  1. I was unaware of the gate not functioning properly so it was purely just bad luck and an accident that I got hit with it. If I knew of the electric gate not working I wouldnt have even moved the car nor attempt to get it out!
  2. Thanks for your feedback guys. I feel alot more at ease thanks to your replies and comments. I wasnt so sure on how panel beaters actually match the factory colour as I was starting to get a little worried since the Sportivo is more of a metallic black colour rather than a full flat jet black colour. He didnt reassure me of the colour match so thats probarbly why im a little up tight about it all. Ive been told I need a new door rear door skin and the side skirt can be fixed up also. I was under the impression the colour code was on the inside on the passenger door? So how does anyone know how beaters actually match the colour? So they have the colour code then what? Does it go thru a paint database or manufactors database eg Toyota? Im very curious on this! :) As for the electric gate sensor, the reason why it didnt stop was because of a recent black out which reset the gate to manual mode rather than auto mode so this is why it didnt detect the car from going across the driveway. Appreciate all your concerns btw and if there is anyone who is in the same scenario as me regarding black ink 209 colour matching on smash repairs, please let me know ur thoughts and experience! More of owner's comments will definately puy my mind at ease and at peace! B)
  3. Morning guys, I had an unfortunate mishap yesterday as an electric gate decided to close on me whilst driving across a driveway. The gate started to close and I had no option but to accelerate to try and avoid any kind of collision. So the gate knifed itself into the left hand side back door actually cutting the metal. The back door cant be opened from the outside but once opened you can see the metal has creased on the inside as well. The moulding on the door is also bent. The side skirt also got scrapped. Im not so sure if I need a whole new back door if it can be replaced with a new door skin. I would prefer to get a new side skirt as I dont want to see a difference of side skirts from the left hand side to the ride hand side. What do you guys think? Im all new to this as far as smash repairs are concerned with my Sportivo. Im also a little paranoid of the colour matching. I know of a good panel beater so im sure they can match the black mica colour. Is it 109 or 209? Does anyone know how panel beaters match the colour? Do they get colour codes from Toyota? Thanks for reading guys and I do apologise if I come across a little harsh. Lots of mixed emotions at the moment as im more or less just annoyed that my little baby has been injured as not part of my intentional fault. These things can be fixed (thank goodness for insurance) but I just hate seeing my car with an imperfection :( Cheers all
  4. Hey Dylan, When do you apply the scratch x? I didnt think that product could be used to cover the entire car?
  5. Looks like you guys had an awesome day. Shame I missed out but I will be there next time. Quick question for the guy who did up that awesome video clip.....what is the name of that song ?
  6. Hi Guys, With my recent 10K service I had my wheels rotated and re-balanced. By doing this the weights have been adjusted and moved so now I am left with this ugly chunky white double sided tape. Can anyone recommend the best method and procedure for me to remove this. Im guessing something like turps will remove it yet the last thing I want to do is damage my rims or scratch them in trying to take off this damn double sided tape! Appreciate your help guys :) Cheers
  7. Hi Guys, Just thought if anyone could recommend any hi grade wheel cleaner suitable for our Sportivo stock wheels. I know that there surely has to be a more suitable and easier way to clean the rims to help remove the build up of dirt, grime and of course brake dust. I usually clean my wheels with a small spounge and mild soap but i not only do the outer side of the rim, I also do the inner part to make them look gleaming clean. :P So instead of spounging and scrubbing there has to be an effective product! I almost bought Meguiars "Hot Wheels" as it says it is safe of all alloy wheels including factory clear coats yet I wasnt 100% sure whether or not to buy it as I havent heard any reviews on it. Apart from Meguiars I have only seen a Mothers product but it wasnt a dedicated alloy wheel cleaner. Has anyone used this or can they recommend a product that does the job A1? Cheers :D
  8. Hey Guys, Just wanted to get an idea on what the recommended and preferred tyre pressure is for the Sportivo stock wheels Cheers :D
  9. Hi Guys, After finishing detailing my car with a friend he happend to observe whilst driving behind me that when I first took off and as I hit lift he said that he noticed a small puff of smoke come out of the exhaust as the high revs and lift kicked in. Is this a normal thing to happen? I wasnt so sure if it was perhaps a burn off of fuel or because the car was stationery for a while or quite simply because I havent used lift in a while. Any feedback would be great! :)
  10. Sorry to hear about the bad luck with your scratch Bit Racer. It makes you feel like ******* and puts you in a depressing mood especially when you know for yourself that you are so careful with your car and look after it. Good thing is though that you can get it repaired professionally and that you are insured. Its now the inconveinence in taking the car to get resprayed and putting you out. Let us know how it all goes :)

  15. Sounds pretty nasty...sorry to say but I think your mate was really pushing your Stivo to the limit. But then again it could of been a case of some bad wiring or something to trigger the engine to overheat. Im sure there was oil and coolant in the engine before the drive yeah? :P
  16. What kind of polish did you guys use to remove these kind of marks? Im guessing an interior polish ?
