  1. For anyone visiting this topic regarding the ruptured oil line; I have had mine replaced with a metal line (out of warranty) at no cost. The guy said that there is a factory recall so you should not be paying for the replacement. If you need the recall number PM me. Cheers
  2. When the oil line degrades, does it actually drip oil? I guess the oil has to go somewhere and the oil pressure light would come on?
  3. Hi @wilsact 233000 kms.. It ended up costing me $1297 - took 6 hours to do at a Toyota dealer beginning with J.. with new coolant as well. They did replace a hose with a metal one under a recall, I will check if it's the vvti one. Amazingly the Kluger went in for a service a month ago at a dealer beginning with CM..(could have been same dealer as your brother in-law) and they did not even talk about the hose...they were also $700 more expensive and needed the vehicle for 3 days. Shows it pays to shop around. The service at J.. was more than amazing and to top it off...really good coffee too ! M
  4. Many of us have tried all combinations, including a mixture 60% 91RON 40% 98RON. For me 95 works best on my Kluger. 98 is just burning $$. This may be different for other vehicles but the Kluger is special when it comes to fuel consumption.
  5. TLong, See Idle Pic below: Cheers I have GSU45R AWD Grande 2007 with side steps, nudge bar, roof racks. Using Caltex fuel I was getting terrible results (even their premium) I changed to BP 95 and it is way better. Do remember that if you start / stop and wait at lights often in your drive, the econo will start to creep up. Mine is on 13.9 this morning but traffic was a bit backed up (Adelaide backed up that is) Cheers Hi Mervin, Out of curiosity, what RPM's does your engine idle at? Mine idles at just under 750rpms, which seems high, but might be totally normal.
  6. Haven't taken notice. I will check and post here. 750 sounds about right
  7. Yep, AWD are thirsty compared to 2WD. My worst was 18. 12.9 is suburb and city fringe in Adelaide. On highway for say 3 hour drive I normally see high 9's

  9. BP 95 fuel gets me the best at around 12.9. Even BP 98 Ultimate does not give me that. Shell 95 is a close second with a similar number but is not consistent. Tried most others with dismal results.
  10. Hi All, Sudden noise the other night when driving home. Checked it out the next day and still persistent. From my googling efforts and reading forum posts, it seems like it is the infamous water pump. I am in Adelaide. Been quoted $1980 at one toyota stealership (typo) and $1468 by another for the replacement. The usual story is that it is engine drop and will take up to twelve hours. What are your experiences with this? Anyone had theirs done at a non Toyota Dealership? Please see video below that shows where the sound is coming from.. https://youtu.be/FNoV4xhn3fA
  11. I've encountered the knock at low speed and turns as described by many here on this thread. From my experience with the symptoms, it seems and feels like the tie rod ends. Any thoughts on this...?
  12. Have not bought this product as yet. I need to verify that the existing Grande hazard switch will fit into the unit. I really don't want to spend another $240 for the new hazard switch, http://goo.gl/YztRly The existing unit with its limited functions and WhereIS maps with no street names is driving me insane tho.
  13. Hi All, I have a 2007 Kluger Grande. As with many on here we know that the 2007 unit does not have allot of what we are familiar with in current day technology. I am looking for a 8" unit to fit the existing console with features like: A2DP Bluetooth music streamingUSB Music optionUse existing steering wheel controls (including phone controls)SD card maps with TTS spoken street names, speed warningsNeeds to fit the existing emergency switch arrangementNeeds to use the existing reverse camera (read something on here about 6V versus 12V)The issue I have is that there are too many versions out there with no proper branding or references. Most show fitment on Highlander versions too. I am after some references for places to purchase with a quality product. So far the best suited one I've found is http://bit.ly/1lsJZAJ Lets talk... Cheers
  14. The MY13 Upgrade refers to the Limited Edition Altitude version of the Kluger. Just got one on new years eve.
