Hopefully not too long cause I'm sure catching the bus ain't so fun.

Good call. It's moments like that which now mean that I keep a USB cable in my car and laptop bag at all times. My phone and camera can charge this way, so it's always safe to have. Man, I really can't wait now. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas. I have never seen my car this clean as well before. I kind of don't want to take it out of the garage now. I just don't want to turn up to the Show and Shine having my car in view and not being clean. I hope all the road grim cleans off easily in Melbourne. Oh well, better get back to it. Still need to wax everything. It's the only thing making my day go by quicker. P.S. Better keep it clean Mick.

Thinking of painting my rims black / matt black
DJKOR replied to o12lando's topic in Aurion / TRD Aurion Club
I reckon that sounds like an alright choice for colour co-ordination (on paper). Maybe some Photoshop mock-ups may help. I'm not 100% about getting the Sportivo rims in black though. It just seems that because of the large surface area of the wheel, it may not look all that great. Maybe if you somehow left a ring of silver around the outside it may work better. Once again, probably best with a Photoshop. -
LOL. I got a bit carried away with the answer and didn't notice that. Truly though, it would be best if it look like this (a true HID projector). Pictures like these make me want to do a true HID retrofit: And this is what some are known to look like (found this on Google Images; that name seems familiar ) But realistically, with the type of projectors on the Aurion, expect it to look something like this (just less bright and more yellow since I have HID's):

Daryl, do you know where to get these wheels in Brisbane?? I wouldn't have a clue. I haven't really had to buy wheels before. Someone else should probably answer that. If I were to try, I'd probably go to Ozzy Tyres and ask if they can order them in and for how much.

Woohoo. I so can't wait. Only 31 hours till we are on our way.

Mind me for quoting myself. Many times I will post something only to realise I have mentioned it before but with greater detail. I then tend to wonder how I managed to make a decent reply before and not later. Plus I am pretty lazy to an extent. Anyways, enough babble. The quick answer is that unless you have the right tool, you can not make any up/down adjustments: Presara headlight adjustment Yep, that was me that you were recalling. It was in the thread 'Headlight'. In my opinion, I would only adjust my headlights if it definitely is out of whack. Being a little out is okay by me so long as it isn't glaring other road users. The headlights are aimed by a machine in factory and sometimes it is hard to replicate this with your own adjustments. As well, one of the adjustment screws (which is the critical up and down adjustment) is a tough one to access unless you have the appropriate tools: I'm not sure if the Presara HID assembly has the same adjustment screws though. Headlight Was there really a third adjustment screw? I was cleaning up my engine bay earlier and was curious, so I took another look. I was unable to find any more adjustment screws than what I had shown already. By any chance, were you referring to this: If so, that would be the buzzer that goes "beep beep" when you lock/unlock your doors. Quite odd having it in the headlight eh. Edit: OMG; I feel so stupid now. The third adjustment screw was sitting right in front of me. I wasn't quite thinking outside the box. Looks like this is the up/down aiming screw. This one definitely ain't easy to do by hand unless you have some appropriate tool. Totally agreed... It is really very nicely adjusted - so much so that I think even if the service place touched it they would likely stuff it up! Mine was perfect when I got it, beautiful sharp cutoff line, and a beam that would light up the road for miles up ahead - until a branch fell while I was driving at 60km/h, hit the front edge of the bonnet, smashed the windscreen and dented the roof... and now results in a beam that has a blurry center point with a dodgy cutoff line =\ Dunnoh what to do now... fix it myself and possibly make it worse, or get service to do it and likely do the same! It's a bit of a tough one. You can experiment yourself and if all else fails, then take it to the service centre. The thing is, when doing the manual headlight adjustment, it doesn't take much to throw everything out of line. With projectors, because of the sharp cutoff, you can easily see where it is aimed against a screen, but also as well, because the projector lights up only a selected area, it needs to be fairly spot on. In the factory, they have a machine that automatically aims them, hence the perfect aim nearly all the time, but I'm not too sure what the service centres would use. But yeah, having the low beams aimed correctly is essential because the high beams aim depends on it (which from factory, the high beams light up distance perfectly).

Spotted -JC- on Milton Road around 7:23am. I saw you wave, but but didn't react quick enough to wave back. I was about 60% looking at the HID's.

They are Lenso's alright. But you can easily tell from looking at the tire that they are 19 inch. This will confirm it as well: Hi Guys, Yeh i love the look of the car now it changes how i feel about the ZR6, IM IN LOVE ALL OVER AGAIN. The Lenso Type - M come with the red pin stripe standard that was another eye opener for me, the 18" look a little too small for the car so i went the extra Inch to keep the car higher but also looking mean, and the i had the excuse to lower the car to the Mrs. The Toyota's are too high standard so it had to be dropped for that TRD look im aiming for, Now just need a Grill. Rick.

