    Custom Prado

I love your prado it looks great mate,I used to own the same model prado, and I loved it, best car I ever owned, I dont get the NBA,NFL comment, only reason for the comment that people cant afford one or havent got one?it really gets on my nerves that dingbats come up with these brain dead comments.
  2. Hi don, I agree with you, I think 95 is better fuel than 91, I use to 95 in my old 4 litre prado and in our territory and get better economy and power ,but like you cant see any difference between the two in the kluger, whether or not the kluger got a different state of tune, who knows, the 98 is great, but the price difference is a bit steep, I havent done the maths, but been told its actually cheaper to use the more exspensive 98, the debate still out there, but im also got the privlige of having a salary sacrafice with a company fuel card so the price difference isnt that big of a deal.
  3. Reading this post reminded me when a jerrycan of petrol leaked on to my rubber mat in my old prado, petrol was everywhere and the matt looked terrible, it all bubbled up and looked horrible, I was wondering what I could do fix the rubber mat, I sprayed auto glym interior cleaner and protector all over it and waited to the next day and I was blown away, the matt looked like it did before the petrol leak, im not sure if the auto glym is called interior cleaner and protector, but its the auto glym version of armor, I like auto glym products aswell as meguires, they may be cost a little more, but are worth it.
  4. Nice hilux mate, the 4.0v6 hiluxes are great little utes with loads of pretential, keep up the good work mate, love to hear how she all goes for you when she all finished.
  5. With my kluger,I really couldnt find any difference in performance or economy, when using 95 over 91, but 98, thats a different story, the kluger loves it, especialy bp ultimate, she gets up and boogies, the car feels more liverly and the power deleivery is smoother. I notice while driving around gently, that when going around a corner or lightly accelerating the transmission sometimes seems to have a gap, it doent seem to know to shift up or down, I had the same problem with my old prado, but in general the gear shifts are seemless and precise, its only when slowly accelerating or decerating there seems to be a bit of a gap in the gear changes, but im not worried about it because as I said in general its offers smooth and precise changes.I
  6. Congratulations mate, you love the kluger, they just eat up the miles, I bet you would of had hardly any sleep, waiting to pick up your baby, I know I didnt before I purchased my kluger, anyway mate goog luck with the kluger and have a safe trip you and your family.
  7. Hi don,I think they may have sprayed somthing else on the clear plastic, like a petroluem product, like accetone or turps or a cleaning product that contains benzine, which will destroy plastic, because I use a meguires interior cleaner protector or auto glym, which does a great job of protecting the plastics in the interior, when cleaning the instrument cluster I put a small ammount on a rag, so the spray doesnt run down inside the cluster and never had a issue with clear plastic drying out, Im not sure if any of the interior products still contain silicone or not, what I try a bit of interior protector cleaner on a rag and see if it brings the plastic back to life, if that doesnt works and this is only a guess, try a product like a plastic restorer, that cleans clear plastic, like head lights, that can be purchased at any auto supplier, they probadly beable to advise which products to use, I would try this first, before trying to replace the clear instument cover. Im not sure if it will help mate, but I would give it a go first, let us know how you get on.
  8. Hi kluger mum, I think you have done well with that price, I have seen a few in the late thirties, but thats in nsw and I think they were only 5 seater and didnt come with rear parking sensors, or floor mats, so I would be stocked with that price, only thing if you wanted to extend your warranty, if you plan on keeping your car more than say three years, you might beable to get them to get it in the deal. If you were willing to wait a couple of months you might get it cheaper with end of year sale ,but I think you have got a good deal and if your like me you cant wait to drive and get your new car, you find the wait painfull. good luck with your new kluger, look forward hearing how you get on with the deal.

