  1. It would appear that they have stolen the wheel as well as the tire. I think matt486 is also after direction on where he can find a replacement wheel for cheap as well. To help others out here with your search Matt, are you after the same wheel replacement, or any alternative wheel will do. Former is good if you plan on including the spare in the rotation, latter is good if you only plan to use the spare in an emergency. If you go for the latter, there is no need to go extravagant on the tire type. Even a near new 2nd hand tire would suit.
  2. Only thing is that piano black tends to show swirls more when you clean it too much. Now it's like the TRD 3500SL (well kinda) :P. Gives me one less thing to paint I guess.
  3. Reposting the following from an un-required new thread:
  4. See Steven. Even after all these months, you are still getting compliments. Gotta love thread revivals. And to Morequick: Dammit man. I've got a mental image in my head now. The things I would love to do to Shay Laren.
  5. If they colour matched it to the fenders, then I can easily imagine your lip being a different colour to your bumper. Most of the recent Toyota's I've looked at (haven't payed much attention to other cars) have the plastic bumpers a slightly different shade to the rest of the painted metal body of the car. They should have colour matched it to the bumpers if that's the case, so they should definitely fix their mistake. Edit: You can see what I mean about the colour difference on my TRD and my last Sportivo:
  6. Fark. That looks sex! Such a pro looking job as well. I don't think I could apply piano black that smoothly. But can you say fingerprint/dust magnet.
  7. I wouldn't really give advise like that... but hey, if you think it's right to do, then so be it. It's like saying it's fine to run a red light at an empty intersection late at night. Despite it causing no problems because there is no one else around, a majority of people will still wait till the light turns green... because it is the law.
  8. My bad. I completely looked over your post because you didn't post the video right. Wait. It's not a repost if there isn't a post to repost . You're lucky I can't make changes to that forum with the rights I have :P
  9. Correction on your wording. In QLD, you can cross a single white line to enter or leave a road, including entering or leaving a property, but it is illegal to cross one to do a u-turn or overtake. Then there is the solid line with broken line on one side... but everyone should know the go with that.
  10. You could buy the weights from whoever supplies them to tire/wheel shops, but unless you have a computerised balancer, then a DIY option isn't available. They use a machine that looks like this, and they can cost in the thousands to buy new.
  11. No. Balancing is the process of adding small weights to the wheel so that it spins with no vibration.
  12. Typically, most larger type tire shops will charge about $20-$25 per wheel/tire for a strip, fit, and balance. But that's not to say that your tire is going to equal $105-110. When they have an advertised price per tire with included fitting and balancing, it's up to them how they want to adjust the fees. But as a general idea, you get the point.
  13. Spotted Peter (ZZR88) at 3:27pm driving into Sunnybank Plaza. Was then followed by a tungsten and then white Aurion. Moments later I saw another black Aurion. Tis Sunnybank.
  14. I thought about it as well. One would assume every one of them has been delivered, but you do see the occasional one on car sales that still has barely any kilometres on them and I would have thought the OP probably bought one like that and the pre-delivery would be in reference to him receiving it. I dunno. The phrasing of everything isn't quite right.
  15. I wouldn't be suspecting the fuses in the first place for the simple fact that as part of his troubleshooting, Pirate said initially: I would be suspecting either the remote is faulty or the remote central locking receiver is not recognising the code that the particular remote is transmitting. Most of the time, it is the car that is programmed to the remote. In other words, the remote frequency/code is fixed and the car is set up to 'recognise' this code. So it's either the remote has developed a fault in it's transmitter, or the car for some reason has forgotten the remote code. If you can find instructions on how to add additional remotes to the car, I'd follow those steps first, and if you are sure the procedure was performed correctly and the remote still doesn't work, then I'd suspect the remote is faulty. These things can happen.

+1. Now that's a sleeper. Great work indeed.
  17. Well define to me what you call a: Because to me, this sounds like it happened pre-delivery which means despite requests, you still could hae had 91/95 RON in the tank.
  18. For a more detailed compilation of tire size specifications, please click to go to the following thread (thanks to u54mot): Tyres For all the aftermarket wheel specification compilation, please continue reading on: -------------------- Okay guys. I'm starting to get a bit fed up of the constant treads started just to ask if 'my wheels are going to scrub' or 'are these wheels too wide' etc. I have started this tread for that following purpose. I hope to compile a list so that others can see what others have used and with what outcomes. The purpose of this thread is for specification details only. Don't clog it with questions asking on opinions for certain wheels etc. When posting your wheels, you can include the following: ------------------------------- Wheel Brand/Design: <not required, but preferable> Wheel size: <eg. 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 inches etc> Wheel width: <eg. 7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5, 10 inches etc> Wheel offset: <eg. +45, +35 mm etc> Tire size: <eg. 215/55R17, 245/35R19 etc> Suspension type: <eg. Stock AT-X, stock Sportivo, stock AT-X with King springs, coilovers, etc> Feedback: <eg. Scrubs under high speed cornering, scrubs going straight, requires extra camber to fit, etc> ------------------------------- So please make your contribution and help out everyone out. I will browse through this forum in the afternoon and see if there is anything useful in any of the noob threads and I'll post it here, otherwise I will clean up those threads to avoid confusion. As well, while we are here, if you want to see what differences a wheel/tire combination makes compared to stock, these two calculators will be useful: 1010 Tires - Tire Size Calculator 1010 Tires - Wheel Offset Calculator Sorry to be nitpicking here, but this type of question just keeps on getting asked. I will pin this thread for now so it's more visible, then as it starts picking up, I will move it into the FAQ's.
  19. These engines can take quite a bit of a beating so I would imagine that for someone to do some serious damage, they would have had to thrash the car REALLY (and I mean REALLY) hard or there must have been a fault prior. I believe my TRD had a brief period where it was getting some serious detonation (potentially... since this is what Steven helped me define the sound as), and a case where the engine cut all throttle input for a few seconds after what appeared to be the engine running lean and misfiring (?). That said, those problems I experiences (especially the apparent detonation) occurred after many many WOT accelerations where 2nd and/or 3rd was revved out completely. Also from uphill climbs where there was WOT with really gradual acceleration due to the hill climb. I also have a modified intake, so that may also be playing a slight part in my engine behaviour. As mentioned though, the car was being pushed pretty hard at the time (getting close to the hardest I've pushed it before.. including my last Sportivo), so even though there should never have been issues in the first place, I can kind of say that the causes to those issues were explainable. But anyways, what this al means is that under normal situations, your engine shouldn't have blown up that easily. If there was 91 (or even possibly 95) RON fuel in the tank though and the car was given a thrashing.... well, that may cause some potential issues. I'd be trying to find out what exactly has been damaged so you can at least try to figure out the circumstances that led to that.
  20. You got yourself a good deal there. Welcome to the club and happy driving. BTW: I have moved this thread to our Members Rides section.
  21. You have to remove the airbag firstly. Instructions for this are in the following manual from page RS-349 (PDF page 355) onwards: https://docs.google.com/fileview?id=0By_PdB6dCTdWNDM0YTYzZDktNjg2Zi00Njc0LWIwNDEtNTkzYzNiZDBmMzY3&hl=en

  23. How this woman took such a hit and still responded afterwards puzzles me. That's gotta hurt. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pgZ8adAZ_0
