  1. I think I read that there are different ways of producing petrol with a 98 octane level. I can't remember too much, but I think the article I read stated BP produced a cleaner & better 98 octane fuel compared to others. It was to do with the addition of some chemical to boost the octane level in some of the 98RON fuels (not BP, hence why the article said it was better). EDIT - found it..
  2. Speaking of fuel, anyone who uses V-Power might be interested in the following offer: Voucher The above voucher allows you to fill up with V-Power for the price of normal 91 unleaded on Sunday 29 March 2009 (tomorrow).
  3. I love that first white one and the bright blue one.. hawwt!! If I remember correctly, the first white one has a black roof.. which makes it double hawwt! :P
  4. Spotted a black 05 Sportivo with HIDs tonight @ Strathfield. Male driver, was either picking up his brother or a mate from the exit of the open car park.. It was lowered, with std yellow plates.
  5. I take 5 shots @ 1ev intervals (-2 to +2). And thank you once again to everyone for their warming comments. :P My bank account is eating itself.. need.. a.. new.. job.. :(
  6. The mileage will go up abit more in your next few tanks of BP Ultimate. Try sticking with the same fuel for a few tanks. You should see an increase over the next few tanks. I think I read the cars engine adapts to running with the new fuel. I even tried switching between V-Power to BP Ultimate for one tank and the fuel economy dropped by almost 80km. So try stick to the same fuel over the next few tanks. =) @ Lunjiaow, do you know how much the stock steelies weigh in at?
  7. Looking schmick Andy. But isn't your passenger side eyelid sitting too high up? Keep it coming mate, top effort!
  8. I'm being charged 90/year for my white plates.. =( Hopefully the changes on April 8, means the end of annual fees and the beginning of once off fees..
  9. .. So I got bored and tired of doing my uni work today, and decided to go take a couple of quick snaps. Decided to try my hands at a slightly different style. =) - Kenneth *EDIT - Added one more..
  10. When you guys use Scratch X, what type of motion do you apply? Do you go in a circle motion, horizontally left/right, or vertically up/down..? I have some swirl marks that don't appear to be going away.. any suggestions with using Scratch X? :(
  11. Oh ok, thanks for that SuperDave. :)
  12. The higher octane fuels typically -at least from the major brands- contain detergents to keep the engine clean. 5w30 will only be 'lighter' than the 10w30 while the oil is cold. The first value is related to the cold viscosity, while the second number is related to the hot viscosity. Oh ok awesome. Are there any benefits of using a full-synthetic as opposed to a semi-synthetic?
  13. That's true, but doesn't higher octane fuels result in a cleaner engine in the long run? SD, just to confirm - is 5w30 lighter then 10w30..?
  14. Heh, exhaust is in the distant future.. But no 17's for this little toy. 16's FTW. =) It's Osram Diadem PY21W.
  15. Ooo.. what's the secret? spill... :P
  16. ^ Why does the above spotting description resemble Armstrong's car (two posts above).. Armstrong, That's not you in the accident is it? =\
  17. The front end reminds me of Aston Martins... especially the grille area.
  18. Are you referring to the bulbs? Nah I couldn't find any supplier within Australia stocking these.. Yep, it does flash orange. So they're legal. It's just like having your stock indicators, minus the orange appearance whilst they're off. I've found that these flash brighter then the chrome coated ones (those emit a dark duller orange)
  19. I still have the Diadems in there. I wanted to get rid of the orange yolk appearance of the standard indicator bulbs. I chose to go with these over the chrome coated indicator bulbs, as I thought the blue hue blends in with the cars colour. When looking at them they're not exactly "clear", it gives off a blue/purple/green hue depending on the angle. Anyways, I purchased them from Powerbulbs.com in the UK. They were just short of $30 AUD shipped. In terms of handling, I was looking into a rear sway bar from either Ultra Racing or Whiteline (Selby).. :)
  20. Haha, thanks for the comments fellas. Rims will come.. when my factory tires wear out.. That way these stock tires aren't gone to waste. Not sure where to go with my next mod - the looks department or the handling department..
  21. I have about 5000kms on the car now, and mileage is still improving. Though I have been feeding the car Shell V-Power from day 1. :P I got a bit of a bump after my oil change @ 1000km. At my next oil change (10000km), I'm going to switch to a full-synthetic oil. I read it will also give a slight increase in fuel economy. So maybe give the car a few tanks of premium to run, as it takes a few tanks for the car to adapt to the fuel type. See how that goes..
  22. 1C0. If that's the case, then the guys obviously painted it to the wrong paint code..
  23. Does the Yaris Rush come with a 1.3L engine? I have a YRS (1.5L) and I can get about 550km+ at the last bar.. My fuel economy is getting better with every tank too.. Did you buy it new? If so, I believe the engine has a break-in period. Your fuel economy should improve over that period.
  24. I thought Toyota service departments have a system where they can look up your exact car by entering in your VIN. Then they can click around the diagram of the car on screen and get to the sideskirt part.. There is definitely a different part number of the 05 Sportivo skirt. Maybe someone else on here is able to help with that..
