I was telling him to take it easy, atleast for the first 1K seeing as though its a brand new engine.......worst case scenario after 1-2K start using lift and see the difference and u can have it serviced/checked if there are any dramas within the first 3-5K... But atleast take it easy for the first K, he said hes been staying out of lift and hitting just under 6KPM......I would have thought u should keep ur revs lower than that for the first K, i mean ur not hitting lift but still 6k! wouldnt u try to keep it between 3-4ish K or something..? I mean really if ur gonna drive around at under first 500Km hitting 6KRPM then u may aswell get it over with and give lift a go... what u all think?

im not too sure man, ud prolly have to check with a celica site, but youd find that ifu have a front clip or engine 3sGTE from a same model celica then its pretty much a simple swap + a few parts for the turbo etc....the thing is finding the right version 3sGTE as there are different models, some models (eg89-90ish for example) may fit different to a later generation 3sgte. After u find the closest match for ur model celica, it will simplify the swapping over and require minimal wiring etc..... check out celica.net there is a 6th gen site someplace too

i dont think u can. mine are loud too also, but i think its standard setting, its just the way theyre designed so u can hear em over music or noise outside.... just turn ur music up when u reverse park...

flogging it is one thing, but isnt it true that if u regularly work the brakes hard and then soft again, especially if the brakes is not designed for this pattern of wear and tear, that it can end up becoming glassy and scratch teh **** out of your disks etc.. btw the celica has the same break squeal, and rattles too i know u guys dont agree with me here, but i have just come to accept these flaws because i still like the car....and at the end of the day if I were in any real position where these flaws really made me hate my car, then i would surely get rid of it and never buy it again.. Dont flame me for that comment, its just my 0.02c, ive experienced the same dramas u guys have and i still have them, but ffs guys you have such and awesome car on your hands....drive hard and enjoy it bendix make good performace brakes, the only thing is they will put alot more wear and tear on though?

penrith toyota and castle hill toyota have spare parts departments that stock and direct order TRD parts from japan...all u need is a TRD catalogue or go in and speak to them mate..

hmm i was at castle hill toy on friday...i happened to see a new black stivo fresh off the docks in plastic wrappings and all......im thinkin it was xtigers as it was the only one at the dealership....

hahahha err for that post where we were talkin about motor magazine and the astra, mini etc.... you cannot really compare those cars equally with the stivo or any non-turbo smal car as its requirements, driving, handling and design in general will be different. IMO the turbo cars will always "seem" better such as thr astra, mini because the turbo would give the torque where the 2ZZ struggles...., but the class of car which would make a more fair comparison would be stivo to a focus or laser or mazda etc etc if u get my drift... besides it seems sometimes that the mini and astra are way overpriced and over-rated...

err so what will u be cruisin to homebush in on sunday then?