Thanks mate. The beam pattern is exactly the same as stock, just brighter. The cut-off is more defined as well, but nothing really sharp like a true HID projector. I am lacking photos of the beam pattern on the road and was going to take some earlier, but the weather isn't quite the best right now and because of the wet road, it won't show up in photos. In the meantime, here is an example of cut-off on my garage door (it looks sharper in person): And this video (even though for another purpose) will give you an idea of how it illuminates things on the road. In person you can actually see th road lit up better than that though, but the markings and signs are about the right brightness: Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load! Both the low beams and the fog lights use H11 bulbs.

I haven't heard of too many that have posted yet about getting the panel filter. So far the only two people I'm aware of is Elgin (Supercharged TRD; used to have one when he had the TRD), and Dave (SupaTouring; has a TRD panel filter). Your best bet is to order it online. Now that the US exchange rate is looking a bit more respectable, it would work out cheaper to get it there since to get someone like Repco to order it in, you will be looking at around the $130+ range. When Elgin ordered one in September last year, he paid about USD$77.05 posted for his.

Well technically the dash lights do have different night and day brightness. If you have the dial set right, when you turn your parkers/headlights on, the dash will dim. As well, if you leave your parkers/headlights on during the day, the dash will stay at full brightness and when you go undercover or it gets darker, the dash will automatically dim thanks to the ambient light sensor. Does yours not do either or both of these?

Oh man, I'd be so wrecked to hear that news. Out of all the times it could have happened, it had to be for the cruise weekend.

F*CK YEAH!!! That was sweet! That drift alone at the start was great, and that was only the first 1:30 of the video. How wicked was the slow motion stuff as well. Edit: I highly suggest that you click on the video to bring it up in YouTube, then play it in HD.

Thanks. That would have been pretty spot on. Was on my way to Grand Chancellor to do some work.

Changing from Camry Sportivo 2007 to Aurion SX6 or ZR6
DJKOR replied to ToyotaNuts's topic in Aurion / TRD Aurion Club
Losing: The manual gearbox (if you have one), the traditional hand brake, 24mm of extra ground clearance, and nothing else really. Gaining: More power with barely any increase in fuel consumption, and the Optitron dash gauges (which look so good). -
I'm surprised the guy hasn't been shot yet. How can you seriously drive that around and think it looks cool?

The thing that's happening here is that he is asking whether it is a good move. Now apart from the fact that this is a Toyota forum and you will obviously have bias towards the Toyota, he is comparing two completely different cars with different target markets. You need to realise that those here that are on the forum (who obviously have a Toyota) have chosen their cars for a reason. If it was such a 'good move' to get the Lancer, they they would have already done so. It's like me going onto a Mac forum asking if it is a good move to change to a PC. If he was wanting a proper discussion without any bias, he should have asked the question on a general automotive board.

Hehehehe. It's so...... cute. Actually, I was considering Indro rooftop for some photos. Wasn't sure if it would work out with all the lights and whatnot. Might just work.
-
I somehow get the feeling that it may look nicer if it were colour-coded. I know for a fact though that these grills don't look their best in photos, so it may just be that. Maybe just respray the black to match the other black parts on the car.

I'd love to go, but I believe my next bit of work will be in Airlie Beach starting from that date. I'll get confirmation of whether that means I start in the morning there, or if it means I leave on that day to start on the 15th. Hopefully it will be the latter so I can go to this meet-up.

I don't know the fuel consumption for that car, but a 16.6L/100km fuel consumption is WAY high. Definitely should look into getting that checked up.

That PDF is also downloadable here: 07 Camry Service Manual - Electrical Wiring Diagrams (alternative link) If you are installing the foglights and using the supplied wiring harness, you won't need to refer to this manual at all. If you want to use the existing wiring for the foglights, you probably still won't need this as well, all you need to find are the two wires in the harness going to the steering wheel that trigger the foglight relay.

Well I plan to firstly get it absolutely spotless here in Brisbane over the next two days. Tomorrow I will clean the interior, Wednesday will be the exterior (two layers of wax, plus engine bay cleaning), Thursday will be sleep. Then when I get to Melbourne on Friday, I will wash it at some self-serve carwash before parking it in the secure carpark that the hotel has the parking offer with. Hopefully it wouldn't have picked up TOO much dirt/bugs along the way. Mick and I will then get some decent sleep. We will get up, have some dinner, go get wasted, etc etc, then I will have to get up on Saturday morning and just do a once over on the car with some quick detailer and maybe another layer of wax. It won't be the best finish it can be, but it will be close enough.
