That is looking mighty fine there mate. Welcome to the club. I'm sure this would have to pique interest with mick.wheelz as well as many other members here. Look forward to hearing more about it.

Rough enough is good enough? If anyone can get it working, it is you Mick.
  3. You were quick on doing what I call the simple but important visual aesthetics. You got those bright parker replacements and some LED parkers. You even got the slimline weathershields which are a nice touch. Are you thinking of 19's or 20's for your wheels? Anything else you plan on doing in addition to that and lowering it?
  4. Looks mint even in it's stock form. Those clear tail lights work so well on silver. I'm tempted to get a set myself.
  5. You actually had HDACHE Prestige Plates? Learn something new every day.
  6. Whilst the car itself may have it's merits being posted on a forum like this, rules are rules and should be enforced. Only TOC Supporting (Paid) members are allowed to post their Toyota's for sale here. I ask that you delete the contents of your post to save the hassle of having to get a mod to do that for you.
  7. I said there to delete the contents of his post because it violates the Buy and Sell rules. He definitely read my post because he made a reply. Since no action was taken, I figured I would make the thread hard to use because he didn't follow a request. It states on the main forum page that only TOC Supporters may sell their car.
  8. We were thinking that having everyone grouped together would be the best. Our idea was the Hotel Formule 1 Windsor since it's location would work well.
  9. Welcome mate. For general consumable mechanical stuff like timing belts etc, you can usually get a fairly decent price as it is at places like Repco and whatnot. For most of the common Toyota's, parts like that are usually readily available. If you know a mate there or a mechanic, you can go even better and get trade prices. Otherwise, with the AUD where it is at the moment, you could get some pretty good prices at many places located in the States. Those possibilities are endless.
  10. No interest sorry. If I do get a iDevice to integrate into the car, it will have to have a retina display... or be an iPad. While I'm here, you know where I'll be tomorrow night.
  11. The price and the seller.
  12. Refer to the Buy and Sell Rules mate. Delete the contents of your post otherwise a mod will do it. Edit: That's it, may as well spam this thread till a mod can get to it: Edit 2: As funny as the long cat is the scrolling is kill me DJ :P
  13. Yikes. Note for future, if you are replying to the post above you in a single discussion thread, or if the post you are replying to is rather long, there is no need to quote the post. Just makes it easy for us all to read. When I say 'about the same', I was referring to the quality. They all use a cotton gauze oiled filter which are all of comparative quality. In terms of induction sound, a straightforward panel filter swap isn't going to bring you anywhere near that of an SRI or CAI. Show-off :P Hehehe. Nah, I don't have a decent photo of the intake only. That photo above was thanks to Charlie over in Sydney BTW. But for purposes of showing the intake layout, here is one:
  14. To save me typing because it's early morning and I am getting ready for work, have a look at the past meet threads: TOCAU NATIONAL MEET 2008 TOCAU ANNUAL MEET (2009) 2010 TOCAU ANNUAL NATIONAL MEET
  15. If you are going to be spending money on your car to change the air anything around the intake, do yourself a favour and spend the extra little bit to buy the K&N Typhoon SRI. I personally suggest this one over the Fujita CAI because of the availability and brand preference. If I was to give you my best advice, I would say to go get CES to make something for you.... but I like to be realistic. There is no better brand. You either have the TRD or K&N panel filter replacement, or you have the K&N Typhoon SRI or the Fujita CAI. They would all be about the same. eBay or any American online store that ships to Australia. The K&N kit comes with a complete guide on how to install it. I'm fairly sure the Fujita kit would be the same. For the panel filter replacements, this should be straightforward. A panel filter replacement is as simple as loosening those clips, opening the filter box, and then changing the filter. Installing a SRI or CAI requires removal of the air filter box and all the hoses connected to it either get plugged off or they connect to the intake. The instructions provided with the intake show where these all connect. I wouldn't be swapping out the panel filter or putting in a K&N or Fujita intake with the expectation of getting any power gains. You would only be buying them for the extra service life and induction sound. You should be able to edit it now after the posts you have now made. There aren't all the many DIY guides on the forum here for me to justify making a new thread for it. I will just eventually work on compiling the FAQ's a little better when I have the time.
  16. Good stuff mate, making it into the magazine and all. Imagine what they would have written if you got a low 14 pass.
  17. You can't always expect an answer on the same day mate. The specific nature of your question combined with the lower percentage of active members who would be able to answer your question means you are just going to have to wait if you want an answer.
  18. Firstly, I would be guessing he was referring to the muffler and not the exhaust tip. I've heard people call them the same thing before. Secondly, the Sportivo exhaust is indeed different to the non-Sportivo's. Not exactly the best thing to do to the Sportivo, but it would reduce the exhaust note.
  19. Using the number plate alone won't tell you that information. You will need to get a VCheck on the car which requires at least the VIN number and current registration details. I don't know what you heard about the plate numbering, but that sounds like a myth to me.
  20. I've already been looking into this idea. I have a solution available but the one thing holding it back is the male connector. That said, even the female side is difficult to get your hands on. Being a Bosch OEM product, the only real way you can get these connectors is directly from the people that make it. No doubt there is some factory there in China responsible for producing them, but I will tell you now, it's not quite the easiest thing to find a specific factory.
  21. DJKOR I don't know what they stand for. The combination just seemed to look right.
  22. You can simply just reprogram your VSC... unless you know how to reverse engineer the hardware. Just because something had to be calibrated, it doesn't specifically mean you can do so yourself as well.
  23. Take a photo of your wipers in their fully parked position. Best to do this from inside the engine bay after lifting the bonnet. It may be that for some reason, you wipers were removed and when they were replaced, they were put back on a notch or two towards the anti-clockwise direction. To fix that, you can remove the nut that holds the wiper on, lift them off and rotate it clockwise one or two notches on the spline and re-secure the nut.
  24. It's definitely something quite unique. Props to him for doing everything he done, however part of me thinks it's all a waste because it still is a 2.4l Camry. Needs to balance the looks with some power that can carry it smoothly. It's not like it needs the power, but if you are going to spend a bit of money on it, at least get it all even. To me, a VIP car at least has some pulling power as well.
  25. Well... not a Toyota, but I spotted this later in the afternoon today. Guess he didn't want to buy new plates when he changed car, or the car has an identity crisis: First time I have seen and heard one on the road. Boy does the 2GR sound so much better in that car. Which reminds me, I need to book for my "Lotus Exige Race Experience". My folks gave me a voucher to do 10 laps in one around QR or Morgan Park. Fun fun.
