  1. If I'm not wrong, it's not the wattage of the globes that will overload the factory wiring. It's the initial amp draw to fire up the ballast and ignite the HID bulb. The initial amp draw is much higher than the factory halogens.
  2. Here's a quick few for Cuong from the photos he sent me.
  3. Nice and clean car dude! I have much the same luck with washing my cars.. Every time I wash them it rains very soon after.. That carpark in the last two looks familiar.. which one is it?
  4. As per the instructions in the factory manual which I've sent around, to mount the relay, one simply: - Pulls the two side trim pieces off (they snap into place) - The top piece will now slide off. - Undo the screws that hold the headunit in place and slide it out. - You will see the plastic bracket which holds the relay panel in place below (behind the A/C dials). - To insert the relay, get a philips screw driver and undo the screw holding the bracket in place. - The bracket will now come off and you can install your relay with ease. - Reverse the steps to put it all back together and voila! :) Hope that helps! Kenneth
  5. It will light up both. The factory H7 plug from the headlight only serves as a switch now. Power is drawn from the battery directly. So it sort of works like this: switch lights on -> h7 plug says: "Lights on boys!" -> relay draws power from battery -> power goes to ballasts -> ballasts fire up HID. Good work on the DIY Chicken! I was going to do this.. but since you say it delays the low beams, I don't think that it'd be suitable for my car since it uses the same globe for both high and low beam functions.
  6. Something tells me it's going to be BLACK.. haha
  7. There's many approaches to modifying a car aesthetics-wise. There are those who stick with a touched up factory look, and those who go beyond that and go with custom fabrication etc. Alex's gone with a very clean factory look with his own personal touches. Yus' gone a different approach by customising the car's factory bits to create that personal touch. Both are very fine examples of white ZZE's.. love them both. The Corolla Sportivo kit IMO is one of the nicest kits to come out of Toyota's factory.
  8. Clean and steady list of mods, Dwee! Osram Diadem's FTW! Keep 'em coming! :)
  9. The Modellista lip looks great John, but I prefer your TTE lip over this one. It's more subtle and blends in with the car's lines. Heh, like you said with the TTE you can go LOWER! :P Anyways awesome ride as always! p.s. What happened to your rear numberplate frame? I noticed it was missing at the Villawood meet too..
  10. Wow, awesome job! I really like the "Levin SX" detail inside the headlight. The S15 Silvia have a similar theme on their headlights. The colour-coded bottom guard at the front really completes the front. A cheaper alternative to getting a front lip, well done! @KevO: The black headlight surround on a black ZRE might be too black.. black headlights on a lighter colour (i.e. this 1C0 silver) is where it really shines! :) Anyhow, welcome to the Work Emotion CR KAI owners club. ;)
  11. please dont remind me if that bird ***** LOL LOL, unlucky Cuong! HAHA
  12. The photos look great! I hope Charlie doesn't mind.. was bored and decided to touch up one of the photos. Cheers, Kenneth :P
  13. Spotted a white AE111 Levin parked at Eastwood Shopping Centre carpark (level 2).. looked like DreadAngel's car? It had TE-37s..
  14. But if you asked for a front skirt for an 05, they should not be in 2 pieces, as the 05 (more so the 06) model Levin's used the Sportivo front skirt. Exact same skirt.
  15. Spotted a black facelift 1ZZ with a debadged hatch, with plates BN44NA on Parramatta Road.. I'm think it's supposed to say 'banana' :P Also spotted a silver facelift 1ZZ dumped on black steelies on Harris St, Ultimo zooming past the ABC building.
  16. HAHA omg another set of emotions! Looks great Alex!
  17. Spotted a white 06-08 Yaris parked at Macquarie Centre this evening. It had a silver grille and I'm pretty sure it had a Netz badge on the front.. anyone here?
  18. They look like SSR type F's.. am I right? HAHA :P
  19. I remember seeing a "Sportivo" kit for the wagons in a brochure. It was a genuine accessory. I'm unsure if they still carry it though. I'm also unsure if it's the same as Corolla Sportivo ones..
  20. The new TRD Sportivo version looks good, as does the Modellista kit.. TRD Sportivo version: Modellista kit: Also digging the new black surround in their headlights! Very aggressive.
  21. we should have them in AUS late Nov i think late nov 2009? or 2010? I'll be happy with that new grille and lights :) Australia seems to get their facelift models in mid-late November or December. So since it's just out overseas, then it's most likely going to be this coming November or December.
  22. They will sit in the holder if you get the correct size for your car. No mods have to be done, like all HID kits on the market..
  23. Heh, Jeremy hit up a trader called LiquidSound on the OzHonda forums. Otherwise he's also known as Kaixen Xenon Australia on other forums like jdmstyletuning.com. Post some pics up if you get 'em! :)
  24. Heh, good choice Jeremy, you won't be disappointed. Does your projector take H7? Single beam Kaixen is $255 delivered - $235 for the kit and $20 for express post. You also get 24 months warranty. :D I can't really comment on other kits as I haven't used them myself, but I have a few mates who are using the Mars Performance HID kits which are cheaper at the $100+ mark and they are fine. I guess you pay for the quality and where it's made. The Kaixen are made in Korea, and my other car's MTEC kit was made in Japan; so they're a bit more pricey. Some of the cheaper kits are just fine, just have a look around and hit up some reviews if they're available.
