  1. Guess that says it all. Silver is the goods.!!! white shows the dirt. Red fades too quick. Black shows everything from scratches to dirt to chips. And blue..... well it's just a sort of well lighter shade of black.
  2. Corolla rear suspension has no camber adjustment from memory. It is fixed and when you lower your car you will have slightly more camber on the rear wheels. As for paying $150 for the camber kit from Whiteline I hope that is fitted cause I can get them for about $80. Also Whiteline only do front camber kits for the Corolla not for the rear. Cheers SB :D
  3. In other words turboed fast next generation Cressida's LOL
  4. Old school my friend...78 model weighs 750kg and with 160-180hp.....lots a fun!!!!
  5. It's hard for me to gauge exactly how much i have spent on this car as nearly all the work on my car I have done in house and parts/items have been purchased at trade prices etc etc. My guess is roughly for all parts and labour it would come to about $15000 give or take a little. Well my other cars have soaked up a hell of a lot more than that and neither of them are on the road at the moment. Kombi spendage roughly $30 000 including purchase price. Civic spendage roughly $20 000 including purchase price. So the Sportivo is looking not too bad at the moment.... well if i add the purchase price to the 15k..... :o :o I DON'T WANT TO KNOW AND MY WIFE DOESN'T NEED TO KNOW EITHER (LOOKING AT YOU AZZA AND NORTHY).......
  6. Nope as they would just cost too much. Already looked into that. OK news is that the panels will be ready for me to pick up middle of next week. YAY!! I will send you all a PM to get your addresses etc and the final payment. for those who are in say Sydney please nominate one person that i can send them to so it saves everyone on postage. Then you can have a "group fitting" outing to fit your panels.!!Those outside of major cities etc I will send directly to you of course. cheers Silvabullit. :D
  7. I got some things from Warwick but the time taken to get them was absolutely ridiculous. A set of Headers and clutch from memory took nearly 3 and a bit months to arrive and I had to keep chasing him up(ON HIS WORK EMAIL) and it took sometimes 3-4 days to get a reply. bruce ended up doing a large order for me as he matched the price and his freight charges were approximately a 1/3 of what Warwick was going to charge plus Warwick seemed like he didn't want to do it. Mind you it was an order of some $2500 so I thought it would have been worthwhile. But I guess not...
  8. Should be out tonite if the black limo is calling by to pick me up.....
  9. I believe that shao doesn't have his anymore and has gone back to something Toyota???? Never had a thing for euro cars apart from old VW's. Built from real steel. And will be around for another hundred years. What did you think of the gearshift in the MPS3?? I thought it was too long and felt like the shift from a family orientated car.
  10. Guys have been away on holidays and stuff for the past week. i willbe calling them for a progress report this week to see how we are travelling. More news soon....
  11. It'll look good with a certain set of wheels(cough cough)
  12. Bout time The Bronc's got the benefit of the doubt when Simpkins is the ref. Of all the games I have watched we have kinda always got the rough end of the pineapple. Maybe times are a changin.........
  13. If you are going to have 3-400kw for a car to run hillclimb then I'd say to go and watch them for one as that sort of power using a turbo set up is going to be an absolute handfull and a useless power band. You need torque and a lot of it at the lower end of you rev range. current Australian hillclimb champ(from memory!!) runs a 2 litre Kombi motor modified with a big roots type S/C on top which gives it a heap of torque to get out of the corners quick and pulls up the hills with ease and not a million revs. For rally it'll be too much as you need to get some power on the ground or you will literally destroy a set of tyres on every stage. That gets expensive. I also was going to mention the turbo restrictor for rally as you can only run a certain amount of boost as well. I would do some more homework and look at engine options with a more usable power band as trying to do rally or hillclimb with that sort of power will be extremely hard to handle and reliability will be questionable. cheers SB:)
  14. Seems a little quiet in Melbourne????? Chokers perhaps????? Tough luck but the best team won and my neighbourhood is rather noisy at the moment!!!
