  4. PC XT

    Handbrake

Ours has never been great and never been adjusted you just squash it to the floor like a and orange is under your foot and road, it works! Must remember to get the to adjust the foot brake next service! B)
  5. I already have Nokia 73 and GPS/logger, Downloaded the software installed will test in the forester tomorrow on the way to work!! :D Thanks
  6. My Grande AWD full with gear and family of 6 all up averaged 10.6 in the country last long weekend. You could get it down to 8._ if you drive like a granny...not me
  7. EXCELLENT POST CROTOY, I'm sure many will follow suit if only Toyota had done it from the factory
  8. PC XT

    Sat Nav

Yep get a cheap second hand GPS with the feature....Other wise NO! :(
  9. The only reasonable thing you can do there is lock it into 2nd and or FIRST gear on the really tight steep descents and hairpin curves of the Clyde! I don't see any issues as the engine is 10.8:1 compression and the engine braking is excellent once in suitable gear from my drive in mountains the other day I concur with these statements from RR find a hill and play if you haven't already.
  10. My Austrian Aunt told me that when she saw it in our drive way for the first time last year, she said "KLOOGER" it means CLEVER, I replied "thats me!" :D :o
  11. Congrats, Nice work mate I'm glad your happy you made the right choice with out any biased opinions ........I still drive an XT :D . Yep I agree a six speed would have been nice but we say that in forester world too, also the Volume control is on the wrong side when compared to the XT as well. Apart from that hows that engine sound on full tilt? :D Nice!! So rear sway bar mod first...group buy ;) And hello and Welcome to the Old Guy!! :)
  12. Nice work guys good to see the lighting brigade out in full force!
  13. You will love it! I listened to my engine today with my "doctor type" automotive stethoscope :D and its just a gem of a donk :D I have to admit the donk is a sheep in wolfs clothing (Very Refined down low up top its not the sound of a family suv) all it needs is a turbo to wake it some more, hey Andrew?
  14. Andrew I have only towed the box trailer into Turon gates near Capertee, 4WD territory only, no problem with it at all and the down hill decent was great as none of the other cars I went with had it for the step wet decent to the river. ;) Nice Colour too Mr Fish475
  15. Welcome to the new car club Andrew, we need to see photos before and after the mods mate! This is scary you were the first guy on Gtrydaz to reply to me small world indeed Watch the post master roar!
  16. I think you may be wrong, check both photos carefully the new super duper Philip's Halogens do what HID's do as-well, check out the top panels of the garage door and above the house with the stockies you will see what I mean. Yeah, I was thinking the exact same thing. But I was thinking it may have been the extra light reflecting off the driveway rather than directly from the headlights?. Anyway I bought a pair as well and have installed them and they are noticeably brighter than the stockies especially up close to the car. It fills that void up that you normally have to turn the bottom driving lights on to fill. However I wouldn't say I was astonished with the improvement. I think they provide good low beam coverage but I'm still not impressed with high beam performance, spotties are still a must for dark highways. Yep I agree and your mod is fully legal too, the head lights are very average in stock form thats why I did my mod and also installed HID spot lights so I'm fully covered for any situation at night. For those who don't want to use the spot lights or don't have a nudge bar etc could also mod the lower near useless fog lights to HID which I did on my Subaru with great results with 6 HID's in total it looks totally stock until you hit the High Beam

  18. I had HID's on ours last year, you've got to know what you are doing, luckily they came out of my old Berlina so they were a direct h4 swap. I would not recommend the change for a novice as there are many things you have to take into consideration before and when performing the conversion to HID. Good luck with your final decision my first picture will show you the difference between the standard Halogens ® and HID's (L) on a new shape Kluger The final Pic shows the HID's all in with the little spot/flood lights
  19. It is a drive by wire throttle. After everything I've read about the Kluger traction/stability control and what I've seen with the cruise control, I'm starting to think that Toyota's solution to criticism that their previous sowftware was too obtrusive was to just introduce a delay to when it operates. Traction control in a front driver is always going to be a hit and miss situation. As you accelerate in it, the weight is transfered to the rear and therefore it is easier to get wheelspin. When towing, the front will always lift a little, therefore even less weight through the driving wheels. The same system in a commodore works far better. I have a barine SRI(FWD) and the same thing happens, if i push it hard, it will start protesting lots! Remember, the kluger has over 200 killer wasps going through the wheels. I will be going for the AWD. So is it worth the $4500 and go for the AWD?I was told if you not really using the car for off road its not worth spending the extra $4500 for AWD.I've ordered a FWD grande(arriving July) , thinking of changing to AWD.What do you all think.? AWD OR NO WD for me both my cars are!
  20. Thats some scary stuff I think they put the Turbo Territory motor in the CX-9 with those figures! The first couple of tanks in your new car/Kluger will always be very high as you will be always stopped with the motor going working out all those zany gadgets and talking to your friend trying to get away in your new machine, sounds like we can do that every tank compared to our Mazda counter parts. On a off topic does any ones car smell after hard acceleration inside the car (some big reaction is happening somewhere in exhaust/motor, I thought it was new car bed in smell but still present at 10,000kms (also how much have people been paying for the 10k service?)
  21. sorry for the questions but will only get our car this weekend ... so what do you rely on for navigation above 5kph? just voice guidance? Not sure what you mean wait till you get you car and you will see what I mean, some display icons are not assessable when the car is going above 5kms/h display and voice are always there if a route is entered does this blanking out also happen when you're in radio or CD mode? No
  22. If fitted properly they will not scratch the rims, I used them last year on the Berlina I drove it for about 30kms it was like driving a tank, with the AWD you should not need them, but you must carry them, also most snow chains are flexible an inch either way. Thats why I got the AWD no more fitting snow chains in a storm while people drive past in there AWD'S & 4x4's LAUGHING
  23. Ah there might still be hope for me then I know that when buying a seat for my eldest son a Maxi Rider was too wide so I found an Infa brand seat which has all the features but is alot narrower. This was the only way to get all 3 seats in my current car. About to purchase a second Infa seat. Will definitely try them in a car before I buy though Thanks I have only one in a booster still and he sits either side never centre, my wife purchase a new booster for him when we purchased the car it has a useful Velcro shoulder strap for the safety belt that the old one never had. We had a Berlina wagon originally there is defiantly more leg room and Luxury in the rear and my 10 year old doesn't mind the narrow middle seat! I hate it, but I never sit in the back. Hope it helps
  24. Off topic I know, but that little screen also tells you when your windscreen wiper bottle needs refilling, must be big because I have never filled it up in nearly 6 months!
