    Voice Dial

Voice tags do not transfer from phone to AVN (headunit), doesn't matter what model phone you have. After transferring your contacts, you then need to record voice tags in the AVN.
  2. Especially when you've forked out 85, 95 or 110K of your hard earned bickies!
  3. A guy at work just ordered one. Got told 3 months. Turned up in 3 weeks. Sounds like the dealers are being told to say 3 months. Ummm... no. We are not told to tell customers 3 months. 3 months would've been a worst case scenario, but they have obviously sourced one from another dealer.
  4. You've been well and truly taken for a ride. What do you mean by a "diagnostic check"? A Toyota dealer plugging in an Intelligent Tester to check for fault codes (takes 10 seconds)? < Pointless if the ECU light hasn't been on and your vehicle is running fine...?!? Or maybe a dodgy Ultra-Tune bloke wheeling over a Bosch 3000 super whiz oscilliscope which can't do much on that type of vehicle anyway?
  5. Ummm... we don't really go by silly American model year designations here. The so-called 2009 Corolla that will be released in Seppo Land this year is pretty much the same as our 2007 Corolla. No, we are not getting the Matrix. On a side note, there is a change for the Australian ZRE-152 this year - the addition of VSC in August onwards production. Minor facelift due in 2009/2010.
  6. Ah, damn... bloody Toyota WA, they're in a world of their own (literally) over there! <_<
  7. I cannot wait to get the car!!! One month is a long wait........ BTW, the dealership that I bought the car from was Kalamunda Toyota (Perth hills), the sales person was a young guy called Jaiden. Maybe I should also mention the names of the sales people at the dealerships that were telling lie after lie trying to secure a deal. What goes around comes ............ KX-S Yeah, be careful mate, defamation ouch ouch... Usually the young sales blokes are dumb as dogturds, but it sounds like you've found one with some common sense. Congrats on your purchase. Definitely the best looking model in the Kluger range! Ask if you can get the COWT (Track my Toyota) batch and COSI number details to keep an eye on its progress.
  8. There should be a plug under the seat to the seat belt catch. Disconnect it and that should solve it. However, I don't know why you would drive without seat belts anyway. The reason people ask is because they have long driveways (i.e. farms, properties etc.). And btw, your trick won't work - the seat belt stalk will be open circuit with the seat belt tongue disengaged and hence set the reminder off once above 5km/h. So therefore, disconnecting the loom will keep it open circuit. There might be an option in the Intelligent Tester "Customise" menu to kill the seatbelt reminder... but you're not going to find a dealer who will easily change the setting for you, as they'll be liable if an accident occurs and the driver is thick enough not to wear his/her seatbelt. Oh, to the OP - why use those cheap crappy little crimp connectors?!? Do the job properly - solder and heat shrink wrap! And have you worked out a way to modify the graphics on your gear selector facia to show the + and - back to front?
  9. Ha! I get so used to driving around in Aurions and Klugers that activating/deactivating the foot park brake becomes (sort of) second nature. I went to hop into a RAV V6 today, and because I'm so used to the sound of the 2GR-FE starting up, my left foot went into action looking for the foot park brake. After about 10 attempts, I thought to myself, "you tool, it's a RAV, it has a hand park brake!!!"
  10. Low pressure injectors (i.e. injectors that supply fuel into the intake ports) aren't normally that loud. I know direct injection injectors (like the ones in my wife's MKV GTI) are pretty loud. The Ultima hatch she had before that (ZZE-122R - 1ZZ-FE) had quiet injectors - same injection into intake port setup as your 2ZR-FE. Get it checked mate, just in case a lash adjuster has bunged itself in and causes consequential damage. I reckon when Toyota bring out the Valvematic engines to replace the current VVT-i series, they'll go direct injection. Still about 3 years away I'd say...
  11. Just a heads-up for you all, as of the 1st of March, all non-TRD dealers will become TRD dealers. So, if you're wanting to buy TRD parts, or a TRD Aurion or HiLux, you'll be able to buy them from any dealer as of tomorrow! Knock yourselves out!
  12. You've pretty much already answered your question. It won't let you manually select the next random track. Knowing Fujitsu 10, probably not. As one of the replies stated above, hold down the text button. However, depending on what type of info you're viewing, it will only display a maximum of 2 lines of characters. SO if you have a really long song title, it ain't gonna display it. If Fujitsu 10 and Toyota had ½ a brain, the whole display would be dot matrix and be able to show artist, album and song title all at the same time. You can't. I'll see if I can copy one for you today...
  13. No you can't do this. Plenty of discussion in other areas about this btw.
  14. Headlight switch not left on by any chance?!? If that's not the case, you'll need to do a bit of probing with a test light to trace the bridged circuit from headlights to ignition.
  15. I'll bet any money this guy is referring to the signal strength meter not showing up on his head unit display, which is purely a convenience thing. We've set up plenty of Motorolas and other phones of allsorts, NextG or not, on bluetooth head units, with no probs at all. Some display signal strength, some don't.
  16. This can be frustrating. If the mirrors dip, then you can't see the sides of your vehicle if you're reversing into a narrow area (such as between a couple of other cars). Of course you've gotta fidget about and set the mirror switch to neutral to overcome this...
  17. You'll find the other item that changes it over to satnav mode will be the speedo transducer signal.
  18. So what happens when the passenger airbag deploys?!?
  19. Thanks for the heads-up on this one... haven't had any complaints yet from our Presara (or Camry Grande, LC Sahara, Kluger Grande) customers though.
  20. Using cruise around town isn't really a good idea... The way your cruise operates is quite normal for Toyota (in most of their vehicles, not just the Kluger). I tend to cancel it when going up big hills, as it certainly does get carried away and gets a bit hairy.
  21. No probs yet with all the ones we've sold. 38K for a 7 seater demo KX-R 2WD with parkassist isn't too bad, new on the road is about 45K. You might be able to pull 'em down a little more considering the kms.
  22. One thing to watch out for is the o ring that sits in the top part of the filter, make sure you get it out along with the cap that holds it in place when changing over the filter. If you lose either, you can't buy them separately, you have to buy the whole assy $$$. Obviously with no cap or o ring you're not going to have much in the way of fuel pressure.
  23. I don't know much about BP oil, but make sure that they're using a 10w/30 grade, which is best suited for VVT-i. Full synthetic in that grade is even better. Dealers can use whatever oil they please - usually most dealers have a deal or agreement with a particular oil company that provides their oil, fuel and lubricants. Toyota branded oil is made by Caltex, btw. The last couple of dealers I've worked at used Mobil and Castrol.
  24. That's Toyota's recommendation only, and does not have to be adhered to timewise. If you do 10K in say, 10 months, then wait 'til you reach 10K. If you only do about 5K a year, then have an intermediate oil change done at 5K.
