  1. The TEN News this morning reported on a 'modified Toyotal Corolla' which slammed into a video store with an alledged drunk 19 year old at the wheel... THe images on the news were that of a black vehicle and you could just make out the number plate as ***-HLF Qld Police Media Site: Car into a shop, Goodna: A 19-year-old Redbank Plains man will appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on July 7 on one count of drink driving following an incident at Goodna last night. It is alleged around 10.15pm the man drove his vehicle through the front glass windows of a video store on Smith Street. He was not injured, however is alleged to have recorded a blood-alcohol reading of 0.168%.
  2. I doubt it cause they have different ECU's
  3. From memory around $110 for the set....
  4. Nice pic.... anyone that saw this car will appreciate the effort that Zoran put into it...
  5. How corrosive to the neck of your fuel tank is it? If it was seriously that bad that you had to wash it down with fuel, then I'd be cautious that is wasn't actually EATING my injectors rather than cleaning them..... I don't know too much about fuel tanks, but I'd say the neck of them is pretty tolerant....
  6. Its not swimming, the thing is being towed across, the cable is sticking out nuts on a dog....
  7. Funny Bren, when I saw you and Jen on Monday night, I could have sworn you were the President of this club....
  8. Well, here's from me... Firstly, thanks to SB for putting in such a great effort to get this thing going. I know Northy and I both are able to take a little cred for what we did to help, but you drove it bro....and big thanks to Mrs SB for putting up with your sh!t while you were organising it...(Tell Jen she know's I always stick up for her.... :P ) So keeping on that line, thanks to Northy for the help he put in too....I know it was a f****ked week for you at work, but you still made it out. Melbournian & Sydneysiders that made it up wither by flight, car, hitchhiking or teleporting.....thanks. There is only one reason for these big events, and that is for people to come up. I accept that there were some people that wanted to come, but really couldn't for a variety of reasons, but there is a very long list of slackers that just couldn't be bothered. Remember, this is a NATIONAL group, meaning people from all over the country are invited. So here are a few of my singled out thanks... - Pete & Tats, thanks for coming and the lift down the coast... - Mario, thanks for having a nice looking Sportivo... - Zoran, thanks for making the effort with the Celica, your enthusasm was noted and welcomed and thanks for fixing my bike... - Bill, thanks for coming.....you big cuddly Lebo you... - Mish & Mark, thanks for making the effort with the tribe and thanks for the BBQ on Sunday Night...and the swim.....damn that was cold, then hot, then cold, then hot, then cold (IT WAS SHRINKAGE)... I had a blast helping get this thing ready, and being there. Hooters was awesome, just sitting around with a few beers, food and some really good laughs...but overall, it was just a good weekend.... Thanks to the Celica and Camry boys for turning up when they did.... Azza

  12. "Hello pot.....this is kettle....." It's not spamming when you are reminding people about a particular event for the people on this forum, and nor is it spamming when you are updating information about an event for the people of the forum..... SB has gon well and truely over the call of duty in relation to actioning things for this event, and in my own personal opinion has done a fantastic job and am proud to be a fellow TOCAU member with people like him organising events like this. As far as posting the details in each area, well the results speak for them selves, because not all forum members read each area and may not have been previously aware of the event. What was it SB, and extra 8, 10 cars because of the multiple postings???? Being a moderator, and having the support of the other moderators, as well as the forum admin, because he is doing something positive for the promotion of the forum, he is more than entitled to do what he has done....

