  1. hey guys, i know its a N00B question but i just wanna make sure. would it be ok if i ran an oil filter to only 10,000kms? its a k&n oil filter filtering synthetic oil. my common sense would be well, if i ran mineral oils with ryco/cooper oil filters for 10,000kms, the k&n will do just fine but double checking.
  2. u know what i need? im sooooo lazy, i need a liquid claybar formula that rids bonded contaminates without the fussy of claying - turtlewax ice is not a considered a solution! hehe. im finding everytime i wax, around 1mth later i will be wanting to wax again, and i'll find decent amount of that sandy feeling on the bonnet. sucks when one doesnt have a garage, and that i travel on a freeway which is constantly having roadworks.
  3. LOL tell me about it. i was @ the servo car wash the other day, and saw people washing their cars buy just spraying water, then pulling it out in the sun shine and using chamois to wipe a DIRTY DIRTY CAR! it was a black car too....sigh. i would kill for a black camry, itd look weird, but man, its sooo difficult to work with a single stage white, without a garage and without low voltage swirl-see/xenon lights. on that note, i would imagine swissvax would be a better product seeing they are targeted for different consumer retail markets, and not to mention the cost! meguiars best professional wax is most likely a mix between high tech yellow wax and a mix between #21 synthetic sealant and polymer sealant. on consumer level, its just techwax2.0 or gold class. 1 bottle of swissvax wax would cost the total of all of them meguiars above, and anywho, if i had a 200K+ car, i would using something else other than meguiars, would you?

    Tuners

yea i found that out the hard way LOL. because its the earth plug, everytime i get out of the car, i try not to touch the metal on the door areas LOL. try is the word. i would get a static shock, and sometimes its really, really bad, others its barely noticable. nothing i can do about it seeing my sony headunit only has space for 2 plugs and not 3, unless i customly attach the ground wire to one of them....which im lazy to do.
  5. errrr arent u like....annoyed at all? i would be sooo angry, and storm and to ask wtf is going on them dodgy.....#@$#%$
  6. awesome write up there dave, just want to let people know though regarding the shine of carnauba wax vs synthetic wax. i think thats a bit of a personal debate as to which gives out a better shine. ive noted its a 50/50 game of which wax has more clarity to shine, so there should be no overall universal assessment of which is has the greater depth and clarity of shine. It should be kept as an opinion than a fact sheet. i have seen and used/use synthetics which maintain a deeper gloss than its' natural counterpart, but then again, its what my eyes tell me, and its what my opinion is based upon. Others will differ or concur with me. the best part is for the consumer, and you guys, to compare with your own eyes via a half bonnet comparison. 1 half a synthetic, and the other half a carnauba and your eyes will tell you. however, products will vary with shine, hence there is no universal assessment. and damn, wots with the guy doing his teggie? that job looks horrific, or its not wax lol.
  7. helloo ha! hey just wondering guys, does anyone know, aside from the hard to find rare accessory sportivo muffler, any other mufflers that are...good? (good meaning, not loud but not stock sounding either, and can only be heard if u push it @ high revs - just like the sportivo muffler.) i hate the look of them fat a$$ cannonball mufflers, and they sound too damn loud for anyone to like it, esp on a camry, and a camry on the freeway - it can be deafening. prolli asking for too much here.

but! where did u find your gtp grill? wreakers? i would have thought the chances of me finding a gtp camry in the wreakers would be sooooo rare. even if there was one, someone would have pinched the body in an instant i reckon lol.
  9. But it's all about the price tag isn't it? Talking with the neighbors after I got my Corolla I showed them through it and explained some of the features. When I was asked about the price the response was that's a lot for a small car a couple of k more and you could have a Falcon/Commodore. When people shop for a car how many look at reliability vs. ticket price? My primary reason for buying the Corolla over something from Korea was reliability (the fact I wouldn't be seen dead purchasing a new Korean was another factor but not the driving one) Would people pay 5k more for a car that was more reliable? the answer unfortunately is no. Most people look at what they get on paper (feautures, size, performance) and not the aftersales side of things (reliability servicing costs). u made a good point there jps137. however, that point is only valid in countries such as US and Australia -> im not being...culturally discriminate here but thats the facts. would a tradition aussie outback family want to be seen in their towns/small cities in a 1.8L Corrolla, SMALL CAR? or do they want to be seen in a V6/V8/V10/V12 monster?! Its all about the shallowness of size, and the attitude of who's got the bigger...mmm. hehe. However. everyone else in OTHER countries seem to be normal and smart about their purchasing options. drive sedans that are anything bigger than a V6 in other countries and they'll think your a retard, except of course if the car is a legitimate sports coupe worth more than $200,000, or has something to do with going faster than the speed of light.

