  1. The Honda Accord (the cheap none) is made in Thailand now so we don't really know how it will compare with Hondas of old made in Japan. Also I think the power figures you have quoted might not be that high a quick search from the net of this car Engine Description : Four cylinders, in-line, chain-driven DOHC, four valves per cylinder, all alloy, cast iron cylinder liners, variable valve timing and lift, balance shaft. Capacity (Cm3) : 2354 Maximum Power : 117kW @ 5500rpm Compression Ratio : 9.7:1 Maximum Torque : 217Nm @ 4500rpm 117 is a bit below Toyota's quoted 141
  2. Looking at it financially you say the Mazda is $5K more. So if you borrowed the lot Sportivo $30,000 Mazda $35,000 @ 12.35% (standard unsecured personal loan) over 5 years Sportivo $673 per month Mazda $785 per month Is the Mazda worth $112 per month more - no way Save the $6720 over the 5 years and go O/S for a holiday
  3. OOPS I should have put the above post against thread "Forums these days" Sorry
  4. You should see the mitsubishi forum. It looks exactly the same as TOCA but they have a whole section of jokes. Some pretty good ones too. See here http://www.ozmitsubishi.com/
  5. What does everyone use to clean / treat the leather bits on the seats. I currently use the stuff I bought for my lounge and it seems fine. But I was in Supercheap yesterday and saw some Armourall Leather wipes which are supposed to clean and treat the leather and give stain protection. I wouldn't like to use anything which would make the seat slippery as it's hard enough to stay put on corners as it is. They look like the things you use to wipe baby's bums same packaging etc (probably the same with a different chemical additive. I think the stuff used on the baby's would be stronger - for those that have done the nappy change thing).
  6. Tried it on the way home tonight, works a treat. But changed it back to where it was as I was getting a suntan from it. Really should read the owners manual one day. Nah rather just drive the car
  7. Thinking about a personalised plate. What do you think
  8. Mines silver and it's staying that way and it's been in Brissy on the roads since Aug 2003. Would have liked blue but as my last 3 cars were blue the wife wouldn't let me. But I'm really happy with silver looks great and really hides the dirt unlike the dark colours. I really liked the blue of my T18 though.
  9. Well done impressive performance against some other (faster cars). Your fastest time was on your last lap - does that mean you are still improving with room to get faster.
  10. I have just worked out my best Sprotivo mod. It's my 4 cylinder auto Camry. Why ? Cause it goes to the shops and gets the scratches, it gets the pizza's (and the lingering smells), it keeps the wife and kids out of the Sportivo, it goes on dirt roads to mountain bike races. But best of all when I feel the Sportivo needs more power and handles like cr*p and needs a heap spent on mods I drive the Camry and then I get back into the Sportivo and it feels great. Presto no need to spend any money on the Sportivo :)
  11. I'm in Brisbane but come down Old Cleveland Rd to the city every morning and afternoon. See a couple of Sportivos occassionally on the Southside. There's another guy I know who I cycle train with each Thursday morning who has a black one. But you are right there is not many around in Brisbane
  12. Credit Risk Manager - in a large bank. Do the loan approvals from $5m + mainly property related stuff
  13. MTB - Cannondale Jekyll 700 Maguras (cr**p) but rest of bike is great. Just did the EPIC on it last week 105klm and 1800 metres of climbing (by my altimeter) 7 hours riding time (plus a bit of rest in there due to a sore back) Also ride on the road LOOK full carbon Ultegra . Both fit in the back of the Stivo very nicely with the front wheel removed. But boy is the plastic soft in there. Just don't let any thing rub or you end up with a nasty scar in your cars plastic bits.
  14. I have tried to load my personal photo (Stivo and Cannondale mountain bike my two toys together) but get this message. "Sorry, the board administrator has not enabled your permissions for this part of the control panel". As Rove would say - What the ? How do I get permission. Help page didn't help. Do you need to do a zillion posts or something
  15. I have never been on a cruise but I live in Brisbane and would be interested in tagging along to use up a bit of BP Ultimate
