, and has to deal with a very angry looking maori dude as well. LOL I LOVE THIS CAR!!!! BB PS. Got off the phone with City Toyota in Northbridge. They reckon it'll cost $70 or less to fix, this includes new part and labour to fit.
  14. LOL, how did I forget about the keyless entry. I absolutely love that! +1 Keyless Start + Smart entry FTW!!!!! Thanks to this, I can never go back to a car with a normal key and put up with being stabbed in the leg each time I carry my car keys with me. Cheers, BB PS. I also don't have to fumble around for the damn key to start the car too! Just gotta look for the glowing "Start Engine" button and press it.
  15. OOer... It's possessed! Quick, killlll it!!! *runs away* :P
  16. Which part of the windscreen did you apply your "watering can" test on? If it ain't hititng the sensor, it ain't gonna auto-wipe. I find the rain sensor isn't much good if there's only light rain/drizzle. You'll still need to manually hit the switch to wipe the windscreen. Other times it'll keep wiping even though there's no more rain. It's almost as if I'm driving through a phantom shower. BTW, everything is as delivered from Factory. Original windscreen, etc. I think rain sensing wipers are only an aid, and should never replace driver intervention and discretion as to whether or not the windscreen needs to be cleared or not.
  17. Dude, I think it's very obvious that you strongly believe you were hard done by. But the responses you've had so far, while pretty harsh, have truth in them. It's a bit late now to try and fire off a claim considering the amount of time that's passed. I'm not saying that there's no chance of you winning the claim, but for your sake, I hope you've got a wheelbarrow for what you're trying to push uphill, ya know what I'm sayin'??
  18. If anything, it could be a power : weight ratio thing..... Obviously if a barebone ATX were to race a Presara, the Presara would lose out because of the extra weight of the additional gizmos and doo hickeys in it. Then there's the driver. An experienced driver will run rings around a n00b any day. AFAIK, engine outputs etc are identical for 2007 Aurions and 2011 Aurions.
  19. aircraft fuel? really?! Yup! I wouldn't have believed it myself, but I've seen it first hand. Turned an old sh|tbox 1980s Civic into a different animal altogether with OK power and acceleration. Cooked the motor after that though, but no big loss, it was a turd on wheels anyway.
  20. So I'm guessing in this case he hasn't even passed the Sylvester Stallone test. I'm thinking the Zed test was used by mistake. Officer Zed from the Police Academy movies. Yeah, I can picture him saying it EXACTLY how it was written. :P .
  21. From a purely empirical point of view, it shouldn't matter as long as the same settings on the SPL meter are used for the "before" and "after" measurements. You're looking for RELATIVE change in db levels and doesn't matter what initialised parameters you are using as long as the settings are the same. Think of it this way, if someone tells you the temperature has dropped 15 degrees, it won't matter if it's in Celsius or Farenheit, or Kelvin. Fact is, it's gone cooler by 15 degrees. In this case, it's gone "quieter" by 10db.
  22. From personal experience, new tyres always seem to be quiet and more compliant. I suspect this is because the rubber needs to cure and settle first. It'd be interesting to see what they're like after a few thousand kms.....
  23. Unless you buy a TRD. Then you get a spacesaver. I genuinely did not know that. That sucks more than a Dyson.
  24. IMHO, you should be including the spare into your regular tyre rotations every 10,000km or so anyway. Otherwise you'll never use the spare and you'll just go through sets and sets of 4 tyres. Eventually, when you DO need to use the spare, it's probably at a stage where it's perished and isn't much use. By including your spare into your regular tyre rotations, you can be assured that you will always have a spare that checked regularly and is in useable condition. Good thing the Aurions have a full sized spare with same rims and tyres as the other 4 wheels as factory standard. I never liked space saver tyres. WTF is up with car manufacturers skimping on something like that?
