  1. Yeah, both the grille and tail lights will swap over, not 100% sure if the plug on the tail lights are the same, but I cant imagine why they would change it in the face lift, so it should be ok. Your main problem will be sourcing them at a reasonable cost I should think, which is why not many do this.
  2. Well that would depend what side you had the spanner! If you have the handle of the spanner pointing to the drivers side (right) of the car, you should be going to the rear of the vehicle, if handle is on the left (Passanger side), you need to go toward the front.
  3. That’s not what I meant, the link in my first post was a pic of your car with wheels very similar to the new 18" wheels, not the red lipped ones. :) This here: http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...ost&id=7094
  4. Aren’t they the same rims you had in this pic? http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...ost&id=7094 800 bucks dose seem a bit expensive, but it's up to you really, if you can afford it. Maybe get those and try and sell you current mags separately.
  5. If I were you I would go the 5 speed automatic, simply if you intend tour this great land of ours, it will be better on the fuel, plus you get a few extras. It’s a newer model and the same mileage. Also it should have a little bit better resale value.
  6. But its never been like it before. Always very qick to start hot or cold.
  7. In the last few days my Camry (2AZ) seems to have a slightly increased strating time during a hot start. Its not hugely longer, maybe double that of normal. Strange thing is it only dose if you leave it for about 20+ mins after driving it. If you try shortly after stoping, no problem, if you leave it for about an hour also no problem. Cold start is normal also. I was thinking maybe fuel pressure, but if it was, it would happen on the other instances also wouldn’t it? Could it be maybe I need some new spark plugs? Not that it should make any difference but I have been running it on 98RON for about the last 10 tank fulls. Any thoughts?
  8. I think the same actually. As the stock TRD ones really look good! But these are still nice.
  9. Well its quite possible that the spark died whilst driving, could be due to several things really. Did he actually test it to see if there was spark? I guess he must have to come to that conclusion. But that’s not a lot of held as you need someone to diagnose the faulty part so you can replace it.
  10. Poor buggers, don’t know what real heat is lol :P been a lovely 28c with 150mm of rain and counting here in the far north of QLD.
  11. Do you add any detergent solution to the water in the washer bottle? If so could it be drying in the nozzles and then blocking them? Sounds unlikely. But I’ve never had any trouble with my Gen 5.
  12. Take a look here http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...c=17448&hl= http://autospeed.com/cms/A_2547/article.html These guys have done it, and i have seen a few others also.
  13. If you have a bit of a look at what some of the Aurion guys have it will give you a better idea.(Aurion and Camry have the same set up) Do you want sat nav? If so there quite a few guys who have put in the Auspack unit which seems reasonably priced. If you’re after just a good HU also have a search in the Aurion section as there are some guys there that have done that too. Take a look at some of these threads Toyota Aurion Double Din??? How do you remove factory audio unit? DVD player with 7" Screen Installed. Hope this helps.
  14. Are you sure its the lighter its self? It maybe a wiring issue, I have heard of the wire breaking at the back of the socket, so check that first.
  15. Well, the cost factor the 2AZ would be the best replacement, or if you want a V6 I think you would have to go with the 1MZ, but I am not sure if the transmission is the same, I don’t think it is but maybe someone else can confirm. The price of a 2GR would be prohibitive, not to mention if it would fit, by the time you changed it, it would be cheaper to buy another car.
  16. I use V-Power now, but if fuel prices continue to go up it may be back to 91.
  17. Yeah, Toyota owns 51.2% of Daihatsu
  18. By the sound of it I think it would be the heater core that has corrosion in it, so if you had the A/C on you probably had the temperature setting just a little way from the coldest, leaving the radiator water to trickle through and leak out into the fool well.
  19. If you press the report button in the bottom left hand corner of the post, you can leave a comment of what you want done to the post to a mod.
  20. No problem, except they wouldn’t exactly look the best.
  21. As far as I know lateralus is correct. I don’t really know what system 2 would consist of in regards to computers etc. But there is one for the 4cy as the Ateva had the trip computer. I guess the best option would be to go and talk to your Toyota dealer. If you do have any luck with this, I would be interested to know as I only have a 4cy Altise also.
  22. Dearie me that looks cold! Reminds me of Tasmania. brrrr. Do people fit chains to their wheels or do you change tires to a snow type tire?
  23. That’s interesting, just tried it on my parents Aurion and same thing, strange. On the Gen5 Camry in that position all the dash light are off with just the oil light on, and you can run the A/C fan etc with out the engine, but no engine fans coming on like the Aurion. On one of our older Toyotas you can have the key in between the on and acc position and only the charge light will be on, and the engine can still be on.
  24. Or you could just buy yourself one of those tow ball covers that just slip over it very easy to take off when youre coupling a trailer and put it back on after.
