  1. The front so looks like a Yaris sedan, while the back looks like a rushed modded job on the existing rolla. Interior is not too bad, front is OK....rear is a big no no...
  2. Well my mech doesn't do anything about it. I think most people forget about it
  3. I've read somewhere that you can construct a controller for it, only problem is that its DIY...Try the new celica website or the matrix websites. Cheers
  4. I'm sure the Mazda 3 MPS is very impressive, I saw one the other day. Looks very very mean!! Cheers
  5. Polo GTI only 110kw, although getting it chipped would bring that up to 140kw. And chipping is not cheap nearly 2K. But for 30kw, its not bad at all. I think the kia rio hatch has potential to become one mean looking car, my only reason for not getting one is the very fact that its built by kia.....which is....yeah....you get it. Cheers
  6. Time for me to share my thoughts. FTO GPX is a sports coupe with a red hot engine. GR is for people that are after the looks. Sportivo is the power of a hot hatch and the practicality of a normal hatchback. I have no doubt that the FTO GPX will win in say a straight line, around corners etc. It was built for that purpose in mind, chasis was designed to do that. But I would prefer a sportivo as it can seat five people reasonably more comfortable then the FTO, and give me a bit of excitment when required.
  7. You can go on a good behaviour driving period for 12months if you really need your drivers license for work commitments. It happened to a friend of mine. He now currently drives really sedately at the moment.
  8. Damn, just realised my post was useless in helping you out. Anyways, most people recommend Jaycar as they provide very good value for money. Very good for entry level. You could always try the mainstream brands like, Kenwood, Sony, Pioneer etc...but for that money, you might as well get a Jaycar amp. I too did my research and studying and Jaycar provided the answer that I was looking for Cheers
  9. GOGOGO JAYCAR!! I should of a got an audison to drive my front splits instead of the Jaycars...Nothing wrong with Jaycar, except that I bought three amps off them, and am currently only using one. With the combined money should of invested into some better gear. If you want more info on car audio setups and stuff head over to Car Audio Australia, that forum there is so good and the people provide really good advice. Cheers
  10. Never admit that you are speeding, especially if you were not. I see a whole lot of problem with this argument as to how he can prove that you are doing 80km/h....you could be doing 90k/m which would put u up in the next category. The question is that are you completely sure that you were not speeding? I got booked for doing 88km/h in a 70 zone, but i'm pretty sure that i only got to 80km/h. I know equipment can be faulty at times, but sometimes...you are speeding and you won't know... Go for the appeal if all is true though!! Goodluck
  11. Unclip the underbody panels, and part of the bumper bar for easier access. I have quite large hands (not too big though), but without unclipping the bumper bar it was impossible for me to remove. I tried for about nearly 2 hours, but gave up and unclipped the bumper bar. Makes the whole process much easier. Try not to cut it off if possible.
  12. I'm interested in this course, but I was wondering what is the expected date? Cheers
  13. Can't really hear it outside with the snorkel off, now a CAI is what might be of concern when it comes to noise. I went through this short tunnel last time, 1st gear, 4K-6K...it echoed through the whole tunnel, sounded really awesome!!. You'll be able to live with the DIY intake, but I'm not so sure with a CAI...I don't think I could live with mine for everyday driving. LOL Cheers
  14. If they are breaking down within say 2 years, then maybe it deserves a mention. But with batteries these days its a bit of hit or miss...I have a system in my rolla as well and so far have no problems. By the way is the voltage stabilizer you talking about is simply a upgrade of your current cars grounding system?
  15. If you want a bit of noise and better throttle response then remove the snorkle by all means. Personally I like the noise of the airbox without the snorkle over a CAI. Remember to post some pictures of your setup when your doing it. Cheers
  16. Misunderstood people are often angry...I'm sure you will be fine, as there are plenty of witnesses. If its one on one, I've known the victim to become the accused. It sucks.
  17. My car is a bit over 3 years old, done about 79000. I have had no problems whatsoever. Haven't even replaced it yet, I did drain it a couple of times cause I forgot to turn the map lights off . I'm still using the original battery. Have you guys done any kind of electronic installations in your car? Stereo?? Cheers
  18. Increased response with out the pipe or snorkel is expected, as the distance required for the air to travel is much shorter...the only problem then might probably a slightly lower power output. Anyways besides the added benefit of more power, isn't cooler air better for the engine generally anyway?
  19. The problem that you then face after removing the intake snorkel, is hot air from the engine bay going into the engine...which of course is not desirable. Placing a larger cold air feed to the stock air box is one thing you can try, which I'm assuming is the DIY intake you are trying to achieve. My problem is how people keep putting a hose in front of say an unsealed SRI, to be honest I don't believe it will provide any noticeble benefit unless its sealed. Goodluck with the DIY, I'm going to give it a try one day in the near future. Cheers
  20. Finally found your topic Mish!! My name is Thai Male 23 1.75m Westside of Cabramatta Married by the end of October I've met Mark last time for the payment of the eyelids and grille, hope he recovers soon. " Life is a gearbox, if you don't change gears, your can't move on further!!" Cheers
  21. Just exchange it, it does the job and has no deterimental effect. Its like saying get a generic CAI or a TRD one....not much in between them, unless that generic one is really that bad. Save your $10 and get yourself some better engine oil or something. Cheers
  22. Pretty much no difference whatsoever, the suction pressure present is adequate enough to pull water in. But that would only occur if say you had a CAI and drove through a river of water resulting in hydrolock. Shouldn't need to worry too much about that too much if you live in metro areas. Cheers
  23. Return it and get the other one, the light green can. Because it also lubes, it leaves behind a film of lubricant. This film of lube easily allows particles to attach to it. The O-Ring just rolls off. Give it a few blast. Let it dry, its really quick as it rapidly evaporates. Cheers
  24. I'm not sure which one is the air sensor, I just cleaned both of them. IIRC the Amber diode that he is showing is actually the Intake Ambient Temperature Sensor (IAT). The MAF is two thin wires that is located within the housing of the plastic shield. Remove the O-ring prior to cleaning, cause most electrical contact cleaners will cause swelling when coming into contact with the O-ring. Remember to be careful to not to damage the wires that are inside the housing. I'm not sure of the price for the new one ( I think its $180), but I know that WRX ones cost about $500. Just be careful thats all. Just use the contact cleaner and give it a few blast. Cheers