    Binge Drinking

Peer Pressure is a soft excuse for people being too weak to say no.... If a group of your 'peers' force you to do something, ie hold you down, threaten you, restrain you etc etc until you do something, then this can fall within the realm of 'peer pressure', however it also becomes an illegal activity. 'Illegal Detention', 'Unlawful Use Of Force, 'Abuse' etc etc etc..... Everybody has the right, the will, the desire and the ability to make their own decisions in life. People start activities like drinking, smoking, drugs, sex, criminal activities etc etc etc then blame 'Peer Pressure' and use it as some type of lame a$$ excuse to help justify why they made a potentially wrong, immoral, illegal or just plain bad decision. Background: I grew up in some pretty horrible, violent, detestable, dirty and often abusive group homes, foster homes and placements. Everything from hard drugs, alcohol, sex and serious crimes like assault, burglery, robbery and often sexual assaults were around me from around age 8 or 9 onwards. I had more than enough opportunity to be involved with these activities, but every step of the way I made the decision to say no to them. I chose NOT to take drugs... I chose NOT to drink... I chose NOT to commit offences... I chose NOT to assault people... I chose NOT to break into house.... The 3 key words in my phrases are "I CHOSE NOT..." and this is a decision that EVERY person has the right AND the responsibility to make. Not fall gullible to these events and actions then try and sugercoat is as 'Peer Pressure'... And for the record, I was not the exception to the crowd either, I have many friends as well as family that were in the same situations with me and made the right decisions. Just think about the crap your going to do before you do it, make the decision YOU want to make, and if the people around you are giving you a hard time for making your decision, then these people are not your friends, they are not people you need in your life. Think back to school when someone offered you your first drag on a cigarette.....if you said no, what would those people have said? What realistically do you think they would have done? Do you honestly think that they would have held you down and not let you go until you sucked on that durry....??? I doubt it very very much.... Sorry, I have seen too many people in my life have the ability of saying no, but were too soft to do so, then gloss it over as 'Peer Pressure'..... End Rant!!!!
  16. why am I not surprised you know all these things :D 6 more sleeps till i'm in QLD Big Pete - The eater of all foods, you know I know EVERYTHING and those few things that I don't know, get caught on camera and end up on You Tube or Facebook.... ROFL
  17. Mish/Mark - I hadn't seen that video.....kinda made me wet my pants..... Mopp - We have more than one Hooters in Queensland, but the one we are going to is Hooters Restaurant at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast. The other Hooters is a strip joint in Brisbane. (COme to think about it, I don't believe it's still open....) 11Two - THe big rolls of Dunny Paper were for some messy-a$$ food someone had been eating, possible the fifteen trays of Buffalo Wings Big Pete had demolished........was just paper towel.... Not long to go now peeps....
  18. Hopefully in the next few days, we will have a nice colour handout for everyone with directions for the Sunday cruise with maps and stuff...... Remember, if any out-of-towners are staying somewhere other then F1, please let me know so I can help you out with directions and stuff....
  19. Quick update guys..... Firstly, Hooters is secured and booked for 7:30pm on the Saturday night.... Secondly, I have arranged for drinks to be sold at both the Show N Shine on Saturday afternoon, then also the Cruise on Sunday (depending how long supplies last). There will be Mt Franklin, Coke, Sprite & Fanta.... Damn I am looking forward to this..... Azz
  20. Mate, 2 things, firstly, who cares if it is stock? It's a Toyota isn't it? This is a National TOYOTA meet isn't it? Any Toyota will do......my Rav ain't exactly a showcar... Secondly, turn up when you can. There is no requirement to turn up to every even/trip that is planned. We just want as many people at them with their Toyota's as we can, so if you can only do Friday & Saturday nights, then come to those....
  21. If anyone Interstaters are staying at locations other than F1, please PM me. As both Silvabullit and myself are only 5 minutes apart at our houses, one of us can do the F1 rendevous and the other can round up you guys staying elsewhere.... Being a soldier, I know Enoggera Army Barracks well, and on a decent run, is only 20 mins from F1 and more like 1 hour to Hooters than 2
  22. Sads my friend.... found out the other day that you know a lady I kinda work with, Carolyn (Her brother in law is the Fensport Legend.....she said she knows you through Xanthe...) WHat a small world....
  23. But build quality is NOT the reason for the ride height difference. Please remember that the South African's only built the Sportivo, the parts were still designed and manufactured in Japan. The South African's were only the assemblers.... Points to note... Sportivo standard ride height is 10-15mm HIGHER than 1ZZ models. Sportivo 'Option' springs were designed to bring the SPortivo the a ride height similar to that of the 1ZZ models (no drop rate was ever advertised with them) Sportivo standard setup is a stiffer combo that the 1ZZ standard setup Stock Sportivo shocks work well with a 30mm drop Greater than 30mm drop will require new shocks or you will blow the a$$ out of them Most insurance companies will not insure Corollas (any ZZE12x) with a drop of greater than 30mm as this will reduce your ride height to less than the legal 100mm for most states, so shop around
  24. You won't need to find one, when you see Northy's pics. His mobile phone takes some wicked shots..... go-on Mr North, post some teasers for the newer folk.... :P
  25. I live in Queensland, there is only one beer to drink... XXXX But I don't mind either Toohey's Extra Dry's or Kirin
