  1. Well not exactly true. In fact you can buy complete engines manufactured in China. You can buy just about any part for Toyota engines that were in production during the 1980s. My father actually has a Chinese 4Y (2.2) in his 4wd Liteace that originally only came with a 3Y (2.0). I think it has done about 30,000kms. Engine its self is still fine, but there are a few little quirky things about the carburettor. The thing was, it was cheaper in the long to buy a new engine ($1000 for the engine $200 for the carbie) than to rebuild an already tired engine.
  2. Do you know if its the 4cyl or V6?

    Rear Swaybar

I think mine is the BTR39Z which is adjustable with two holes, a little stiffer than the BTR39 I think and obviously comes with the rubber rings standard. I’ve got a front white line one as well, and that to has the rings and is adjustable. Strange why they wouldn’t all have the rings.

    Rear Swaybar

Strange it didn’t come with something to stop sideways movement in the first place. My Whiteline one did, later version maybe?
  5. Some more from au eBay Black Silver
  6. Oh, well I guess some have to learn the hard way. Did your friend put it back into first and just leave it there not knowing what to do or something? Because you would know the moment you where releasing the clutch to immediately push it back in once you felt the car pull back and the revs go up. Shame though mate, I hope everything works out ok for you.
  7. I dont understand why you didnt push the cluch in before the revs got that high. Are you new to driving manuals or something?

    Rear Swaybar

Funny you should mention this, anther member with an Aurion was having a similar issue, and you may get an idea of what it may be. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...showtopic=21456

    sport seats

You have a 4cyl Sportivo don’t you? If so you don’t have side airbags. But in the V6 they are in the lower part of the backrest in the side of the seat.
  10. Actually, I think you will find there isn’t any reflectors in the tail lights them selves, which is why they have them in the bumper in the first instance. If you take a look at the first photo you have taken of the rear of you car, you will see that the reflectors in the bumper are reflecting, but nothing at all in the lights.
  11. Nice mate! Its certainly one of a kind. Yeah thats how it is, it’s the same on the Gen 5 also. I once herd someone say its for PAD Passenger assisted drift lol.
  12. Yep its in there, it is part of the assembly that the filter is attached to.
  13. Yes, it certainly is! And whilst you’re at it you will be able to inspect the float level.
  14. Fell off the back of a truck? ;) I would be very suspicious as to the source, as that’s way too cheap.
  15. I doubt that would be it, as it would run off the same fuse as the dash lights; witch usually the tail light one.
  16. I agree. Back in Tasmania we used to do the same thing, start and have the heat on full to melt all the ice. But now we live in far north Queensland its not an issue, because its 30+ inside the garage by the time we fire up, even hotter in summer. Just lately as it getting cooler my Camry and parents Aurion have been going up to 2000 rpm on start up, but quickly it comes back to 1000.
  17. Yeah well, basically like lateralus said, the difference is about 3% in fuel consumption. Personally I do shift to N in a long wait (road works ect), but just a personal preference, and it wont harm your trans. So basically it makes little difference over all, and just use what you feel comfortable with.
  18. I think he means the one under the clock.
  19. Yeah I don’t know, I guess it must be different, but I know on my parents Aurion once you fill it up, it will go 0.0 then up to 99 and work its way down.
  20. Well Taragos certainly aren’t something that many people mod, especially here in oz. What engine dose it have? 4Y I guess. Fuel injected? But ether way, I wouldn’t recommend a pod filter for these, as they suffer from heat issues as it is with the location of the engine. The current air intake isn’t too bad actually, as it drags it from behind the front bumper, well away from the heat of the engine. You maybe able to get a K&N filter for it. But in all honesty the best thing you could do to get extra power would be a good tune up, and service.
  21. LOL Those cars look stupid to put it mildly. To say they are for protection, that’s why you park your car undercover and keep to paint in good condition by waxing etc. Or at worse, get your roof resprayed, because vinyl would crack and split after 10 years of sun anyway.
  22. MY-06 is the face lift/upgraded version.
  23. I only have the 4cyl, but same model. 1. like others have said, really an individual thing, but FYI I am with AAMI seem ok, never had to make a clam, hope I never will. 2. Shell V-power 3. Servicing is done by my father who is a retired mechanic, and I occasionally ask my brother who was a mechanic with Toyota for a long while for tips etc. but any faults etc I take it to Toyota. 4. http://www.camrystuff.com/index.php?page=Gen5_Manuals (5.5 for you) this site here is very handy.
  24. Well technically its US dollars, so its even more. But either way it doesn’t matter because its not even real person.
