  1. Yes, scratch x 2.0. that will be out in aust around june. so for the moment, no, all other companies in the australian market are either lemons are just too abbrasive (like kitten - dont use it unless you know exactly what your doing - eventhough the price is appealing) there is something more effective than your hand though, and that is a meguiar's G220 dual action polisher. if you pay someone to do it it will cost you a G220 and then some. so its up to you on how much you love your car.
  2. yes it works g8, however on a bonnet 50/50 comparison meguiar's nxt tech 2.0 wax came out stronger in terms of darker, glossy-er and shiny-er. no joke. on another bonnet there was another bonnet 50/50 comparison between p21s and meguiar's yellow tech wax, and meguiar's again came out roughly 2shades better. this is reliable & dependant upon your eyes and your detailing technique, though both we given no biased treatment. nxt tech 2.0 is a synthetic wax and yet it still managed better results than a product twice the price. just what i found with my experience.
  3. oh gosh that was soo worth my time actually he did it quite well, very surprised. if one was not really a freak and sat in a hyped up car, they would think that was the engine. hahahahaahahahahahaah wonder how many hours it took him to perfect that sound llolololo
  4. rofl, nice one, well said. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...showtopic=17880 though, market for oil filters have changed some what. due to the shocking exchange rate of the AUD, damn you AUD, oil filters out of USA have gone up by 20%-30%. $34 for an oil filter out of the states has got to suck, even though their top quality, maybe genuine toyota's will do just for now...
  5. Nothing strange about having a corporate face/style, look at Audi/Mercedes/BMW/VW etc, stylistically there are a lot of similarities between models, even between the smallest and the largest. It's all about brand recognition. You see a shape on the road, and instantly you know "that's a Merc", or "that's an Audi", even before you can read the badge on the boot lid. Lexus has this with the L-Finesse design language which is present on their current range. For an extreme example, look at Aston Martin. A V8 Vantage from afar looks almost identical to a DB9 and a Vanquish, especially if you don't know how to spot the minor style differences. Up close the size factor is more obvious, but still the overall design is very similar. yea you got a good point their. however, when you compare it with the bmmers and the mercs, their styles are somewhat similar to the rest of the fleet, however still unique in each class, and more importantly, still very very good looking. i dunno, eg, the new 1series compared to the 5, look similar with the grills but 1series looks much more suiting to its class - its elegance and sporty looks. whereas the 5series maintains that 5series look. each model as its distinctions. if you compare that to lexus and toyota, 4 models are pretty much look exactly the same. the IS, RX, SC, and maybe the LS are the only ones which stand out with a wow factor. currently the future cars of lexus are about to arrive in australia. the new HS250H is the new corolla sedan! but with all the new and awesome changes that make it a lexus.
  6. though its 70 litres, the usable amount is around 60 to 65, which means 5 to 10 litres in the reserve, which means when the red light appears, you know you can go up to another 50 to 100kms, but dont try your luck. i find that ppl who know this tend to ignore it and they burn out their reserve without knowing, prompting me to go out and rescue them..... <_<
  7. Ozzy tyres then...
  8. well good news, meguiar's have had their new micro abrasive technology out for a while now, but in terms of of consumer level, its definitely the best swirl remover. their new technology is out with Scratch X 2.0 that will be the bomb when it comes out. if you think scratch x was great, wait till you use 2.0. its even more effortless while ensuring it will never EVER place ANYMORE scratches and swirl than the current condition of the surface.
  9. well guys, if you ask me, the lexus es350, gs350, all look the same as the camry AND the aurion i understand that they are completely different cars, under the bonnet and chassis, but they are all styled the same to save costs, and dependent on their successes from sales, they would add new styles to the model via facelifts, add new curves and parts to make them "seem" different in terms of styling. i guess from a profiteering point of view, its a smart strategy as they know their consumers want good, reliable, classy (mmm only in lexus...), reasonably easy maintainable cars, so they give them similar shells and improve on what matters most - the inside, the heart and sole of a car. i still see the es300's around and wow they're replicas of the gen5 camrys.

thanks for the info redracer, and your first and informative post as well! welcome to the forum. i think redracer was referring to a good and proper job, thus looking at doing it properly rather than just looking at using a knife and slitting the areas that need repair. its pretty funny how a gen3 camry still has alot of problems with durability. my mum gen3 camry has the same problem, and usually camrys with paint and interior problems are ones that are parked outside in the sun for 100% of the times. speaking of which, my back speaker holdings have melted cuz its so hot, and im only in metro vic. talk about bad design!
