  1. King Lows... 16" Rims - but make sure u get ur offset right because if you lower it and put rims on that are too wide u'll hit ur wheel arches and scrub every time u go around a corner from body roll.... As well as this you could possibly look at front and rear sway bars and a front strut brace... This will assist in stiffening the ride and reducing body roll... Body kits are OK, but in my opinion, on a lot of cars they look a bit ****y, but once again thats a personal choice thing and more than likely depends on the style of the body kit - some can look good... I prefer the no kit and slammed suspension look lol... Engine-wise you could look at some sort of a short ram air intake or full cold air intake system with pod filter and heat sheild... The throttle body off a 1.5L engine providing it fits, and a full exhaust with headers, hi flow cat, and some sort of hi flow muffler... It all depends on how much you want to spend. These are all the cheap options to make the car look nice, respond a little quicker and handle better and make it a little more tough. This is pretty much the same formula I use when I mod a car because I'm cheap and nasty and usually can't afford to get good things done to the internals of engines... lol...
  2. but thats what I mean... the manufacturer might be able to shed some light on what would fit... i did notice that it was for a FJ Landcruiser... lol... Tigers - I think what we need to establish is what you want to do and / or why you are wanting to purchase one of theses. Without that information its a little hard to give u an answer or point u in the right direction. Not sure why ur looking at putting FJ Land Cruiser parts on an '07' Landcruiser Grande, but if u contact the seller / manufacturer they may be able to advise of something that does suit ur vehicle.

  4. Drove to and from work. Nothing exciting but I enjoyed it. Yay me!
  5. The other possibility is that the brakes need re calibration or that the pads have not previously been installed correctly. If they wear unevenly u will find that braking at higher speeds will cause them to grab at different pressures due to the amount of meat left on the bone so to speak. At slower speeds due to the lower number of revolutions the wheel is doing the uneven grab is less violent and less noticeable to the point where it can be negligible and can be misconstrued as uneven camber or bumps in the road hence u don't notice it. If the wheels aren't the issue check ur brakes. Could be pads or rotors. in any case best to get it sorted straight away. Just some ideas for u. :)
  6. Depending on the cost involved if performance shocks are only a little bit more they may be a good investment as they are usually of a heavier duty grade and leave u open to a spring upgrade down the track without have to replace the shocks for a second time. Just a suggestion :)

  9. I've contemplated this also and agree that it's a bit of a faff unless u have a show car. I just live with it. Perhaps the objec to hide this that u were thinking of were spacers? But the purpose of them is not to hide rust but rather adjust ur wheel offset and / or wheel base width.
  10. For anyone with a 7A-FE engine there's plenty of kits on eBay and also www.carmate.com do a short ram kit as well.

Hey, Have just sorta done this exercise myself and now I own a corolla as a result, so in short - 1) Corollas are reliable, however make sure u take the car for a test drive and listen out for all the things that you need to. If you don't know what you should be listening out for on the test drive, maybe get somebody who has a mechanical background that is a friend to take it for a test drive with / for you. You wanna make sure there's no weird sounds... 2) In reality Red Book is a lowballing POS... It's great in working to ur advantage if ur buying a car, as u can say to the person, "Hey buddy, redbook says its worth this!" and use it as a bartering tool, but at the end of the day, it gives rock bottom, worst case scenario figures. 3) The car ur looking at has fairly good kms. Bargain the guy down, but I'd try for at least $1000 down, but don't settle for anything less than $500 down. If he's smart he's advertised it for about a grand more than he knows its worth or what he actually wants for it because everybody usually tries to bargain ppl down when they buy a car, so he's expecting it. If you don't bargain him down its just an extra bonus for him.
  12. That was for the most expensive one. Just went to right price and asked them and they told me lukey mufflers are so cheap now because they're not hand made anymore. And that they're no better than a red back. They quoted me a cat back 2" system with tip, installed, custom and guaranteed to sound good for between $205 and $270 depending on what tiP I want.
  13. Short Ram Cold Air Intake ordered from the states as of about half an hour ago and paid for... I was thinking back and I only picked this car up a week and 1 day ago, already I've had a stereo put in, painted the calipers, bought a set of king springs to go on in about a week, bought my short ram cold air intake, and i'm pricing up an axle back exhaust system... everything seems to be in the right place at the right time lol...

Did some research, and Lukey mufflers aren't that expensive, depending on what ur definition of expensive is i guess Ash... for a good muffler I was expecting to pay anywhere up to $220 or so... so by definition at $115 for the one I think I'm going to need, I'm doing well... Gonna see what Rite Price can get me one for or how much they'd charge to put it on if I purchased it... Or even what their recommendations are... They've always done me right with exhausts in the past. How they managed to make the cannon on my civic sound mint is beyond me because it was an old clapped out cannon and I had an old cat (OEM one to be precise) so as dodgy and random as they may seem, I swear by them (until they **** something up) lol... In all honesty, if I purchase it myself, including installation, I'm gonna come in at under $200, which I can handle, but I think this is the way i'm gonna go... next on the list... headers lol...

  16. Hey guys, After the wedding, I'm contemplating putting an exhaust on the rolla. Only problem is I'm not quite sure which way to go. I used to own a Honda Civic (EG) and I bought a cheap cannon off a forum and got it put on and it sounded wicked. Nice note, not too farty, not too drony or loud, just right - a goldilocks muffler if u will. I didn't have extractors or a hi-flow cat or anything like that, just a cannon. Obviously Hondas are different, however I wanted to know what the general opinion is around here. I know cannons are w a n k y most of the time, and also most of the time they sound like crap. Like I said, I had one lucky experience, but does anyone have any recommendations on what I could go with for an axle back set up just to make it sound a bit better in the short term, and something that could obviously be retained when / if I eventually go to a full exhaust set up with extractors, hi flow cat, etc... Especially if anyone has actually done it to this model or knows of someone who has, that would be a big bonus and a big help. Cheers,
  17. Hopefully getting Rolly back from the damn car yard today! He's in getting the air con fixed for the SECOND TIME!!!! and getting that metal swiss cheese tube that tries to pass for an exhaust replaced... although in a couple of months its just getting replaced anyway... thank god its all warranty work... Hopefully I have Rolly back in time for the weekly meet tonight, or else I'll be ****** OFF!
  18. yeah... did the research and found out that the AE92, AE101, and AE112 all share the same front springs but its the rear springs that vary, as the top mount cone for the AE92's is smaller in diameter than the AE101 and the AE112 by about 15mm or so, and also due to the low chassis height of the Corolla in general over the years, with the AE101 and AE112 they didn't make a rear superlow to fit as the rear sits lower than the front anyway... the way that AE112 sits is nice... if I can get mine to sit like that i'll be stoked!   20. I'm fairly new too but I'd still like to say welcome. I have a sick fetish for echos I'm sorry to say, but for me they're very impractical so I've never owned one. Would still love an Echo Sportivo in Obsidian black lol. The yarii are pretty nice too for a small car. The holographic speedo still trips me out. The biggest small car around and big as in what it offers. Hope u have fun on the forums.

  22. I ended up going superlows off an ae92 for front and ae112 lows on the rear. Should make it sit nice. Told the guy at king springs what I wanted to do and this was the advice he gave me.
  23. Lol. I'll say yes but I didn't wanna hassle u. I still owe u for the stereo install. Whenever ur free. I wanna be there so I can learn. I wanna paint them first tho. Make them match the calipers. How many bottles of jd u want lol.
  24. Ummm no. Some kind of tool to fit them I'm guessing? Or hoping. Please advise further. I usually just give it to the shop to do. I'm trying something new.
