  1. Ascent = single CD headunit, Conquest and upwards = 6 disc in-dash headunit with bluetooth. To the OP, there is no separate 6 stacker option whatsoever.
  2. Spotted on the news this morning, a blue or black ZZE-122 (might've been a Sportivo?) with big bling-bling chromies sitting on a tilt-tray after it had ploughed through a Civic Video store somewhere in Brissie. Full of p!ss, what a retard!
  3. No RCAs, best bet is to get rid of the stock head unit and get a nice aftermarket double-din of some sort.

    Road Noise

The first thing you should be doing is rotating tyres rear to front, if the noise transfers to the front, then the tyres are obviously causing the noise. Otherwise, you might have a shot wheel bearing or something along those lines. I wouldn't be surprised if it's tyres, a lot of RAVs from that era have noisy tyres.
  5. Foresters are an excellent vehicle for what they are, I'm sure you'll miss it. You'll love the Aurion as well, though. Fantastic avatar, btw! :D
  6. Yeah as roollaboy says, just a minor. Magnatec is fine, use a 10w/30 grade, semi-synthetic. Toyota do have their own oil, but it's made by Caltex. Make sure you use genuine parts (i.e. genuine oil filter) so you don't run into any trouble with warranty if the motor goes pop!
  7. If it's a '93 model I'd say it's just old and stuffed - not worth fixing and not worth replacing, upgrade to a newer and better headunit (maybe in-dash 6 stack or something).
  8. Major services are actually every 40,000km. The 40K Advantage Service is set at $150, but I'd say the 80K, which isn't in Adv Serv will be about $900.
  9. No for the current model, however, facelift Yaris comes out in a couple of months, will have gear indicator in instruments for auto. EDIT: Update for this, Toyota can't make their minds up. Now the facelift hatch won't have a gear indicator in the instruments?!? Sedan will though.
  10. Er, it's a set price. Dealers have an agreement with TMCA and can only charge $150 per service to Kluger customers under Service Advantage.
  11. From what I've heard the next TRD will be a RAV. If only we were getting the Blade Master G...
  12. Ummm... you do realise that airbags don't deploy in a rear end accident?!?
  13. Bit of a silly comment... There are a lot of hopeless drivers out there who would sh!t themselves in a situation in the wet or oil on the road whilst swerving to avoid something and lose control. At least stability control would give 'em half a chance.
  14. Mate, don't bother. I've worked at a few different Toyota dealerships over the years - these things can't handle our climate, they cook easily, and they cost a sh!t load to fix. A lot of the parts are different from Australian compliance Hiluxes and can be very expensive and hard to source. If you buy an Australian compliance vehicle (i.e. Toyota that was sold new ion a Toyota dealership) you won't have any issues.
  15. Correct me if i am wrong - He will need to get it from a 2007/2008 model corolla - Levin ZR LOL, my bad! Didn't take notice of that... yeah too new, won't be any wrecked ZRs or Ultimas out there yet. Hate to imagine what a new one is worth...
  16. Depends on the type of fault, if one is there. A major fault code (eg. permanent open circuit in something) will keep the light on while you're driving, and it'll keep coming back each time you start the vehicle. A minor code (eg. sensor slightly out of range) might register the lamp to come on once for the duration of a single drive, and might never show up again. However, it will store in memory for a certain period of time and then clear itself. Yeah definitely check/replace plugs, have a good look over everything including filters, make sure all connectors on components are plugged in securely, can't think of much else... good luck with it!
  17. Knock? Knocking refers to worn out bearings etc. Your Yaris is pinging or detonating - sounds like you've really copped a bad batch of fuel. Water in fuel maybe? Try throwing in a bottle or two of methylated spirits (don't worry it won't hurt) with a tank of 98, that'll at least get rid of any water that might be in the fuel. Try running a couple of tanks of 98 afterwards, and check the basic stuff as well - condition of plugs and air filter. Unless your MIL lamp is illuminating (indicating a fault code in the ECU), the dealer can't do anything for you.
  18. Ah bugger what a shame you're not in SE QLD, my dealership sells Toyota and Mazda. Go the SP23 if you want better handling, performance and stability, go the Levin/Ultima if you want smart start/entry, xenons, rain sensing wipers etc. Actually, tell your friend to hold off 'til next year - brand spanking new Mazda3 due. Should be a fantastic piece of gear and more than likely there'll be a SP25 considering the new 6 has dropped the old 2.3. Hmmmm... new 3MPS with blown 2.5! C'mon Toyota, hurry up with the TuRD Corolla before it's too late!!!
  19. Get a Sportivo one (red optitron), not a Levin/Ultima (white optitron).
  20. August production you should start seeing VSC in 152s.
  21. Sounds like your clockspring might be shagged (curled up ribbon cable for the airbag). Is your airbag light on? Yes, these are electric power steering - basically an oversized wiper motor that sits on the steering column. Just take it to a Toyota dealer and get it fixed whilst it's in warranty.
  22. Geeeezzzzzuzzzzzz... good luck to ya, Toyota dealerships will probably tell you to nick off if you go asking questions there! Don't blame 'em! KDSS is a mechanical system, not electronic. It can't be turned off, and there's no lights on the dash for it. There's plenty of info about KDSS on the net, how to identify it and how it works. Have a look at lc200.com.au and learn. You can learn about other stuff on there as well...
  23. The clunk can be stopped - you have to pump in the right amount of grease, not too much, not too little. It takes a bit of trial and error, of course...
  24. This only applies to AVNs (i.e. Kluger Grande, Aurion Presara, LC200 Sahara etc). Fujitsu 10 are currently engineering a fix for the double-din bluetooth headunits with poor mic sensitivity. We're expecting a bulletin from TMCA about it anyday now...
  25. What a load of sh!t. Doesn't matter if the dealership is small or big, they have exactly the same incentives from TMCA! At the end of the day, if you shop around, and then go to the dealership that's in your PMA (i.e. your closest dealership), they'll generally do the best deal for you. Who gives a cr@p about fancy cinemas, cafes and all that other w@nk Mercedes-Benz type stuff!