  11. i know. why dont u go 2 a track with official timing and get your friends to record it. i mean, if this camry does in fact get 6.1secs, it would, as you say, beat HEAPS OF CARS right? all them v8's and other super uber turbo/na cars gone! so, not only will u beat opposition car, but it would attain 5.5secs on the official timing, all for us to see!
  12. i dont believe you, what hill were u traveling down on? i do 0-15cm in 2hours with her in my window hehe hot hot hot hot
  13. thats about right m8. camry's are just so bloody heavy, those of you who have 2.2L gen4.5 4cylinders just absolutely SUCK. an echo/yaris, mazda 323, or even a 1.5L toyota starlet would be able to go faster than a bloody camry, from 0-80km/h. turn on the airconditioning and the 98kw on paper, 95kw @ the wheels will degrade to 87-90kw @ the wheels. so i find it hard to believe a normal v6 with 2 parts catback changes goes faster than...many audi S-series.
  14. well we have a sponsored tradie for reasons like this one! Dave is your man in your area, i think he's in sydney. he would be able to do a fantastic job for you. reflecteffect.com.au after the job however, just make sure you dont reswirl your car.
  15. Whenever you can baby. As Davie boy said, before (providing its just light dust, not mud) or after a wash. Meguiar's mirror glaze final inspection is uber, however the formula has been around as long as the Meguiar's classic range of Quik Detailer (the bottle that comes with a Clay Kit) if you want something more up to date, with superior water beading and high gloss results, go and get yourself some uber uber Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detail! when u apply this quik detailing solution, do it with love and passion, and go over it twice. leave it for a 24hr cure time and your car will be sooo glossy and bead water like freshly applied wax, and then some. heres a vid of how u can achieve such awesomeness http://video.aol.com/video-detail/the-toni...iler/2938217034
  16. er? i didnt know the new corollas were 5 studded!
  17. yea, ive got something similar going too, no power difference but do u experience now your engine is louder when planting that right foot? i swore mine didnt used to scream and whine
  18. anyone here can validate this? not saying its not true, just dont normally see a gen4 v6 dashboard go so quickly.
  19. i just dont get why shops just jib people and think they can get away with such jibness. so u sell someone 4 tyres for $170, made in china (or where ever), got a shizzle load of margin on them and ripped them off. who in right minds would think that that same people would come back for more?! so annoying its just frustratingly annoying! bobjane is another place where they like to sell wheel alignment like its absolutely essential after every single tyre change and "service checkup". My wheel alignment has been perfect and after changing tyres at other tyre retailers without wheel alignment time and time again, they had perfect thread wear and lasted me 60-70,000kms, whereas Mr. retardo bobjane stores sell it like extended warranties. <_< <_< <_< <_< <_< <_< <_< <_< <_<
  20. lol, are you by any chance on the MOL forums? wots #61? supercheap had the meg's brushes range on uber specials, a wheel face brush was $12off retail. they may be discontinued soon in aust so grab them as collectables! give #21 2.0 a go when u have time, heard it was the 'in' sealant atm. btw, what clay do u use? atm megs have released their replacement clay package yet, so mmmmmmm
  21. thats the thing with additives in my opinion, i dont know for sure if they work, and alot of these things are like a placebo effect, or it may actually be factual. similar to other additives like Nulon E10/20/30 engine treatments, people say their rolling resistance decreases after 1 treatment, but that could easily be the air temperature of the tyres at optimal, or they are rolling down a hill where the road is super fine. i was told (on tocau anyway) that the best way to clean your injectors would be to bring it to service and actually get someone to clean it physically. i tried a bottle of injector cleaner with vpower and felt, well, nothing. maybe its the constant use of vpower, or...
  22. yup, must be the same one i saw years ago when they published that e10 gave a car less kilojoules (i dont know what measurement they used) of energy than normal unleaded, even with the "power boost to 93ron.
  23. wot...on...earth.... nice find but where did u come across something like this?! how would be the more appropriate question! lol
  24. ? did that have anything to do with cleaning the engine bay? try the search tool in this forum....u'd be surprised at how many times its been covered. welcome to the forum ;)
