  1. Hey mtbrider Congrats on the medal at the TRi. Had a customer compete there as well.(RAD Cyclery). Haven't heard about running out of fuel in EFI car is drama - except if it's a diesel. Then you have to manually bleed the injector pump. Now that's not a lot of fun! Are you coming to the dyno day on the 20th NOV? Let me know if you are and want a dyno spot. Cheers SILVABULLIT
  2. Now now don't cry. Just standing up for the underdogs namely those of us who didn't buy black or blue like the majority. We've been picked on long enough. Time to take a stand. What goes around comes around! SILVER forever..... :P :P :P :P :P :P Cheers SILVABULLIT
  3. Danthuyer has just called me and is going to CES this arvo to talk to Trevor. Maybe to get those performance washes welded inside the pipes for ilivfor6 and peekay! Be nice to him boys - he lives just a little bit closer to CES than you do :P But then again he was telling me that you've got some parts for him so does the word leverage mean anything? I'll leave it in your ever so capable and diplomatic hands... Cheers SILVABULLIT :D
  4. Hey Craig Lucky that I wasn't there! Because we all know that silver is faster and better than white! But in saying that white is better than black or blue for that matter. I might join just to give you some competition cause it sounds like there wasn't too much :P Anyway congrats on the awards and if you had me clean your car you could have won more but that's life Cheers SILVABULLIT :D :D :D
  5. Hey guys My fuel consumption figures were done on a tank full of Ampol gold. As I have an Ampol servo about 400m from home I use it out of convenience. Optimax does make the car feel a little more responsive but haven't done an economy check as yet. I can do about 50 to 100km on the fuel light. My wife makes it a repetitive habit! My post on fuel consumption shows the figures etc and when I filled up I put 54.6 litres in the tank which filled it to the spout. Cheers SILVABULLIT.
  6. Well since my last post, I have some more info in the form of my wife didn't fill up after I took the mileage and posted the fuel consumption and proceeded to push the car to 691km which in turn caculates to 7.9l per 100km. Fuel light was definately on that stage and glowing quite brightly! I have just driven slowly down to the servo hoping not to run out on the way. Cheers SILVABULLIT.
  7. I know a couple of good roads out that way which would be nice to drive. Im not available till about 11.30am on that Sunday. PM me for any other details regarding cruise. Cheers SILVABULLIT.
  8. From what he told me it sounds like the diff centre flexed that much in the gearbox case that it stressed the case enough to allow a bit of mis-alignment and consequently damaged some gears and filled the box with metal fillings. Was lucky to get Toyota to flit the $2000+ bill under warranty. :P
  9. Ask Hames what big revs and dumping the clutch does for the health and wellbeing of your gearbox! It needed a trip to the dentist, doctor and every other specialist!
  10. AND SILVER ECLIPSES ALL! BOTH WHITE AND BLACK SHOW THE DIRT - SILVER DOESN'T(THAT'S THE CAR DETAILER COMING OUT IN ME) BLACK SEEMS TO BE A BIT TOO COMMON. MIGHT BE ALRIGHT DOWN SOUTH WHERE IT'S ONLY HOT FOR A SMALL PART OF THE YEAR. BUT UP HERE WHERE WINTER LASTS FOR ABOUT 8 WEEKS SILVER ( AND TO SOME DEGREE WHITE HEY DANTHUYER!) IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO. CHEERS TO THE EVER WASHING BLACK STIVO OWNERS(DON'T SCRATCH IT NOW WILL YOU! :P :P ) SILVABULLIT :D
  11. Hey guys Just got figures on my economy. With some highway driving and city commuting I achieved 8.1 litres per 100km. Not bad for a performance orientated car! And that wasn't driving like an old man either. Interestingly enough for those concerned my economy is better than when I last tested it pre exhaust system(9.8l per 100km) under similar driving conditions. Cheers SILVABULLIT. :D
  12. Where did you find a road long enough? Without blue bottles around? I've had my Stivo to 215 on the Gateway Mwy. Early morning with no cars around but still a bit risky. Be careful with videoing your fun. If it falls into the wrong hands you're screwed! Seen it happen to a customer of mine. Ask JC - he was there and lucky not to lose his ute. Cheers SILVABULLIT
  13. Hey everyone Who's coming to the dyno & show/shine day. So far it's myself, JC and Danthuyer who are definates. Would it be possible for everyone even if your not 100% sure to notify me of your intent to come? Sorry to harp on about this but just need an idea of numbers for logistics to put the day on. So contact me asap to make my job of putting this event on a little easier. Thank you SILVABULLIT :D PS also let me know if you want to put your car on the dyno.
