  1. this is something i just knocked up for kicks, i dont think its sticker worthy, but still....
  2. if you guys use a corolla shape then anyone else without a corolla will look a bit stupid. its almost like putting a NISMO sticker on a Honda.. well not really..
  3. one of the guys from work, who owns a S2000 was saying the new s2000 (latest build) o/s comes with a new Honda 2.4ltr 4cyl NA VTEC motor capable of over 200KWs. if im not mistake right now, the original s2000s specs are 170kws or so..
  4. the 2zz is less HP than the American 2ZZ as theyre tuned down to run on local fuels over there. American spec celica HP < Japenese spec Celica HP
  5. i agree with orrock and peekay man you need to chill, I understand you have to keep the peace, but really all he did was point out a reepost. And that post a few above from this where the guy says he gets 650 off a tank INSANE.....
  6. ahhh whats with the bitch slapping? seriously gentleman, lets not be panzies and move on from this... welcome 1zz
  7. nope they got it right hahah celica-engined corolla :D But makes you think IF they can do this to the sportivo then perhaps theft with celicas isnt too much of an issue either? This is the first Ive heard of the Thefts though.. (OT) Spotted BLACK Sportivo running down M4 Eastboun with TRD badge where toyota badge should have been on the rear. Spotted BLACK sportivo plates SC...? on M4 as well same day.
  8. congrats mate. I have the 8450 in the celica. great Head Units, you wont be dissapointed!
  9. The first batch of celicas 99-2000 (in america) were produced with the ~8400 redline. Unfortunately due to mishifts and engine problems, toyota figured kids were thrashing these engines and so brought the rev limiter down to about ~7600 i think, somwhere in the "7" range anyways. I dont know if this does or doesnt apply to us, but realise its 2004 and toyota have had time to revise the rev limiters etc on these engines. That car in the vid had an AEM CAI and powerFc. The powerFC's are awesome, as you can see the low-mid torque curve increase is WILD!. but alas, its just under 2000 dollars to buy and tune :(
  10. As title stated, Video of celica reving through to lift, not bad http://www.ksbservices.com/powerfc/8600shift.wmv Celica with just AEM CAI and PowerFC. posted on one of the celica forums, thought id share sharmz.
  11. orrock classic stuff mate Well for normal cars, using "NOS" (NAWS) will inevitably effect the longevity of an engine. theyre not designed to run Nitrous Oxide, and IF your thinking of using it to boost your car as you attemp to jump, at high speed, over opening bridges, then please end yourself now. grimlock if you have the 1zz would that mean your engine is VVTI and NOT VVTLI(LIFT). in which case, have you driven, or what are your thoughts on "LIFT" and would that be (or not be) what your looking for (More power at higher RPMS)?
  12. You have PM (personal message).....
  13. was that a random guess? <_< only reason i ask is some poeple have said (american) that the black box holds approx. 15 minutes of data..... exec mate I sincerely Hope they help you out through this and you come infront, It sounds like youve been exceptionally patient hey.
  14. THe blackbox is rumoured to be present in both american(GTS) and I believe australian celicas (2zz), In america it was used for gathering data about the final minutes of an engines running time (like the VT post above). It could and has been used to show evidence of mis-shifts and "thrashing". With the guy who mis-shifted the celica here in sydney, the dealership looked up his "computer" and found the engine has revved to some crazy RPMs as a result of his shifting. He also was without a car for six months or so as they ordered special replacement parts from overseas. I would imagine the sportivo, employing the same rev-happy engine would have the same black box setup. Its not really that hard, all someone has to do is ask the spare parts/service people at the dealership, Im sure theyd have more info.. According to the americans though there are varying stories on it, some people say the black box records all the time (well the remaining few minutes before engine shut down), others have said that the ECU only "writes" this data when an error/engine light or "CEL" warning for the american celicas, would light up on the console.
  15. hahahahaahhah sorry hhahahahahahahahahahahahah
  16. E-Gene Im guessing u mistyped man, you mean its illegal to have the motor running WITHOUT anyone in the car, as I didnt know that was the case? or are u serious about your first post?
  17. man Id love to but i dont have ten grand to pump into the turbo and parts setup Id need... :(
  18. steve can we please look into having location put up, it would make organising meets as well as the buy/sell process alot easier. thanks mate. sharmz.
  19. hahahah aaah...So Dan how is that not a show car? I wasnt criticizing it, i was merely saying if its not road worthy then that the car would not be used as a daily driver like ours, thats all. by the way i love the car, ive spoken to the owner a few times from another celica site, hes a good bloke.
  20. COME On details with the cop story!!!!
  21. but isnt that strictly a show car, its not road legal i think? also someone somewhere posted he was having some dramas with the turbo setup..?
  22. magic take it to castle hill toyota man, you'll be happy with the service, theyre decent. Western toyota, ahh, i went there to buy my 7th gen celica, when i went there, they let me test drive it, great price, ready to roll, we wanted to buy it. I had them inspect my 93 celica, and asked for a trade in so we could buy the new one. They had the inspector out, now privately i could easily have gotten 10 or 12grand + at the time, the inspector comes out and tells us, yep, we can trade that in for 2 grand!. We told them to screw themselves. and according to spare parts there, a replacement fog light bulb for the celica is $800 yeah, but there is this nice sales chick who works there/served us
  23. ****. man ride a bicycle or something for the next few weeks. isnt ur car still suffering from the hail damage to? youve only had ur car for what, a month or two?
  24. I had the same problem tones, But i just had my service and the car is running alot more solid now. it was a big service to so yeah, less noise!!
