  1. Is that right! Well you learn something everyday!
  2. No they wont, simply the Corolla is 4 stud and Camry 5. Have you considered the Aurion? It would certainly be worth the extra $$$ and fuel consumption is around the same for normal driving. But also the Camry is fine, for inspiration take a look at what the yanks do over at Toyota Nation, some pretty nice looking Camrys!

    Rat troubles

Yeah done that. I think there is an endless amount of the rats though. We used to put out a box a night for a while, but every morning it was all gone, and they still kept coming around. So we gave up as it was costing a fortune with no results. We have stoped them coming into the engine now with the moth balls. I think we will have to do some pulling to bits and put some mesh or something to stop them getting in the A/C. The ones here a large cane rats, but they still get in, dont know how though!

    Rat troubles

Hi all, I have a bit of a problem, lately rats have been getting into the A/C system, it seems they may be getting in via the water drains from the windscreen, behind the front wheels. They are bringing palm nuts into they system and eating the nuts and leaving the husks in the system and since we leave the controls set to recycle most of the time its left on the other side on the flap. So if you change it to fresh it all comes down into the fan and causes a lot of noise. (Not mention the smell) We have taken it to Toyota on several occasions, and they have taken the fan out and cleaned it all out. But at $50 a pop it’s a bit of a waste, so we have done it twice our selves. But we are looking for a solution to stop them getting in. Now I know that the fresh air sucks from below the windscreen but where exactly dose it enter the actual cabin its self ? I am thinking behind the left front wheel. Rats here a big problem to cars around the sugarcane, we were told by Toyota to put moth balls in the engine bay each night, to stop them eating the rubbers, and ****** and leaving their dropping everywhere. It works well, been doing on our cars for about 18 months works well! So, any ideas? Oh, car is an 03 Camry.
  5. I don’t think it would be that hard at all, just a few nuts. But the issue is the holes left in the boot lid I should think!
  6. The fog light law doesn’t apply in QLD as such. Because the requirements of Queensland Transport state...a fog light emits yellow light. A pure white light isnt a fog light and is classed as a driving light... which is ok.
  7. Yeah, you wont get the kit quoted there at Pacific Toyota as its sold out and no longer made. Its part of the aftermarket Sportivo range (Ones that didn’t actually come on the Sportivo) the two side skirts are the same, but it has a lip that goes right around the back, and is a little more aggressive looking at the front. Your best bet would be the wreckers, as Toyota would charge an absolute an arm and a leg for one, but they most likely won't sell it to you anyway. Here is a pic to show you the difference in the front of the kit (Only for 02-04 models)
  8. Well the easiest place should be in the owner’s manual on the delivery card. If you don’t have that it should be on the fire wall on the left hand side along with the VIN etc.
  9. Can they do this? There are laws against false advertising, it’s not our fault they were to stupid to take the survey down earlier. Class action any one? :P
  10. Yeah I am about 15km out of Innisfail. No not many up this way on here, but there are two others on Auscam from Cairns.
  11. Yeah I do believe the factory ones are pretty good, we have 03 Camry with over 100k on it and still plenty remaining. I dare say they would be better if we didn’t have the trouble of the disks on the front warping, but we got them machined and they came up good as new. But I should point out we live in the country and only use the brakes about 5 times a trip :D.
  12. Not all gen5s have a Fob remote to release the boot, only the higher trim level ones do. Also I must correct what I said before; the Gen 5 does only have a cable from the leaver on the floor. The reason I thought it was electronic is, there are two wires running into the lock on the boot its self, but they must be for security.
  13. Well no, actually the Gen 5 boot release is electronic even by the lever on the floor. But your right, you would still need to add certain other things to make a remote work. Plus no doubt it would cost an arm and a leg.
  14. Well its definitely good news for Toyota Australia.

  16. Hi, I don’t think any of the Hiace engines will fit but you can get on to a non genuine 4Y engine like we did, my father has a 86 Liteace 4X4 and it came with a 3Y new, back in 2004 we replaced the 3Y with one of these 4Ys and a new carbie, best thing we have ever done, it has almost halved the fuel consumption and the power increase is very surprising, and the increase would be even more in your one as its not 4X4. Plus it has not given us much trouble at all it’s done about 35000 plus a trip across the contry. If you see here, http://www.japparts.com.au/products/Aftermarket-engine.htm I think it would be best if you were to go the long carbie motor as I think some things like the distributor ect are different between the 2Y and 4Y, but we whent the short one as the 3Y and 4Y share a lot on common, but it will bolt strait up, but I should just say its not a job for a novice ! Just ask if you have any more questions