  14. Hey Greg System is from the cat back. Can be manufactured in stainless or mild steel. I have stainless on my car and sounds great. Not too loud, not too quiet, just right. Makes the car so much nicer to drive. JC posted some pics of my car about a week and a half ago. There is a shot of the rear muffler and tail pipe. Danthuyer has heard it and had a bit of a look( as much as you can see on a lowered car!) Ask him for his thoughts - semed to be impressed. Peekay and Ilivfor6 have already ordered their systems. Greg if your around come to the dyno day and get a good look at one on and off a car. Cheers SILVABULLIT :D
  15. JC would come if available even though he hasn't yet got his car. Possible destinations - Mt Tamborine, Mt Glorious and my favourite Springbrook using the Mudgeraba Advancetown Rd. Awesome never ending corners that open out into long straights... Sound like fun?
  16. Where was map81's dyno done? CES have their own dyno, albeit a little old but it works well. Another little project i'm working on at the moment required a dyno run so I went to C&J motorsport who have a dyno dynamics dyno and are probably the most reputable dyno shop in QLD. Go past there any day to see a huge variety of race cars etc as well as they are a unichip dealer.(they have done a stivo upgrade approx 6-8kw increase. they couldn't remember exactly how much) Anyhow it proved that the dyno at CES reads exactly 2kw less than theirs. So it just shows that although the CES dyno is getting old its still pretty close to being on the money. A dyno day run at most other shops costs about $40 -$50 so the $25 we are being charged is pretty cheap. Come along on the 20th Nov and put your car on the dyno. Doesn't matter if it's stock - it will be a good comparison between car and modifications and hopefully post some graphs and results for everyone to view. Thanks for the wrap Danthuyer! :D
  17. I'm a run of the mill sport loving car mad Australian born and bred battler who's learning to use a computer!
  18. Another notable comment is the possible cost of repairs. If you have a prang and say half the airbags go off, there's a nice repair bill. If you didn't know the engine in the SP23 is the engine out of the Mazda 6! Goes better in a lighter car that handles and stops better but the engine is very harsh and prone to transfering vibrations through the controls(steering, gear shift, pedals etc) throughout the rev range. Makes the Stivo feel quite smooth and as far as gear changes are concerned it's almost possible to get the tyres chirping when shifting into 3rd with the Mazda's truck weighted flywheel! Changing quickly results in the usual thump and *****. I'm sounding a bit biased but I looked at a lot of cars before buying and the Stivo wins hands down for value for the hard earned dollar. Besides the Stivo has the somewhat "sleeper " tag attached to as every V8 driving bevan thinks it's a base model with the old bodykit and fancy wheels. Ask JC - he's a V8 ute man who's seen the light! He just wishes that the bloke in the new Rolla didn't rear end him to prove a point! Cheers SILVABULLIT :D
  19. Hey kcorro I don't use autoglym as it isn't cost effective for me to use day to day on other peoples cars. It's a great product and does perform well but is costly. I use meguairs products for my business dealings and also use Farecla polishes and cutters for some show/concourse jobs as well. Again, Farecla is a german brand used by elite panel shops and vintage car restoration experts but is a bit on the expensive side, so it's used sparingly! Cheers SILVABULLIT :D
  20. Hey Chompies The sp23 does have more torque and extra airbags etc but where is runs out of power the Sportivo is alive and kicking. Gearbox in sp23 is very family car orientated and as far as handling is concerned you can feel that it's a heavier car than the sportivo. I was impressed with the dash layout and interior design and does come with a few more extras than the Sportivo but the Sportivo definately has the more sporty feel and excitement factor about it. If you want to talk further then PM me. Cheers SILVABULLIT :D
  21. Hey Peter Man so sorry to hear about your car. Probably the best smash repairer closest to work for you is G&C bodyworks in Randall ST.(runs parallel with Moss ST) It's about half way up on the right hand side. Seen some of their work and seemed to be pretty good. Have a couple of customers who use them and are happy with them. I think Motorama Holden use them also for warranty work. Need to know any thing else call me on the number I gave you today. Cheers SILVABULLIT.
  22. Hi everyone Well we've finally managed to get the dyno sheet showing the comparison between the standard system and the CES system. The graph is posted on the dyno day thread. A big thanks to JC for doing this as I had no idea how to do it, but will soon! Cheers SILVABULLIT :D :D
  23. When they decrease, its actually slower. ← Sounds like candidates for an Australian built Custom exhaust system that actually makes power not loses it!
  24. Thanks JC for posting this for me. AS you can see the CES system is a marked improvement from the word go, with increased power in the lower rev range as well as the marked improvement when lift kicks in. All in all, makes the car a lot nicer to drive with more responsiveness at light throttle as well as the car seems to cruise more effortlessly at higher speed. Just to let you know that production will begin on this system within the next 2 weeks depending on the workload at CES. Any other queries contact myself or call CES direct on 07 3200 2333. Cheers SILVABULLIT.
  25. Hi All I'm in the middle of doing a fuel economy check on my Stivo. Just checking to see if the exhaust has made any considerable change to the economy. Anybody who has any figures on their car before/after mods so I have a yardstick to measure with would be greatly appreciated. Please include mods if possible.