cheers for that. oka code it will be you know what NOT TO DO! spend 1.5hours masking up a freakin toyota sign on the grill. ZOMG. but i guess its worth it, lol
  13. its their fault for not taking on the economical product approach sooner rather than later. they still make cars fit for the 70's and 80's. they still make cars that are unreliable they still maintain the same culture rather than having a look at how the japs do it - the it'll be right attitude costs them in terms of reliably, durability and thus, sales, and customer loyalty. this needs to happen to crush their egos, wake up and smell roses, but i think they'll be right (the irony LOL) look how mitsubishi turned out. everyone said they would go under and their name would be inexistant by 2007. they are strong, not super, but enough to keep the brand alive and sales have crept back after their lowdown with their trucks. after this, i hope gm make reliable and economical cars, i hope they can get it in2 their thick skulls.
  14. hi guys just heads up again autobarn vic are selling normal shell 4L helix 20w-50 mineral oil for $10, and not the usual price of $25. thats a bargain for anything really, a normal car, lawnmower or anything!

lol maybe i'll get a coloured dark blue gril from the wreakers lol that ought to look real funny with a white paint job! haha btw relish, you know where to get our colour code? (code 061). supercheap and repco didnt have that white colour code, they just had the pre 2000 toyota white colours. i want to paint my door trim white.
  16. yea after reading more last night, leaning more towards a nay. after one of the guys on the aussie landrover site picked out a good point. we are buying $200 filtermags for the prolonging of your engine. however, if your engine lasts 300,000km as it should, wot exactly are you prolonging? i had 3 camrys and numerous japanese cars in my direct lifetime that have reached beyond 300K, with standard oil and filters such as cooper and ryco, hey they turned out smackingly good....soo....? chances r some dodgy powersteering pump or engine leakage will occur prior to any engine "breakdown"

    grille

lol u know wot, im just going to unhook it and paint it white. currently grey like all the other camrys so i thought mmm...same colour as the rest of the body. the amount of time i spend detailing my car is enough, lol, i think im just lazy when it comes to modding anything haha, esp when its a camry = S unless someone does it for me! haha thanks though, i'll see exactly how easy it is for me to unhook the thing. cheers!
  18. hey guys, just wondering, i posted it on the general section of tocau, but does anyone here have any feedback on using filtermag? the problem is, you can purchase some "earth magnets" from jaycar at around $20. these guys cost $100+ cheers! food for thought. on another note, im trying my bloody best to cut up a new ryco oil filter to examine whats on the inside. its hard work, but i'll post the results and compare them to the likes of k&n, mobil 1 and purolator oil filters avaliable here (only k&n) and in the states, as well as the comparision between the beloved toyota oil filters! cheers again
  19. hi guys, though it makes sense, does anyone here use them for your car? i mean, i know theres magnetic oil filters now, autobarn are selling blitz oil filters with magnets in them, but this "filtermag" is a one off purchase, but its around $100....ffs ive done some serious, the aussie landrover guys seem to be discussing it alot... anyone use them and swears buy them? cuz i want the best for my car, though just a camry, but im sure we all do - want the best for our cars that is. cheers
  20. as said in other thread, supercheap are cheaper, going for $29.99 for 5w-30.
  21. dude lol just letting you know super cheap have them for $29.99 (5w-30) so dont buy them from repco. some sale those guys r having, super cheap are having them for a ful $9 cheaper! thats ALOT if your gonna stock up! and yea, i stocked up on 5w-30 for my camry, under 100,000kms so thoughy why not. alot of users use 5w-30 for camrys under 100k cheers!

  24. omfg why is it that everyone but australia has unique cars. i mean, a 2door camry coupe FAR OUT. if that was in australia i think everyone would be looking at it LOL. that ride is definitely a cool one