  15. Didn't say that I beat him did I???Nor did I say that he spanked me badly??? No, very true, but I felt it was implied. I can move on. Turbo cars take less $$$ than a N/A car to make big gains. ****, no sh*t, Sherlock. Which begs to ask the same stupid question; why waste the money on a Sportivo if you're after straight-out power? Again, this is what KaZe-StiVo is after. And, for the third time, I've said you're better off with a forced-induction car. Get over it. Or as you said, "wake up". Does it need saying once more? As for microtec.... mate you just blew any credibility you may have had with that comment. Microtec is rubbish <_< I have friends who have great success running Microtec ECU's on their BPT/BPD Mazda motors (261HP with an LT8, for example), so I'm sure you can appreciate the tuning that's gone into such a highly modified motor. Like you said, horses for courses. I readily admit there's a lot of other stuff on the market; Microtec sprang to mind before the others, but I can list off Autronic, Haltech, MoTeC (all three much more expensive). My point is a fully programmable aftermarket computer is better than a piggyback chip. And since I have no experience with any of them I'll pass no judgement between brands. Can you say you've had experience with Microtec or their competition to justify your claim they are "rubbish"? And what would you know about credibility anyway? Wow, you supposedly ran an XR6T "close". I've little doubt your 'Rolla is quick, but if you'd raced on a dragstrip I might take your claims a bit more seriously. I ran an F355 really close last week in my wagon. Yes I have had experiences with Microtech and it wasn't at all good and have had evperiences with Autronic and Motec which are a lot more expensive but you get what you pay for. But then the Mazda boys love Microtec and it works for them. Horses for courses. I have no doubt that a XR6T would beat me on a strip but as most people who own a Sportivo know that on the move it is a slightly different story ;)
  16. K&N Apollo all the way to choking your engine's performance is what I thought you said
  17. Yeah love some of the new ones
  18. I'm going to assume that your Sportivo is running 14's or so (edit: hot car by the way, but in your garage it says you hope to run 14's? For my curiosity has it been on a strip yet?). Spend the money you've spent on it (about $1500 going from your garage, plus $350 for the uprated rubber) on an S15 (or an XR6T) and I'll be dumbfounded if they're slower. Another few grand on either should see you running flat 13's if they aren't already, possibly 12's. Sure it's not a granny hatch, but it's ultimately faster, and what KaZe-StiVo is after. A piggy back computer is a waste of money; $500+ for a paltry 10kw gain? And I'm not surprised Powerchip haven't considered the 2ZZ; it's already a massively high-strung motor. I know it's a Toyota donk, but how much further can you take it beyond economical sense? (I realise a lot here have, but it's not without risk). You might as well get a Microtec or something and have the ability to tune everything with regard to the fuel you're using, how you're driving it, etc etc. Didn't say that I beat him did I???Nor did I say that he spanked me badly??? He was surprised that He couldn't get away as easily as he thought he could. As for your comparing money spoent on a N/A car to turbo mate wake up. Turbo cars take less $$$ than a N/A car to make big gains. Powerchip didn't do a chip cause they couldn't see themsleves selling volumes of them like they would for a Commodore or Falcon. As for the possible gains to be made on a Sportivo well it all depends on how much you want to spend. some choose to spend heaps and do make gains but not the same as on a turbo car.(pretty obvious) But not everyone wants to drive /own a turbo car. Horses for courses. My last run was 15.4 with gearbox and clutch issues and am organising to hit the strip again to see the difference as i can now get 2nd gear and have no major clutch shudder. As for microtec.... mate you just blew any credibility you may have had with that comment. Microtec is rubbish <_<
  19. Gazoom this idea will work!! what you need to do is make a box to seal the filter inside. then have a cold air feed to it whether via a bonnet scoop or pipe from the front of the car somewhere. I f you can get enough air into the box it will pressurise it and you will make a noticable gain in performance as it will then be forcing air in due to the pressure created in a sealed box. Give it a go mate. Sit down and nut out a design then get some prices from custom manufacturers to make it for you.
  20. Seen as I started the topic I guess that i would be a Bronc's supporter too
  21. The advantage of the CES CAI with the HPC coating is that after driving on the freeway for about 25 minutes at speed(Northy was driving not me LOL) we got to our Thursday night meet point and somebody asked to have a look at it. We lifted the bonnet and then somebody commented about the HPC coating and does it keep it cool and not really thinking about it before I said well grab it and find out(Knowing that the TRD CAI gets very hot) and they were amazed that it was only luke warm. I then grabbed it with both hands(The CAI that is although I need 2 hands to keep it under control... 1zzfe can relate to that!!) to see that the pipe was actually only just warm. The coating definately reduces the heat drastically and also stops a lot of heat soak into the pipe which the benefit would be cooler air. So really the CES Cai is a true Cold Air intake.. of sorts :P Cheers SB :D
  22. All I can say is i hope the Bronco's form slump continues next week as well!! The Bulldogs thought they had them licked at half time but we just were giving them a sporting chance. 31 - 0 in the second half and they couldn't make any excuses about players missing etc etc. just love it when Gus Gould has basically nothing to say now thats Gold!!
  23. One of these things in stock form are not all that quick. Have seen a few get rather embarrased by a few Brissy members. But a trip to get a decent exhaust system fitted and open up the intake and they do come to life. ;)
  24. Man your imagination is something else Rob!!! Classic
