  1. No probs.........will be looking prolly during the weekend. Hope to get the headers off on monday!! Armed with new tools and chasis stands....and arms that are not sore from washing, polishing and waxing last weekend. And it bloody rained!! always happen after a major wash...
  2. I hope the new 6 speed would be able to go into the sportivo without much problems while still maintaining similar gear ratios. Then we would have a cheap and abundent source of 6 spd gearboxs to use as replacements
  3. I haven't been looking at the moment lately. Give Xoom a PM cause I think his tuner is quite good from the sounds of it. I recently hit my bent my stock exhaust system while reversing into a parking space.......I think its bent just before the cat, and its hitting the brace that is underneath the car. I removed the brace already but not very happy without it there. I'll be looking at doing a whole exhaust system upgrade first. Still need to get the headers off to get it ported first though.
  4. K20A in a stripped out civic.......hmmm..........going to need a 600hp supra to even have a chance
  5. 3kg is quite heavy.....I would be worried about the fact that because its too heavy it might put too much load on the shifting cradle while shifting.
  6. I would say a minimum of 100 octane level fuel, 98 is definitely pushing it.
  7. Weight of stock sportivo gear knob is approximately 220grams......its quite light. The suzuki swifts current gear knob from the factory weighs in at 400grams while the suzuki liana is closer to 500grams.
  8. It works on both 5sp and 6sp corollas.
  9. I prefer a heavy gear knob as it gives me a firm shift...........my only current problem is that when I try to hard to shift into 2nd gear and it goes pass the gate and I'm stuck in no mans land...........so bloody annoying.
  10. Forgot one advice to give you........I think your not going to be happy. I bought a hard rubber rollar at bunnings for $10 in its arts and crafts section. It helps with giving it enough pressure to stick properly on the surface and stops you from cutting yourself....
  11. It will not increase shifting smoothness.........your only bet is to either get your clutch adjusted I think or new clutch and/or flywheel. If anything this kit will make it harder to shift. The only way to give you smoother shifting with your current setup is to get a heavy aftermarket gearknob. For me the notchiness disappears as the increased momentum helps out in shifting. By heavy I mean 400g+. I currently have an 480g Razo shift knob on mine. I had a short shifter on my sportivo before (not TRD) and the heavy gearknob made the most difference. With the stock gear knob I was using quite a bit of force to get it in. Stock gear knob is only about 220g. Actually I would recommend most people that have the short shifter kit to invest in a heavy aftermarket gear knob. It makes a world of a difference in terms of shifting.
  12. Its really easy unless of course you have big hands \ Additionally when this this GB start?
  13. Dunno if the TRD CAI is the same with the other intakes that I purchased if it is then. It will rub on the final bend against the chasis and eventually a hole will appear in your CAI. Solution is to just wedge something between them, I used an old 3" tube cut in half now (I used cardboard before lol).
  14. Well apparantly the earlier 03 sportivo's are supposedly better because of a slightly larger exhaust manifold design. But it hasn't been proven to produce squat. But just to make myself happy I have the earlier 03 models
  15. I did all my installs myself!! Unless I spend really big on an install at a reputable store I wouldn't bother. But if your not too handy with tools and stuff then a pro is a better option obviously. Wires and its associated accessories are expensive though
  16. I was just about to order one too!! Put me in if the price is below $250 Cars are expensive. I still need to get new shocks (maybe coilies), exhaust, brakes, SS and the insurance, rego......argh!! PFC on the way........the digits on my bank balance are slowly but surely becoming less. *Sob*
  17. The most frustrating part is letting the paint dry Careful when applying the SD though, you can cut yourself without knowing until you wash your hands and arms *ouch*
  18. I got the dynamat bulk pack (36sqft) for about $200 I think. I covered both the inner and outer parts of the door. With sealed/painted MDF to cover the service holes and used adheasive foam behind the interior door trim. Remember to clean the bare metal properly, I used methylated spirits. If you don't clean it properly it might fall off as there is grease there. I'm not sure how much SDer you purchased, but I would SD in the following order. Front Doors Boot/Hatch Rear Doors I used a bit less then half of the bulk pack for my two front doors only.
  19. There is a 84 SA63 Celica with a 1ggte for sale over at Toymods. Not everyones peice of cake but its fast.
  20. Generally there is should be no engine noise in your sound system if you installed it correctly. The grounding in the corolla's are not the best but shouldn't have caused this problem. Make sure you don't have any kind of speaker wires touching the chasis or metal part of the car. Covered up all your wire connections with heat shrink tube or some electrical tape.
  21. Why not drilled and slotted?? :D
  22. $600 including fitment is quite exxy. Go with king springs as they are pretty much the same but at a lower price. Getting your local mechanic to fit them shouldn't cost too much as well.
  23. Well the disc on the sportivo corollas are not exactly small or inadequate. The latest ITR has 280mm with twin piston fronts and they stop very well. More pistons does not always mean better braking. The ITR and NSX both run with twin pot calipers!! Food for thought.
  24. Give us more words of encouragement Xoom!! Pity no matter what we do with a 2zzge N/A it will never be able to keep up with his boosted 2zz.
