  1. You can probably get one a bit cheaper than that, I've seen them go for as little as $50 but it depends on who is selling/wrecking the halfcut. Chances are you won't notice a difference on stock suspension, but that is just all the more reason to get aftermarket shocks/springs :P
  2. Generally you drill them out The guy I bought the yellow KE55 parts car off had his plates rivetted on because someone kept nicking them and doing drive-offs at the local servo
  3. It's a cruise, not Autosalon :P Last year my g/f went in a ratty old rustbucket of an AE82 Twincam which managed to blow a wheel bearing going down McCarr's.
  4. O'Briens state that they can usually do a repair if it is smaller than a $1 coin (50c is a _bit_ larger :P), and smaller if it is in the driver's direct line of vision. That, and it needs to be more than 5cm from the edge of the screen.
  5. Hi SuperDAve!! its a 1zzfe engine and yes you are right, its just the standard lights check the car does each time you move the key to IGN2 however it remember the last DIY i made Oil or Coolant.... must be only the dealers can clear them somehow.. Umm, those lights always come on when you turn the car to ON, just as in every car. Check engine light, oil pressure light, battery light, ABS (if you have it), airbag etc always flash on startup, it's programmed into the ECU as a quick check to make sure everything is cool. It is only if them come on whilst the engine is running that a real problem is present The only time it might be a bit different is for oil pressure etc immediately after an oil change, it takes a few seconds for the oil to circulate so the oil pressure warning light will be on whilst the engine is running, but only for a couple of seconds or so.
  6. On the Bathurst cruise yesterday, from the twin servos on the F3 to Bathurst and then back to the BP at Kurmond was 400km, and with plenty of hard and spirited driving along Bells Line and a bit of a fang at the Mountain, total fuel consumed was 26L = 6.5L/100km :-) Somehow fuel consumption on open-road blasts is better than cruising along the freeway at 110....
  7. Not quite the best photos for comparison, but some people think the resemblence is uncanny - and they said that to me before I even knew what David Arquette looked like (I was never a big Scream fan). Eye colour is different though (blue as opposed to brown), and it varies depending on how recently I gave the goatee a trim too.
  8. If the US were using H3s I'd be seriously worried :P The H2 and H3 have about as much in common with the HMMWV as a water blaster does with a combat shotgun.
  9. Took the Momos back off because they were too flat to drive to the servo, put stockies back on then drove down the road, pumped the Momos up and put them back on in the forecourt (hope no-one wanted to use the air or water whilst I was there :P) Then ducked up the road to Braye Park and took some photos overlooking town
  10. Just finished putting 17" Momos on the ST162, now to go and pump some air into the tyres which have been sitting on the shelf for 5=6 years :P
  11. Toymods will be your friend. There's a whole dedicated thread to turbo-ing the 18RG, plus several members who have done it or are in the process of doing it themselves.
  12. They don't have them standard, but they were optional. Generally the higher-spec models were more likely to have them (CSX, RV, Ultima etc)
  13. The reason luxury and imported cars are taxed is an attempt to protect the local car industry and workforce. It may not be the best way of doing it, but at least their intent is in the right place.
  14. Way too new, for one thing. The newest Chaser you can easily get in without a private import is a JZX100, and they ended in 2000. You'll notice that most Jap imports are 90s models, as the newer variants aren't yet eligible for import and compliance.
  15. Actually, in an EFI car I'd be worried about the fuel pump running dry before I'd worry about fuel pressure and the rail sucking air. EFI high pressure fuel pumps use the fuel itself as a lubricant, and when you run them dry they ***** themselves very quickly.
  16. Bought these wheels for the ST162, will be putting them on tomorrow Am missing one centre-cap but have been informed that Momo should be able to get one in for me.
  17. I've found it very hard to go wrong with MA61 wheels on RWD Corollas :)
  18. Might want to change that to Carlos Sainz......he's a person, not a saint.
  19. I'll make sure that AE82OC knows about it too - Jason usually rocks up with his FX-GT too. Cruzer, at the moment I'll probably just bring the AE102, Cara may or may not decide to bring the ST162 but the AE82 is slowly getting stripped and wrecked (the shell is RS) so its not getting driven anywhere anymore.

Funnily enough, one of the workshop mechanics/leading hands at my old job upgraded from a VS Clubsport (and a minter at that) to a bog-standard Territory and says that there was a world of difference (with the Territory being almost as fast and much more comfortable). Must make a Commodore that much worse then if the Territory is so crap in comparison to a Kluger.
  21. yeh that is a good idea lol but like mr2zz said they will try and arrange it by age and gen all like that see ur idea was good but i reckon the event organisers might have a b*tch and moan if we all park together i think my mate might be goin as well But has also been said, clubs tend to be focussed around particular age/gen cars anyway (since a large proportion of TOCAU is ZZE/ZRE Corollas, they'd tend to group together anyway). Last year they had most/all of the Supras together, and they tended to belong to the same club anyway. Grouping a club together is different to doing a club display.
  22. Or just turn up all at the same time and park together :P