    SEAT WARMERS

CHEERS FHERRE, now I know my seat warmers are working properly, mine the same you wont burn your bum or get to hot, but they are great on cold mornings and they warm up pretty quickly,im in the same boat as you I dont use them very often, only in the winter, here in dubbo, the mornings in winter can get in the minuses, so they make sitting in a cold leather seat, nice and comfy, they dont get as hot as my mates CX9 seat warmers, but im happy enough with them, they actually keep you warm without the cabin heater on some mornings.
  15. Welcome to the forum mate, been a hilux owner myself(1998 LN167), I give my best shot to any questions you may have, look forward to chatting with you later.
  16. Milo I should think the hinge rattle would be covered under warranty, I look at my bonnet hinge, but I think mine is the dash clips , mine only rattles when its cold, a recent trip to newcastle the otherday when the days were pretty warm and not the slightest rattle, anyway I check out the bonnet hinges and try the the sponge near the hinges, you never know, I might be lucky.
  17. Haha! Know the feeling Ghostivo! I have it every time when I see car next to me opening door. I feel like saying "let me open the door for you Sir/Madame" and they would say "No No it's ok! I like opening the door of my sh!tbox myself so I have the pleasure of hitting another persons car" "I like the sound of it you know?" LOL what's even more scary is when they are trying to push the trolley in between the cars to reach the boot!! Yeah, thats another thing that gives me the first class sh!ts, d!ck heads that try and squeeze a trolley beetween cars when theres barely enough room to walk beetween them, seriously whats wrong with people, I think when these dingbats were in line for brains, they must of been at the back of the line and they must of ran out of brains and were given sh!t instead, because it amazes me how stupid people some can get.
  18. I know what you mean, it bugs the sh!t out of me, its mostly from no hopers that drive sh!t boxes and dont give a f#$k, just because they dont own a nice car no one else should and they mighten give a toss if there car gets scratched, but we do, you work hard to buy it and take care of your car and you get dingbats that dont care.I have been the victim on a number of occasions, clowns opening there door on to my car, idiots that cant reverse out of a car park without hitting my car and not leaving a note or nothing and the list go on,I know accidents happen but they should have the common courtesy and leave there details, I know I would, when I bought my prado a couple of years ago, some creep keyed up the side of the car and did $1600 worth of damage and to make matters worse, I only had it for 3 days,if I caught who ever did that to my car I would shove whatever they scratched my car with up there ***** and then snap there fingers off and shove them up there ***** to, I know they wouldnt scratch somone elses car again, yeah its hard to control your emotions, its just the disrespect that really bugs me, and its the cost of fixing it and hope everything looks the same after its been resprayed, but thats my whinge, but my heart goes out to anyone who has had there car damaged or sratched, it sux. Thanks for your reply David! It's good to know how others feel or handle these situations:) And I agree 100% with you about disrespect and jealousy! Mother f@%#ers... Sorry for swearing so much on this topic but had enough of these people. Lets see if from this we find a solution that will benefit everyone in this forum. We just need people to post thoughts and ideas:) Thats allrightmate, you have every right to swear and let off some steam, its a tough one what the solution for some peoples lack of consideration, I know now I park down the back of the car park were theres least amount of cars, but not always you can do this and these turkeys that cant park straight and take up two car spots and park crookard, I think a good way to stop alot of car park hit and runs is more security cameras, I know you wont stop it completly but it would make a difference and at least you would have some way of knowing the creeps rego that ran into your car, I think some old values need to be bought back, respecting other peoples property.

  20. Welcome to the club mate, I use to own a 2004 v6 4x4 tabletop, what type is your hilux?.
  21. Definetly mate, the extended warranty is a great idea, when I bought my used kluger just after christmas I got the extended warranty, and Im glad I did, 2 months later I had the clunk in the steering, which the intermediate shaft had to be replaced, but I didnt have to pay a cent, all covered under warranty,so try push them into getting the extended warranty in the deal, before you buy it take it for a good long test drive and listen for the clunk and whine,I hope I havent worried with the steering clunk and the whine problem, it was only on a very small number of klugers, my kluger has almost 90000kms on her and the intermediate shaft is only problem I have had with the car.
  22. 100% AGREE WITH YOU MATE,people whinge about toyotas about minor things, own other makes of cars, like I have and you will realise how good toyotas are, toyotas are the best make of cars I have owned by far.
  23. Yeah mate, only a rough guess on pricing, Im not sure how the kluger is that your looking at buying, but have a look on the red book site that give some idea, I better option is to look at car sales web site will give you a more accurate prices, I fine sometimes red book can be out a bit on prices, what ever kluger you end up with, you love it, there the perfect family car, the only thing that I dont like about mine is that middle seat, but each to their own,but it will meet your requirments.
  24. Welcome to the forum mate,I reckon if you can get the kluger at a good price, somewhere in the late 30s to very early 40s it would be a good buy, some people will probadly disagree, but if I was buying a currant model grande with 100000kms on it , thats the sort money I would bee prepared to pay. Your other question buying a kluger with these sort of kms on it wouldnt really be a problem , because the cars only fairly new so it has done mostly big runs and highway kms and been regulary serviced and the dealer will give you the 3 year warranty I would buy it, the kluger is pretty realiable car, the only thing I would check is the steering doesnt clunk when turning, especialy left, caused by the intermediate shaft, it was only a small number of klugers with that problem, also listen out for whine when travelling about 70kmh, there have been a small number with this particular problem, best way mate have a read on this topic on this forum, thats about it in general theres not many thing that go wrong with them . klugers are great cars to drive, they have plenty of power with surprising fuel economy from a large v6 petrol wagon and there so comfy on a long trip, once you own one your love it, good luck mate with purchasing the kluger and hope to chat with you about any thing about your kluger in the future.
