  1. I was wondering if anyone here knows where I can purchase an extension of the factory harness for the ECU?? Or would I be able to buy the connectors at the Toyota dealers and make one up myself?? Won't be able to go to the dealer until monday, can't wait that long Looking at installing the PFC with a harness instead of chopping up the factory loom to get it done. Cheers
  2. most, if not all the turbo engines from Jap cars come in a non-turbo variant... another good straight 6, NA, example is the BMW M3, they sound awesome too :) or the humble Ford Falcon engine... What I meant was I've never actually heard one in person or upclose....I'm very much aware that pretty much most(if not all) turbo variants start off as N/A bases
  3. Well I haven't heard of an N/A straight six yet to be honest, with regards to exhaust. Everything I've heard with regards to jap sixes have usually been with a turbo along the exhaust system.
  4. I reckon an SW20 Mr2 with a 3.0L V6 engine conversion off an Camry with and aftermarket exhaust sounds awesome.
  5. Is your enclosure built properly to suit your Tyre-R?? Sealed at the moment??
  6. i'd check out and see if u have lead foot syndrome :P :D :P :D ..... u knw u've put 98 in it so ur on it more often ... haahahah Hahaha, kinda annoyed with the stivo though. Once your in lift cops are just waiting to ping you for speeding, or reckless driving. But right now I'm getting awesome mileage, well its 350km/half tank.I rarely use lift on the normal roads, only really open it up once I'm on the Freeway/Motorway. Going to try 98 for the next month and see how everything goes. I still have yet to go and experience wakefield!! Slowly prepping the car up and hopefuly will be going around Feb next year, thats my goal anyway.
  7. Get a rear sway first, it has a very noticeble effect on the overall handling and your shocks won't be affected that much. After that I would look at a front strut bar. You could get lowered springs but prolly about one year later your looking at replacing/upgrading shocks which would most likely be more expensive then a set of coilovers without the adjustability. Just a thought
  8. Make sure you budget in a good install. Sound Deaden if you have not already . In terms of the speakers that your looking at, you are looking in the right direction. My rant about installs is almost crazy, but since your looking at high end speakers then I'm sure you know what your talking about.
  9. The type x range has an emphasis on spl then sq I think. Try to audition as many as you like. Bring a CD with your best tracks and ones that would definitely test the speakers.
  10. I don't think the alpine type x is any good but then again as long as you are happy with it, no one can argue. Alpine make nice HU, but their splits are so so. Try boston acoustics as well.
  11. That beeper has saved me quite a few times from reversing into the car behind me at a set of traffic lights. As annoying as it is its there for a reason.
  12. Anyone here tried replacing the collector before??
  13. Header no good without its associated components.... So when are you going to blast it down the 1/4 next time?? Still running it in or what??
  14. Just seen the type R hatch last night............my comment still stands "Its ugly!"
  15. Thanks heaps for the diagram and excel table Been a while since I've seen diagrams like this....headaches as always.
  16. I supppose the TRD headers might show its true colours once you start cracking open the head of the 2zz?? With the 2zzge already out for so long, the factory header ported and coated is the way to go. The manifold is quite good.
  17. Anyone have the pinout of the ECU for the sportivo??
  18. Hmm........6800rpm?? Are you from the states?? Cause I know the corolla XRS's Lift kicks in at 6800rpm..........which of course sucks
  19. Question In what situation do they occur?? Did you drive on the track?? One classic way to warp your disc after a blast around a circuit a few times is to come into the pits and just leave your car there with the handbrake. Remember to drive your car around the circuit a few times to let your whole brake system cool down, not to mention your engine. If not kiss your brakes goodbye
  20. The problem with that model sportivo is the internals haven't be strengthen whatsoever so upping the boost is not a very good idea. The major weakness in the 7AFE is the conrods itself, so if you do intend to boost it up a bit you would be looking about a stronger bottomend. Might even try swapping to a 4agze head/bottom end and use the 7A block for larger displacement. I'm pretty sure that the Turbo Sportivo wouldn't be able to keep up with the zze123 sportivo. Turbo cars generally are more better to modify in terms of bang for your buck, unfortunately they(Toyota) didn't intend it to be a performance engine. All they did was slap an intercooled turbo onto a stock 7A. Prolly nice to drive around town though with all that torque on tap at such low rpm.
  21. The only thing that I can think of right now is to clean up your car and get rid of any unwanted crap that is weighing you down. You could also try losing weight if your a bit on the heavy side. Don't bother with lightweight pulleys as we are still unsure of the long term effects.... Could remove your spare, but then risk needing it when you blow a tyre Don't always keep your petrol tank full, maybe half Lightweight battery if your battery needs replacing Get rid of your sub and amp if you have one Use 15" alloys instead of the factory 16", there is quite a difference in weight between the two... Thats all I can think of at the moment. If your on a budget how much are we saying???
  22. I go around roundabouts in 3rd gear if I don't need to slow to an almost complete stop....and I'm not exactly flying at what you would call fast speeds........I think the car pulls quite well in third gear.
