    2012 Camry

Completely different argument actually. LED tail-lights affect the driver because it improves the visibility of the car to other road users (both brightness and in reaction time, which can help prevent accidents) whilst increasing component life (and cost savings to the owner/driver). These things are active and important no matter how many people are in the car - however, since the vast majority of cars on our roads are occupied by 2 or fewer people, the adjustability or lack thereof of the rear headrests is of lesser importance. Why else do you think it took so long for power windows to become standard front AND back (rather than just front) in base model cars? Because the back seats saw so little use (or were occupied by kids) that there was no need to add in the extra feature cost. If your complaint about a lack of adjustability in the rear headrests is based around you carrying 3-4 _adult_ passengers (headrests aren't much use if you're too short to even reach them) on a regular basis, then fine, it's a valid point. If you're only likely to be using the front seats regularly, then it just sounds like a whinge for the sake of whinging.
  3. At least we'd probably get better weather in October....
  4. I wonder if the Snoarer is getting a cold, it's sneezing all the time now :D

Those motors are awesome.. but the body is just ugly without a kit IMO.

  5. Well, I thought that it was such a lovely day this morning that I'd go outside and stare at the engine bay of the Snoarer for a little while... Yep, all looks normal there Woops, I was carrying this small section of pipe and some other stuff and I just slipped...is that supposed to go there? Ahh much better now Om nom nom nom.....
  6. The issue with most top-floor carparks (apart from a lot of them not being open at the right time) is that you have to get to the roof first - the Macquarie Centre is a prime example of tight ramps, sharp corners and huge bodykit-ripping speed bumps. And then if you're planning to go anywhere as a group afterwards, you have to filter back down these same ramps in a group about as fast as a geriatric snail would choose a retirement village....
  7. Technically it should be a Camry, not an Aurion :P And whilst it was cool, remember that Wiki articles are frequently molested by numpties who have no idea about encyclopaedic content.
  8. If all you need done is engine oil/filter and air filter then just do it yourself, they're both easy jobs and you'll save on labour costs (which will be most of what a dealership/mechanic would charge). Oil filter is ~$10, oil you can get 5L of a decent brand for $20-30, air filter is about $10-20 or so (been a while since I bought one since I've got a K&N), would take all of half an hour to do, only tools are jacks/chassis stands (although you can get away without them if the car isn't lowered), socket/spanner for the sump plug and an filter removal tool/rubber glove and pan for the oil and filter.
  9. What was the quality like on the Polish one? I remember seeing them ages ago but wasn't really keen on buying something unseen and untested from halfway around the world.. Also selling mine so not really much use to me, but the next owner (who is also on here) I'm sure would be keen to know.
  10. I've been using Ryco filters for probably a combined 200,000k with no dramas whatsoever (except for the one time when the seal stick to the block and I made a big mess of the driveway, but that was my own fault), only went genuine last time because I was already at Toyota for some other stuff
  11. Does sound quite nice, the comments show how little of a clue some people have "4AFE is exactly the same as 4AGE, just with carbies" Idiots....
  12. Sure is still here At this stage I'm taking just about any reasonable offer to get rid of it (assuming the missus agrees too, but she really wants to get rid of it and get cash too)
  13. Just because it's popular doesn't mean it's not illegal...take blow-off valves that go whoosh because they vent to atmosphere for instance

    Auto or Manual

Even the smartest auto will never change exactly when you want it to in all situations. As for sequentials etc, if I wanted to change gear with a button or a paddle I'd boot up my XBox and play Forza. It's not just about changing gears when you want to, it's the combination of pressing the clutch pedal, lifting off (or not lifting off) the accelerator and slotting the lever into place, all at exactly the right time - every gear change is a skilled operation, and the sense of satisfaction you get from maximising your own physical skills beats pushing a button hands down every day of the week for me. Even driving to and from work every day I heel-toe, because I can. It's a dying art these days, unfortunately.

    Auto or Manual

These days it's not about potential anymore, it's the experience. DSGs, paddle-shifts etc are getting faster than traditional manuals and to some extent replicating the experience (ie no 'Drive' mode or torque converter slip etc) of a manual, but there are still people out there (me included) who enjoy the pure mechanical feel, control and connection to the car you get with a proper manual gearbox, and performance be damned.

    BRZ specs

The brake size thing would be referring to the smallest size wheel that would fit over the brakes, not the actual diameter of the rotor
  17. Big question is, why the hell are you running a ~$700k LFA on a trailer dyno on a street out the front of what looks like a shopping centre carpark? That is just asking for trouble
  18. It is to do with the search engine daemons scouring the internet and updating their cache or something
  19. oh for real ?? thats awesome thenn !! i never knew that > > noob !!! Yep, same goes for their house/contents insurance - you don't have to list all the valuables in the house. They implemented all that stuff when they went to their "keep it simple" style a year or so ago.
  20. I seriously need to come on more of the photoshoot meets/cruises.....
  21. Good thing about NRMA is that you don't have to list mods at all, if it's legal then they automatically cover it with no premium increase, you just adjust your agreed value to suit
  22. Numero uno My phone lock-screen background :D Numero duo - badly in need of professional photos (needs a little paint work before then though)
  23. Not really, it's just an engine that continued in use in commercial vehicles and equipment long after it stopped being a passenger car engine. Wouldn't surprise me if it's not a Suzuki SJ/Sierra/Samurai chassis, isn't uncommon to see K-series engines installed in them as an upgrade over the 1.0L 'Zook engine Because it's a K-series - they're indestructible. I know people who have driven them with blown headgaskets without even realising, just topping up the coolant when needed.
  24. Yep, K-series (and Y as well) were/are common forklift motors, pretty sure you can still buy a Toyota forklift with a K-series in it.
  25. Corolla engine, hard to tell capacity without an engine number or sticker, most likely a 1.2, 1.3 or 1.5 litre but could be a couple of others. Indestructible engine either way though.
