  1. Where do you live. I may be able to get a compressor at a good price. Also may be able to direct you to a decent A/C fitter who won't rip you off. Any numbers on the old one??
  2. Well I went to see the panel shop this morning. He has a couple jobs left over from the end of last year but has said that he will be ready for the Celica by the end of this month. I hope that this is an accurate time frame so that we can be under way. I spoke to an older mechanic who buys starters and alternators from me and he is happy to freshen up the motor for me so that will be starting in the next few weeks as well. I would like to do the engine myself but I just don't have the time to do a full rebuild. So it is looking a bit more like things will start happening soon.
  3. That's not a Jeepney This is a Jeepney You've got a lot of mods to go to get it looking like this :D
  4. If you are only going 30 then there would be no chance of being killed in an accident if one of the tires blew. You are more likely to be caught up in a drive-by shooting.
  5. Yeah I know!! Most Victorians only come to Queensland when they retire.
  6. I agree .. Welcome and I hope you enjoy the club. You are welcome an Thursday night to the Brisbane weekly meeting. Don't forget to bring some goodies.
  7. Personally unless the tyres are of a reputable brand(Toyo, Yokahama, Nitto)or similar I would be rather reluctant to drive on them at speeds of much more than 80kph. They may last OK but it may be worth getting the front ones replaced with something new. For the the top & engine to have had repairs done and then for it not to be driven seems more than a little strange.
  8. Hey Trent The painter has not yet re-opened from the x-mas break. I will see him sometime next week and make a decision then. If it gets to be much beyond the end of this month before things are under way I will be in the market for a new guy to do the job. If I get $10.000 in folding and wave it around I should attract some attention and maybe get some progress. (He already knows money is not a problem) Altogether it is a bit disapointing to have to wait more than 6 months for an opening to have the job started.
  9. E10 is the fuel most likely to be subject to moisture contamination. Since seeing the story on fuel comparisons I wont ever use E10 or regular fuels again

    Advice

I have. never owned one but one of my daughter's friends have one and have been happy with it for many years. Apart from normal service costs I believe it should seve you for many years to come. Before you buy please get the car inspected by an independent mechanic you know and trust. Don't be pushed into buying without an honest check. The 60 - 70 dollars spent saved my son from buying a car with a lot more K's than the speedo displayed. A good mechanic should pick up most potential problems. I trust that all goes well for you.

    Funny Pics

Some girls need to learn to prioritize. Not many people get to see anybody's bedroom.
  12. Sweeeeeeeeet!! One of my favorite Rolla models. You have to happy with that body kit. It really makes it.
  13. Yeah it does seem a bit weird to use the TRD - Sportivo - Emblems on a Hybrid. As far as I can make out the environment would be better off if we all drove 6.0 litre GTO/Monaros or Mustangs.
  14. Looking really sweet. Keep us posted on any more mods.
  15. Maybe that is a bit much but a diesel will go almost forever as long as it has been serviced regularly. I may be able to get some A/C parts cheap through a mate who works for another wholesaler
  16. It is my opinion that as far as reliability you just can't go past a good Hi-Lux. One thing to keep in mind is many of the Surfs in Australia are 'back door' imports. I work in wholesale supplying aftermarket and genuine parts and often can't match parts for 'import' vehicles of any brand. While the initial vehicle price can be substantially cheaper the cost of parts can be prohibitive. I think it is better to buy an Aussie delivered model.
  17. What's this about Door Cards?? By the way mine is my Celica rego plates. This was my son Mitchell's idea It comes from the Jewish 'Oy Vey' which I have been led to believe is an exclamation of dismay.
  18. And the verdict is.... Surely this is still a goer. Awwww come on Pleeeeeaaaasssssseeeeee.
  19. I copied these pics from Carsales.com.au and cropped them. Seems not...
  20. Type your full VIN into this website. It should give you info on what motor is fitted to your Estima. I don't know if it will be useful but you may find the part number for the ECU as well. This in turn may lead you to which other vehicles use that particular one. www.epcdata.com www.toyodiy.com may also be useful in identifying which vehicles it was fitted to.
  21. First time for me attending the Brisbane meet. Finally I got to meet some of the guys and gals in person. If I have another free Thursday night I will be out again. Or should that be 'in'?? I don't know! Any of the other states that don't do this sort of thing are missing out on a great social outing. Muffins mmmmmmmmm. I was tempted, but if I had any I would not be able to stop at one.
